Pam's Palm Place is a recently remodeled St Augustine beach front condo (#118) in what is affectionately known by the locals as South Beach or Crescent Beach, just 5 miles south of St Augustine, the oldest city in America.
In November and December of 2016, we gutted this 400 square foot, one bedroom, one bath unit. It now has everything new...new drywall, new paint, new flooring, new cabinets, new quartz countertops, new appliances, new fully tiled bathroom and shower, new furniture, new TV and new blue ray player for those afternoon showers we tend to get on the coast. We have been told by several employees at the complex that this is now, by far, the nicest unit in the entire complex. We know you will love what we've done to the place.
The unit is small, only 400 square feet. Don't want you to be caught off guard by that. But, we have maximized the layout to make it feel roomy. It is on the first floor and conveniently located in the middle of the complex giving it great access to the stairs, handicapped ramp, parking, office and pool. It is nice not having to take take the elevator but the best part about being on the first floor is the patio. You still have a great ocean view but you don't have to look through the railing. You will think you are the only ones there when you are on the patio. It is very private and there is room to move out onto the grass and stay in the sun if you prefer or you can enjoy the shade once the sun moves over the complex at noon.
It has a queen bed in the bedroom along with a small closet area and TV. The bedroom also has a ceiling fan and new AC. Open the bedroom window and the back door and enjoy the breeze.
The living room is furnished with a full-size sleeper sofa.
Crescent Beach is considered by locals to be the most family friendly beach around. The beach is very spacious and as the tide goes out, it leaves behind a giant natural wading pool.
The bathroom has been tiled floor to ceiling and is absolutely stunning. The unit does not have a bathtub. It does, however, offer an easy-in, easy-out, step-in shower.
The kitchen has lots of cabinet space to store your food supplies. We furnish cookware and everything else you need to cook and feel at home, including a microwave/convection oven, two burner glass cooktop, blender, toaster and coffee maker.
There is a small dining area designed for two but if you extend the leaf, you will have room to spread out.
Above the dining table, we've installed a new 50 inch TV and blue ray player in case the weather turns bad. But as we say in Florida, if you don't like the weather, just wait 30 minutes!
The living area features a leather sleeper sofa and oversized ottoman to kick up your feet up on or you can jump in the recliner and watch the shrimp boats pass by on the horizon while you doze off for an afternoon nap.
The patio has seats for three plus two additional folding chairs. A great place to sip your morning coffee and watch the sun come up over the water.
We also provide two beach umbrellas, two beach chairs and other beach items so don't bother spending money on stuff that will just be taking up room in your garage back home. We don't furnish surfboards, paddle boards or bicycles, but there is a rental shop two doors down where you can rent those sorts of things.
You can feel secure, even though you are on the ground floor because the first floor patios are gated off from the public and even better, we are next door to the police department. There are dunes between the complex and the ocean which are home to various wild life. Our favorite are the turtles which like to nest just over the sea wall in front of our unit. The walkover to the beach is at the south end of our complex between units 107 and 108...we are unit 118...so we are just steps to the beach and also the pool. The pool is saltwater and is heated...very relaxing and great for your complexion.
You will love the location of this unit. There are four good restaurants within walking distance and another 30 or so along the five mile drive into St Augustine proper. There is a convenience store across the street and down one block where you can buy fuel, ice, snacks, beer and wine. You are one mile to a Dollar General. Four miles to a Publix grocery store. Five miles to the St Augustine Lighthouse. Five miles to St Augustine Beach. Six miles to famous restaurants like the Salt Life, Oasis and Sunset Grill. South Beach grill is still the best, though, and it is a two minute walk from the condo :) You are ten miles from the Bridge of Lions and the fort in St. Augustine.
The condo is smoke free with smoking only allowed in the parking area and on the beach. We rarely allow pets, but will consider a very small dog for an additional fee and deposit. We live in St. Augustine and are available to help with any problems and tourist type questions you might have. Our goal is for you to have an awesome time while you are here visiting.
