About this property
The Bakehouse, Coggeshall
A beautiful, bright and spacious self-catering cottage in a converted Bake House. This one-bedroom property with space for additional guests is nestled in our garden right in the heart of beautiful Coggeshall.
A moment's walk from the shops, parks and historic treasures of the village (or town, depending on who you ask!), the Bakehouse is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway.
The space
When you enter the Bakehouse, there is a little entrance hall for your coats with a downstairs loo and sink. Then into the spacious kitchen diner. With dual aspect it is always filled with light and can comfortably seat 8 guests at the table. We provide 6 chairs but feel free to ask for more if you have guests coming. The kitchen is well-equipped with good quality cookware and knives to make your stay feel as much like cooking in your own kitchen as possible. There is a utility cupboard with a washing machine and microwave. If there is anything else you need kitchen-wise, our own home is next door so feel free to let us know and we can probably find it!
Upstairs you enter the beautiful living space. There is a sofa bed as well as two stylish easy chairs and side tables. The perfect space for curling up with a book or having a relaxing drink with friends. Sound systems in both the kitchen and the living room are easily connectable via bluetooth. If you have some work tasks to be getting on with there is a desk and the Bakehouse has its own wifi connection. The widescreen smart tv is ready for you to log into your own streaming services. The large trunk is the perfect hiding place for any spare bedding if you are using the sofa bed.
Next this leads into the bedroom with a luxurious, extra-length superking bed and en-suite shower room. The beds can also be made into twins if you prefer. There is a large wardrobe and chest of drawers as well as bedside tables with a drawer. There is an extra-large full length mirror is on the wall and soft uplighting throughout the upstairs which sets a calming mood for the space.
There is the option to use the single pull out bed as well, and the sofa-bed (pictured) which is a small double with topper mattress for added comfort. We have travel cots available for young children too and stair gates can be added ahead of your stay on request. Please also let us know the ages of your children if you would like a basket made up for them with a few toys, games and books to enjoy during your stay.
The Bakehouse is set within our own garden and our house is next door. There is a secluded area of the garden, through the arch, with a table and chairs available for your exclusive use. It leads into our herb and vegetable patch. Please help yourself to herbs for your cooking! There is no parking for guests at the Bakehouse though you are welcome to use our drive on arrival and departure for un/loading. Street parking & paid local car parks available 3-5 mins walk away.
