The best part of Porto

Well appointed, very close to tram, bus, park, beach, castle, restaurants, but away from touristy chaos. Easy parking. Drop dead gorgeous setting, inside and out We loved it. Great quality and value!

Beautiful little property!

Amazing stay, hosts are very helpful! If you want to get to the city center you can take the 500 bus. We loved it!

Amazing apartment in a beautiful location.

My husband and I spent a week here as part of a road trip all over Portugal. The location is perfect—bus and tram stops just steps from the door; fabulous restaurants within easy walking distance, and a beautiful park and the water just across the street. The apartment is spacious and nicely furnished. Luiz is a fantastic host; the restaurants he recommended were perfect, and he was personable and helpful without being intrusive. We loved our time in Porto. If you stay here, be sure to check out Wish for a lovely dinner.

Extremely Disappointing, Not Worth the Cost

We have traveled extensively on 4 different continents and stayed in many different rentals and hotels. This was one of our most disappointing rentals. The unit we stayed in is 100% underground, it is essentially a basement unit with an external stairwell (this is not mentioned in the listing at all). There are no views of anything except the stairwell. We referred to the unit as “the dungeon” because it was damp, had a musty smell and had mosquitoes, moths and ants in the unit. There are no screens on the windows and we could not open the windows due to mosquitoes and moths. Despite the listing on Vrbo, there is no “hot tub”, which we found out after asking the owner where the hot tub was and his final answer was that we could put hot water in the bathtub. I do not think this was a misunderstanding based on language issues. The patio” is a joke, it is actually the stairwell landing and not really a patio at all, maybe 5’ by 5” at the bottom of the stairwell, completely below ground level with no views of anything other than the stairwell and front door. Our Wi-Fi service was out one night. The “TV” is a smallish, old Samsung computer monitor with basic cable, no ability to connect any streaming device other than 1 USB port. No way to use a Firestick, Hulu or other streaming device/service. It did come with basic cable, but CNN, for example, was only in Portuguese. Finally, washing and drying laundry takes 2-3 hours, possibly more and it is very confusing.

I am very disapointed with customer review, because most things he says are not true. First. The apartment is not 100% underground. It has four walls and only one is undergroung. The access to the apartment is made by an external stair that gives to a big 18th century door. Outside there is a little patio with a table and 3 chairs. Inside you have a 55 m2 room with two normal windows that open in case you open them. It has a well equiped kitchnett and a complet bathroon with washbasin, , bidet, , toilet and bathtub. Not a jacuzzy. The customer are an old couple with a lot of dificulties. Dificulty to use the safe, dificulty to use the wash/dry machine, dificulty to open windows, dificulty to go up and down stairs. But when you choose a place to stay you have to see what you are getting. In Casa da Belavista you get wjhat is written and showed in pictures. All are real. Service wi-fi out can happen anywhere and we are not responsible for it. Damp smel. Guests confuse the smell of an old house with the smell of damp. In addition the apartment has air contioning with three atmosphere control modes. Just need to put it to your taste. The tv is not a computer monitor. Is a flat sansung monitor with 145 channels with the appropriate size for the size of the space. In conclision guests are dificult people to deal with.
