I gave this property a 3 star rating based on a few things that occurred during our stay as well as a few improvements which could be made – otherwise this is a great property. The location is fantastic, the apartment is new, has a great floor plan and very comfortable for 2 adults. The main bedroom and on suite bath is very spacious with great storage and natural light. The dining table easily holds six people. The living area again great for two adults to relax and watch a movie after dinner – more than that and the space it tight. The second bed / bath are very small – not comfortable for adults, the beds are the two small futons pictured and the bath you need to step all the way towards to wall to close the door to access the shower or use commode in private – but great to have the second facility. This is not a negative as long as you are aware in advance. The kitchen was decently equipped – there was a starter set up of coffee pods, sugar and a nice welcome basket of wine, cookies and crackers.
So what would make it a 5 start property?
1- More knives in the kitchen – after the basic butter knives there was (1) bread knife, (1) paring knife – no other sharp knives to cut fruit, cheese, salami etc.
2- Soap dish in the bathroom – bar of soap was left on the counter to get slimy and stuck when a small dish would make it much neater and cleaner
3- A toiletry holder for the shower – the shower units are small, you have to place your toiletries on the floor and bend to reach for the bottles, this might not seems like a big deal until you hit the water control and the hot water scalds you
4- Have more than (1) towel per person for a multi night stay – on arrival there was one shower towel, one hand towel no wash cloths, we had to call for more towels.
5- Better communication with the owner – an incorrect door code was provided to enter the unit, we needed to call to get the correct one. The response was fast.
a. We had an issue with the washer/dryer combo unit. The initial response was fast, after that not so much. The owner indicated the technician found nothing wrong with the unit it was operator error. There was no indication, i.e. card, note alerting us someone was in the apartment while we were out. I had to reach to learn the technician was supposed to have come. Surprisingly two days later there was a knock on the door – it was the technician to look at the washer, he indicated he was unable to look at it two days prior. Upon inspection he identified a faulty motor and could not make the repair. At no point did the owner reach out to let us know she had made an error in the original communication and the dryer did not in fact work. While not a major issue – my reason for posting is I’m not sure how a major issue would be handled based on this experience.
Bottom line it’s a great apartment and if the few items mentioned were addressed and the owner more proactive responding to concerns I would stay here again with out question.
