Great House Close To Everything

  • 5 of 5

The house easily accommodated our very large group - I think there were a total of 7 queen beds across the entire house and perhaps also a pull out sofa, though we didn't need it given our numbers. The house is a very quick Uber ride to the breweries and to any of the main spots in the city of Asheville, so you can go have a couple of drinks while being safe and taking a quick cab ride home. The weather was not cooperating with us so we didn't get to use the backyard area very much, but it looked really nice. The inside of the house was neat, clean, and the kitchen was stocked with lots of cooking utensils, which was awesome. The only issue we had was that the cable and internet was not working for our first night at the house, but once I called HomeAway, the owner had the issue resolved and it was up and running perfectly the next morning. Overall, I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone who has a big group and is looking for a nice house to have your own group stay together.

Not impressed for the cost

  • 2 of 5

Let me start with the good stuff: The house was pretty big and the rooms had nice sized beds etc. The decor was ok and there were plenty of TVs. It is in a decent location that can get uber service. However, the house had some major downsides that I believe subtracted from my overall vacation and made me feel like we did not get value for our money (this was significantly more expensive than houses we had rented previously that were better and equivalently sized). The house had a number of smells: mildew, plumbing related smells etc. that were quite off-putting. Also, the heat was very uneven- leaving some rooms freezing whilst others were extremely hot. These things were not minor annoyances: they became conversation pieces for the entire group which ended up embarrassing me as the person that picked the house. All in all it is a house that could use some structural fixing, especially in the plumbing department. Moreover, I don't think it is fairly priced given these issues.

Owner's Response: Jesse, Thank you for the time to write this review. We appreciate your feedback. While we are happy with the positive experiences you had at Sweeten Creek Escape, we are so sorry that there were issues for you and your group. Based on previous guest reviews and communications, the smells, plumbing, heating and mildew issues were not evident. Our property management team has been out to the house for a comprehensive inspection and will address all of these problems. We encourage all of our guests to contact us immediately if there are any issues and wish you would have given us the opportunity to address them. If there is anything we can do to assist you on your next visit to the mountains, please let us know.

Beautiful house with great amenities

  • 4 of 5

The house is great - plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our large crowd. The kids loved the media room and the game tables. The adults enjoyed the remote controlled fireplace and comfortable common areas. The kitchen was well stocked.

Only a few suggestions. The house is located on a very rough road which is not clearly marked. Could you add a sign or marker? Also, the front steps are much too high. My mother had a very difficult time getting up them. They need to be rebuilt.

Good house for a small family reunion

  • 5 of 5

This house worked well for a small family gathering. It was very convenient to the Biltmore Estate and to downtown Asheville. I appreciated the well-appointed kitchen. I was able to make a large breakfast one morning and had all the pots and pans and serving ware I needed. I received excellent customer service from Yonder.

Beautiful spacious home, perfect for large groups!

  • 5 of 5

This home was exactly what our group needed for our gathering spot from five different states! The bedrooms were spacious and gathering rooms plentiful! The dining rooms sat 10 people comfortably and the decks offered a peaceful, serene option. This Home allowed us to be close to all the downtown action. I would strongly recommend it to anyone heading to Asheville, NC!
