Welcome to Your Home in Porto – our brand new Private Luxury Family Villa with Swimming Pool

Canto de Luz is the loving restoration of a Merchant’s townhouse in the heart of Porto’s old town in a quiet cobbled street running parallel to the square of Porto town hall. Behind the traditional tiled façade is a modern architectural gem, created around an atrium that floods the building with natural light. The property is filled with custom-made furniture, original art, premium appliances and fun gadgets.

Operated as one of Porto’s most successful Guest Houses, and consistently in the top 3 on various review platforms and Traveller’s Choice winner year on year, we are delighted to preview brand new for 2020, our Luxury Family Villa.

The Private Villa with Pool is set in the garden of the main Maison. An eco-Villa offers the best of both worlds, a private luxury 2 bedroom eco home, powered by renewable energy and offering a beautiful open plan kitchen, living-dining room which looks out from floor to ceiling windows on to its own private terrace and garden down to your private salt water electrolysis swimming pool.

Our rate includes Daily HouseKeeping service and Breakfast served at La Cuisine or to the Villa each day.

Our breakfasts have become the stuff of legend. They change daily according to the season and produce available in our local markets – always homemade with love.

The Villa has two ensuite bedrooms each with their own luxury bathrooms with heated towel rails and rain showers. A sofa bed in the living room allows 6 people to sleep comfortably in the Villa plus up to 2 infants.

LOCATION - Could NOT be better!
• At the heart of the old town in the renowned Rua Almada a quiet cobbled road that runs parallel to one of the main squares in Porto
• Trindade Metro station is just around the corner
• Walk Everywhere – 5-7 mins walk to Avenida dos Aliados, Torre dos Clérigos, Rua das Flores, Ribeira and the riverfront, and the beautiful São Bento train station are all a stone’s throw from our door
• We are lucky to be surrounded by great shops, amazing restaurants to suit every taste, quirky antique and vintage shops
• Excellent supermarket, bike rental, cafes, bakery, fromagerie (cheese shop) and Vinoteca (Portuguese wine shops) are all 2 mins walk

Ideal place to explore Porto

This is a beautiful property. Two couples stayed in the villa. Unfortunately the rain was incessant so we were not able to use the outdoor patio and pool. But it was an ideal base to explore Porto, the staff was superb, and the breakfast set us up for the day.

We had the best experience at this Villa in Porto. The property is amazing and the staff is beyond fantastic! We would definitely stay here again if in Porto in the future. The complimentary breakfast was delicious every morning with fresh fruit, cheese, ham, yogurt, pastry, breads, eggs and whatever type of drink you wanted. The staff was always available to help with directions, places to eat and tour suggestions. We loved it!!! Thank you!!

Very good property! Has big comfortable rooms and big long size beds! Mattresses are very comfortable! Very clean! Shower is very good! Technology in every room which works super well! Pool very clean and amazing addition! 2 couples stayed there in a 2 bedroom and stayed comfortably! We had to leave early for flight back and the staff had prepared us some breakfast to take away for 4am!!! Breakfast otherwise in the morning was amazing! Fresh bakery and fruits! Orange juice was freshly squeezed! I cannot fault this place at all! Wish we could of stayed longer and will definitely be going back

Everything - this place was perfect. The staff were extremely accommodating I was overwhelmed at their great customer service. I asked for some recommendations on where to get some pre flight covid tests, and they booked it all up for us. I did the same for some dinner recommendations, and they also booked up the loveliest place for us. I never asked for it, they offered all of this themselves which I appreciated so much. On one of the days we had to leave early (before breakfast) for a tour we had booked and they prepared us some sandwiches and cakes to take with us, also without us having to ask anything. Finally, we forgot something behind after we had left and they went out of their way to ship it to us back in the UK. They went above and beyond to make us feel very welcome and on top of that the villa is beautiful. It was very high tech and had great facilities and any time I needed something I found it in the villa. There was nothing we needed which we couldn't get. I will definitely be coming back, and also trying some of their other properties they have in other locations. We stayed in a few places in Portugal as we travelled around and this was definitely our favourite.
