Courtyard Cottage es una cabaña catalogada de grado 2 en el hermoso pueblo de Chulmleigh, en la cima de una colina. La cabaña ha sido recientemente renovada para proporcionar un amplio espacio para hasta cuatro personas. La planta baja tiene un estilo abierto con cocina, comedor y amplia sala de estar. GOOD STAY

Every thing you could possibly need for a comfortable stay is in the cottage even down to a dishwasher . The village has a couple of pubs which do food at reasonable prices and a minimarket and bakers so is ideal for a quiet and comfortable stay

Cosy Chulmleigh cottage.

A very comfortable and well appointed cottage which made us feel right at home. Cleaned to a high standard and set in the village with everything within easy walking distance. We will definitely stay here again.

Lovely cottage in a charming village. Had everything we needed for our stay, and the breakfast was a nice extra. Parking is on street, but there were always spaces available. Well placed to reach desired destinations, and with plenty of walks from the doorstep.

Anniversary treat

This tastefully decorated and furnished cottage was the perfect place to come back to each day after visiting our destination for the day. We covered many miles of country lanes and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The cottage had everything we needed as a home from home.

Wonderful stay!

Wow, what a find! Absolutely beautiful cottage in a lovely, friendly village. We had lovely meals at the Red Lion and the Chulmleigh Tandoori, and were lucky enough to coincide with the fish and chip van (Tuesdays 5-7pm opposite the library!) Great visits to Westward Ho! and Exmoor Zoo. Unfortunately didn't manage any walks due to a sprained ankle! The only thing that was a tiny disappointment was that I hadn't realised the courtyard wasn't directly accessible from inside the cottage, but it didn't matter at all and we would really love to return.

Surprisingly large, comfy home in a hidden gem location

Loved our few days away in Devon. We had planned to visit a few places across the county, so picked this cottage simply as it was in the middle, but we were so pleasantly surprised with how great the house was. Very spacious and comfortable and a lovely social space whilst still being cosy and welcoming. The village has all you need: a shop, a bakery, a couple of good pubs and a couple of takeaways. There’s a little car park just up the hill and around the corner that we used for the car. All-in-all, a great stay and we’d definitely stay again if back in the area!

Comfortabele Devon-cottage in dorpje Chulmleigh

Zeer comfortabele cottage typerend voor Devon volgens de locals die wij hebben mogen ontmoeten. Partner en ik verbleven er een week in de herfst. Cottage is gelegen in het rustige Chulmleigh voorzien van een traditionele pub, gastropub, snackbar, tandoori restaurant met take-out, een kleine supermarkt met basisproducten en een heerlijke bakker. Als je de deur van de cottage uitstapt beginnen een paar prachtige wandelingen in de directe omgeving van Chulmleigh door het Engelse platteland. Maar is ook een prima uitvalsbasis gebleken voor het ontdekken van al het moois wat Devon, Exmoor, Cornwall en de kust te bieden hebben met auto (of bus). Inclusief 2 leuke steden die goed aan te rijden zijn. De cottage zelf is van alle gemakken voorzien. Er ontbreekt de gast aan niets. Prijs kwaliteit is uitstekend. Auto hebben we over het algemeen wat verderop op publieke parkeerplaats geparkeerd. Van harte aangeraden.

Overall very nice property. Would not recommend for anymore than four (4) people being that there is one shower. Quaint town with a good pub ( Red Lion). Car an absolute must in this area.

Lovely Cottage in a Lovely Town

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Courtyard Cottage. Loved the open plan layout downstairs and the ensuite in the master bedroom was a real bonus as the kids subsequently had their own bathroom. We all commented on how comfy the beds were! We had everything we needed for a short break and the welcome package of bread, milk, cereal etc was very welcome as we arrived late on the Friday night. Chulmleigh itself is a lovely little town with plenty of amenities - we thoroughly recommend a meal in the Chulmleigh Tandoori. We only had a couple of days on this occasion but having previously lived in Devon, this location would be ideal for visiting Dartmoor, Exmoor, the North Devon Coast, Exeter etc. Communication from Chris was excellent and we look forward to a return visit soon.

A lovely mini break just what we needed to unwind and relax.

Absolutely fantastic. Clean, spacious and very comfortable. Such a lovely touch with the extras and in a good location central to most coastal towns. We had a brilliant time and will be back again

Half term getaway

Lovely well equipped cottage in a very friendly village. A short walk gets you to both village pubs and the Indian restaurant which are all worth a visit. Recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing break in rural Devon

Absolutley beautiful and peaceful stay.

We stayed here over New Year 21/22 and we had such a wonderful and peaceful stay within this quaint and well equipped cottage. This modern cottage was very comfortable. The bread, butter, milk, condiments and breakfast cereal were so welcoming. The cottage is within a minute's walk to the nearest cosy pub. The locals are so friendly and welcoming and really made us feel at home. There were a few walks that we did, (all be it that they were muddy walks but we were equipped for the occasion!) we were after a relaxing break (we work in schools so you can understand why!!) and where we had parked our car upon our arrival is where it stayed until our departure! We enjoyed it so much that we're looking to book again for later in the year, but cheaper directly!! Chumleigh is a very quiet but for us the amenities within the vicinity were enough. Thank you Mr and Mrs Parker, we will certainly be returning.

We have someone who lives locally to the cottage who looks after it for us when we are not there

When we bought this property in 2018 it was in a poor state of repair. It has been extensively refurbished and has been brought it up to a standard that the two of us are happy to stay in ourselves. So we believe that others will enjoy staying at Courtyard Cottage.

Although only a small village (although the locals are very proud that it is actually a town with its own charter) it offers the amenities only available in a much larger place. Countryside walks are only a short distance away
