  Winta Cottage was a true delight. Quaint and quiet, with virtually no disruptions by traffic or noise. We spent a week here, exploring the island at our leisure and found it to be everything it is described to be. Buccaneers Slip provides easy snorkeling, but don't be afraid to try the smaller slips along the North Road as they provide some surprising gems. The caves are very cool. Be sure to take good hiking shoes if you intend to venture out, as the iron shore is pretty treacherous in places. Management and owners are extremely helpful and friendly, as are all the locals that we had any contact with. Pay close attention to the books and the folders in the cottage. They contain some really valuable resources.

  If you want a place that truly connects you to nature, this is a great place to go! My girls and I chose this location as they loved the way the house looked like a tree house...the location almost makes you feel that you are right on the ocean - you can always hear the waves and feel the wind. We loved being able to snorkel out the front door (and in numerous other places on the island), explore the caves, hike the trails and see the unique birds that Cayman Brac is home to (the Booby Birds are so interesting!) We enjoyed the friendliness of the island, folks waving to us, invites to the Caribbean band at the Captain's Table, talking to the locals about the history of this island, kayaking... The house is well done with a great design that allows for amazing sea views, fantastic sunsets, great star gazing...The kitchen is well equipped, a great selection of games, and lots of good information on the island. It was great to have laundry on site, the outdoor shower is great for getting the salt water of our bodies (it even has warm water!), the beds were comfortable, and the views, outstanding! We were even able to have an outdoor Easter Egg hunt, on the beach, and under the cottage! We arrived on a Sunday and appreciated the heads up to bring food with us. We were also able to order pizza! Our girls were interested in an afternoon at the pool and so we were able to swim at the Captain's Table after our lunch. Availability of fresh produce was quite good if you got the store right after the food had arrived to the island. We really enjoyed the locals beach (by the old diva property) that offered a great location to swim, build sand castles and to snorkel. Buccaneers Reef was such a great place to see a wide variety of fish and is quite sheltered. The owners were responsive, informative and really easy to work with. We were incredibly pleased with the Winta Cottage and the Brac and would highly recommend this as a unique, peaceful, naturalistic place to go!

  Had a wonderful week stay at the Cottage in April. The cottage had everything we needed. Nice cool breezes off the water at night made sleeping very comfortable. Really enjoyed the sunsets from the deck or playing on the beach. Great snorkeling right in front of the property. An easy cut thru the iron shore, just to the West, allowed easy access to the water. Spent everyday either snorkeling or scuba diving. Weather was a little windy at the start but overall was just right. The owners were extremely helpful in giving us tips on the local restaurants and sightseeing options. Patty, the caretaker, was helpful with recommendations on where to eat and on local customs. The BBQ at Barry's, dinner and lunch at the Reef Resort were perfect. We really enjoyed spending time in the Reef Resort hammocks after a morning of diving. The scuba diving at Little Cayman, Bloody Wall, is a must for any diver!! Rented a car for 4 days, really enjoyed visiting the caves and light house on the East end. Only minor hitch was there was not enough toilet paper, we had to buy our own, and there was no garbage bags. But nothing we could not deal with, and was no problem. The grocery store is within walking distance and everything else is close. It was a great comfort to have a cell phone at the property to make local calls. Was one of the best places, houses, vacations we have ever had! We would go back again for sure! We highly recommend Winta Cottage to everyone.

  Three friends and I used Winta Cottage as the base for a spring break vacation. It is a lovely cottage with everything you need and situated right on Cayman Brac's northwest shore. The sunset and views from the deck were great. The location is close to just about everything... though this is a diver's island and there is not a lot of nightlife. This was perfect for us since we just wanted to relax. Water access is limited as the ironshore is sharp limestone and covered in sea urchins. However, Public Beach is a little jaunt away (it has a sandy bottom entry) and the snorkel ladder further west has great access to a wreck and fish galore. Caretaker Patty is super helpful and the locals are laid-back and friendly. No need to lock the doors here folks! We rented bikes, so only had a car one day. This was just how we liked it; we could get some exercise while exploring the small island. Lots of birdlife, caves, and the dark skies make for phenomenal stargazing. Get fresh fish from Jodi's marine shop at the corner and have a drink with locals at Edd's or the Coral Isle. The Reef Resort has good BBQ and band on Friday night.

  What a wonderful cottage! We love it's adorable style and how private it was. There wasn't a house on the one side and the large three story on the other was vacant while we were there. We had the entire beach to ourselves! Manager Patty was great and very helpful. She suggested the Tipsy Turtle for food and that was great. The location was perfect, private but close to town. Possibly the best vacation we have had!

  We had the good fortune to stay at Winta Cottage for four weeks in January 2012. We were looking for a quiet, relaxing property on the ocean where we could recharge. Winta Cottage was everything that we had hoped for and more. The location on the sea shore away from the main road and with few neighbours was perfect! The cottage is elevated so it catches the soft sea breezes that provide natural air conditioning and we felt at home immediately. The wrap around decks offer a variety of settings in or out of the sun, always with a view. The swimming and snorkeling off the beach was especially inviting with plenty of very colourful and friendly fish. The Star Island Restaurant that is a block north on the main road should not be missed. We had the best food on the island at the Star - friendly owners and fresh fish every day. It was a sad day when we had to head home. We highly recommend Winta Cottage to anyone looking for a quiet home away from home on the Brac!

  The cottage was just as the listing stated. The place is even better than the pictures. Everything was very clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, cookware and such. Even plastic baggies, lots of Tupperware like containers and had basic cooking supplies on hand like spices and oil. The owner was on top of every little thing we contacted her about. The items we had to contact her about were not her fault....they just happened. I would highly recommend this cottage to stay at. Loved the wrap around deck. The sheets were very soft and nice, lots of towels on hand for the BR and the beach. Loved it!!

  Outstanding views and great location for a quiet family retreat to the Brac. We were even treated to a meteor shower on the last night of our vacation that we watched while laying outside on the deck. The outdoor shower was refreshing after a morning of diving or a day long swim at the nearby Buccaneer. Having the convenience of a washing mashine allowed us to travel light and return home with clean clothes. We will definately return to Winta Cottage on our next trip to visit my aunt.
