This apartment is at the end of Copacabana, two blocks from the beach, and a ten-minute walk to Ipanema. The location is great because it is located on the main shopping street right out the front door is a bus stop, which makes it very safe as there are no quiet, dark streets to walk down at night and always people in front of the building waiting for a bus, plus 24-hour doormen. And none of the prostitution that runs rampant on Av Atlantica.
I am an American, so I understand the American idea of luxury. For example, both bathrooms have makeup mirrors and the master suite has a separate tub/shower. The sheets are 200-300 thread count in both bedrooms and the suite has a down duvet (as it can get cold with the central air). The towels are thick and big, there is fine china and pottery for dining and crystal wine glasses. The water is heated by a boiler (a rarity in Rio). The second bedroom can be either just that or if it is just a couple can function as a TV room. As you see in some of the newer photos I am slowly adding artwork too. The bedroom has an LCD flatscreen on the wall and the second bedroom has a TV also both with cable..each room including the living room has its own stereo, so bring your CD's.
The marble is imported from Greece and the faucets from Italy. The service area out the kitchen door is completely tiled and airy and opened... this is also used as the exit/entrance to/from the beach and there is a little area to rinse you feet and hang your beach towels. The laundry room is out there too, with all the cleaning products, washing machine, and a place to hang drying clothes.
This apartment comes with daily maid service so she will be doing all the cleaning, etc. as you are on vacation!
The apartment itself is decorated with a very tropical feeling except for the master suite that is British Colonial with 200-year-old antiques. This is my home-away-from-home, so I have paid extreme attention to detail. I am also providing you your very own English/Portuguese/Spanish speaking, 24-hour concierge. |
