In the historic Faubourg Marigny, three blocks from the French Quarter and one block from the Jazz on Frenchman Street. Built in 1911 and renovated this year with a walk in shower, granite and copper countertops, and a plaster finish in the bedroom. We kept the original details, like rough hewn beams made of barge wood.

The location is ideal for exploring the city during festivals. There is a trolley stop 3 blocks away, plenty of Taxis on Frenchman Street, and we provide 2 loaner bicycles so you can explore the city like a local. We are in a great area and it's easy to access all areas of the city from here. If you're flying in and are just going to be exploring the city then you really don't need to rent a car. There are plenty of places to eat, buy groceries, and pick up anything you may need for your stay within walking distance. Taxi ride from the airport to here is about $30 per person. If you do need a car or are driving in parking is usually easy on our block, but off street parking is an option. If you don't fee like cooking, walk to one of the nearby cafes or order in. You can find Turkish, Vietnamese, tapas, Thai, vegetarian, classic Creole, German, Italian or Mexican food within a 6 block radius.

We live in the front house and can address questions or concerns if they arise. From our perspective, this neighborhood blends the best of New Orleans.

Keywords: Near the French Quarter, one block from jazz on Frenchman Street. Walk down a driveway and through a leafy courtyard with hot tub and pond to your cottage. It's close to the excitement of Jazzfest, Mardi Gras, the Superbowl, Satchmofest...

Everything that we needed was there for us. It was very comfortable, in fact my wife said that the bed there was more comfortable than our own bed we have at home. Walking distance to/from everything from local hotspots to casinos and Burbon street was very convenient. Overall, we were extremely happy!

This cottage was a perfect sized place for a couple. It is walking distance to the quarter, and about a block off of the great music on Frenchman Street. Having access to the bikes gave us a opportunity to explore the Bywater section of town, which was new to us, despite many previous visits to town. Photos are very accurate. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at this private Cottage. It was a short walk to the French Quarter, and the music on Frenchman Street every night was amazing. Thanks for a great time.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week. The location is great! Mere blocks from Frenchman St. and the French Quarter. Its a perfect little house for 2 or 3 people. The kitchen was nice and pretty much fully equipped. The cottage was clean, and had all the usual amenities - plenty of towels etc... Chad was very attentive, and helpful. The street is quiet, and not overly busy which was nice at night. Overall it was a darling little cottage. I would not recommend this cottage to older folks, the stairs are really steep, and odd spaced. I would definitely stay here again. There is plenty of great restaurants close by as well. I would recommend Elizabeth's in the Marigny-Bywater, and the Joint (worth the cab ride) Great Barbecue!!!!!

My husband and I stayed at Chad and Nadias cottage from 12/28 to 1/3 on part of our trip. We had a great time. This is a really good location - quiet but in walking distance to Frenchman and French Quarter and cabs and trolleys if you want. The cottage is as advertised and was very neat and clean. I marked it down a little because the hot tub was not working (the bikes weren't available either but we didn't care about that), which is one reason we chose this property over others. It was cold in NOLA and a tub would have been nice. Also, the shower water is lukewarm at best - never got hot. Most of the year that would probably be just fine. The owners were very nice as was a friend who was taking care of the property when they were gone. We had lots of privacy. The washer/dryer was great to have so we could travel a lot lighter. We loved Frenchman street and it was just a couple of blocks. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this for a couple who want to go out and about but want a quiet nights sleep (bed is very comfy!).

My husband and I stayed here for a week. I am a repeat visitor to NOLA so I am somewhat familiar with the area, I know what I like to do and where I like to go. That said, wandering is a tremendous amount of fun as well and the best way to find new places to love. We were able to check all of the boxes with this property. The location is the best! I love the entertainment on Frenchman, most of my evenings end up there, and it was only one block away. So nice to have such a short trip at the end of a long day. The FQ and French Market just 3-4 blocks away and public transportation easily accessible from the corner. The neighborhood was friendly and nice to explore, fun neighborhood bar, wonderful bakery, fabulous restaurants, and coffee houses all nearby. The owners were wonderful, welcoming, and a great source of local information. The cottage itself was very comfortable and had everything we needed; a well-appointed kitchen, spacious bathroom, comfy chair for a quick rest, and a comfy bed to fall into at night. We had a car because we drove but only used it once during the week, parking was easy. I did see the bikes but did not use them, I prefer to wander on foot. I cannot come up with a single complaint about this place and we will definitely be back!

My huband and I were in town for a wedding this past weekend in New Orleans and we hate staying in hotels. We are very familiar with the french quarter and garden district having come down to New Orleans a number of times to plan our own destination wedding. We discovered Frenchmen street on our last trip to NOLA and were jazzed (ha!) to find a VRBO property that was nearby. We had a very late arrival on a Thursday night (after midnight), so we never got to meet the owners who were gracious enough to hide their keys for us to get in so late. However, the apartment we stayed in (which we would call a coach house in chicago) was adorable! It was very clean, had great books to read, and had this rustic new orleans in-process feel to it that I loved! We also only ate out in the Marigny area and found some great spots in walking distance! Also, the apartment is incredibly close to the quarter. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes to walk and explore! Both my husband and I love to ride our bikes in Chicago so I was saddened that the bikes looked quite rusted. We were too busy with cooking classes, a gumbo festival, and our friend's wedding events to inquire if we could ride them, but if the owners fixed them up, they would be a fantastic asset to your stay! Overall, I loved this place and would come back in a heartbeat! Great neighborhood and location!

Owner response: We have since spruced the bikes up. Most of us ride old, slightly ratty looking bicycles because no one steals them if they are locked to a lamp post in the French Quarter. If you want to rent a brand new bicycle, Gerkin's rents them -- as does Greg's in the Quarter. We are happy to give you more information about options.

We loved staying here. It had everything we needed, it was in a quiet area, yet within easy walking distance. We hung out a lot on Frenchmen Street so this was perfect as it was only 2 blocks away. Another 2 blocks and you were at the French Market. Chad and Nadia were very kind, the convenience of the bikes was awesome. We were able to bring our therapy dogs as well (thank you!!!). We would definitely stay here again. Clean, quiet, convenient.

We really enjoyed our stay in the sweet and quaint cottage. The bed was comfy, the A/C worked great, the towels were wonderful, too! It was so nice to have a refrig for storing cold water and simple breakfast foods. We were a short walk to the french quarter, Cafe du Monde, and the french market. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

                                  Why the Owner Chose Marigny-Bywater:
Besides the reasons mentioned, it is one the best preserved historic districts in the country. Apparently this was the neighborhood where the fine gentleman of the French Quarter kept their mistresses.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
As mentioned, we have 2 bicycles we can loan you for exploring the quarter or riding to JazzFest. We love this city and are happy to help you have a good visit. It's the best neighborhood we have found in the city.
