We needed service on the mini fridge, and they did it right away.I used Google translate to help me with Spanish to ask questions of staff if the owner was away. I just wrote the question on paper, then they could help me right away.

Hidden gem

We loved this place! The apartments are clean. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and keep the entire place always pristine (that’s the cleanest pool we’ve seen!). The grounds are lush and give the feeling of an oasis within minutes of the beach and downtown. And Miguel is a helpful, responsive and friendly host. We spent two great months and cannot wait to go back!

Just steps from beach & town

My wife and I stayed at Tamarindo Blue Apartments for a week in April and had a wonderful time. Communication with the host was excellent from the start right through our arrival and stay. We found the apparent to be clean and comfortable, and the pool was right outside our door. The location is perfect. We walked everywhere— to the beach (about 5 min) and all over town to enjoy the many shops and restaurants. Michele was always at hand if we had any questions and responded immediately if we needed anything. Highly recommended for a perfect Tamarindo vacation.

Subject: Formal Complaint and Request for further Compensation – Blue Apartments Tamarindo StayWe are writing to formally express our serious concerns regarding our stay at Blue Apartments in Tamarindo.The issues we experienced during our stay were not minor inconveniences and should not be characterized as such. This was not simply a matter of a pipe becoming disconnected. As previously stated, we experienced two separate incidents in the middle of the night when the water tank pipe disconnected, creating a loud bang that sounded like a shotgun being fired. These incidents were extremely alarming and upsetting.After the second occurrence, we contacted the host and were instructed to unplug the power under the sink, despite the area being completely soaked with water both under the sink and across the kitchen floor. This placed us in a potentially unsafe situation. Our concerns about these incidents appeared to be dismissed when we were told that “these things happen,” and no apology or acknowledgement of the seriousness of the situation was offered.In addition to the water tank issue, there were several other problems with the unit. The television cable service functioned only intermittently because the cable wire was damaged and would not remain connected. Rather than addressing the issue, we were simply told to use other features on the television.Even more concerning was the fact that we were unable to properly use our toilet for approximately eight days of our stay.

Amazing accommodation!

This rental property is absolutely incredible! The property manager and staff members are very friendly and attentive to your needs. This apartment complex is beautiful, clean and very close to many restaurants, stores, shops, supermarkets and the center of Tamarindo as well as a very short walk to the beach. I highly recommend this rental property to anyone traveling to Tamarindo!

Location, Location

It is a short distance from the beach where we surfed the entire 5 days of our stay there and all the shops and restaurants in Tamarindo. Price of food at restaurants was extremely overpriced and I appreciated that the apartment has all the basics to cook a meal. AC worked great, nice small but clean pool. Also had parking available and staff was very accommodating. I hated the noisy metal framed stairs to the loft and we can hear the next door "neighbors" go up and down plus their voices that was too loud as late as 2am! Cable did not work with the TV. The unit itself does not have its own washer and dryer but rather, the housekeeper will wash/dry for you in exchange for gratuity.

The location is great. It’s quiet and safe. We enjoyed our trip. It felt like fancy camping. The mattress is made of springs and is very uncomfortable. There is a market close buy where you can by shampoo, body soap, or anything else you may need. The stairs do make noise when you walk up them but they are solid. We put bug spray at the base of the door daily to keep ants and other insects out. (We have friends stay at a very nice casa just up the street and they also had bug problems because it’s Costa Rica where all the bugs live). The pool area is nice and there is an orange cat that roams around saying hello to people working on their tans. Laundry was super easy, we left a bag with one of the property caretakers in the morning and got it back faster than expected. We were here for a wedding so we had the chance to check out the many different places you could stay around Tamarindo. This place was better than a hostel because it has AC and is quiet. It’s not as comfortable as some of the nicer hotels closer to the nightlife/food but my friends complained those places where too noisy and they had trouble sleeping. Best food we found all in walking distance: Sol Bakery, Zolu Taco Bar, Breaking Bread.
Kitchen had Utensils, pots and pans, dishes, etc.
The stairs are noisy but solid. this is not a complaint as I have noisy stairs at home this is just a fact.
And we didn’t need to use this but it’s nice to know it��’s there.

Not as we expected

Great location in Tamarindo. Right down the street from the Food Trucks & Night Market. Easy walk to the beach & right near all the surfing hostels. The apartment itself was not as we expected it to be & we ended up staying somewhere else. The stairs to get upstairs sounded like they could break at any moment. There were ants all over the day bed downstairs. The kitchen was a plug in stove, a toaster, a tiny fridge & a sink! The laundry is a communal laundry shared between all the apartments. The bathrooms are tiny - my husband couldn’t stand up in the shower without hitting his head. We could have stayed here - as it is fully livable, had AC & felt safe. However, it was not what we expected to walk into. They are very run down! We felt as if this rental was poorly advertised and not an accurate representation of what we booked. I hate to be that person to leave a poor review but I think this listing should be updated.
