Northwoods äventyr i UP-skogen och sjöarna

Kom och njut av vår Northwood stuga som din semester tillflykt till basen din utomhus och fritidsaktiviteter. Det ligger i en halv avskild miljö men ändå en kort, 1/4 mil från staden. Fastigheten gränsar till Ottawa National Forest som gränsar till Upper Peninsula Michigan och norra Wisconsin.
The "Little House" är en två sovrum stuga bekvämt inrett med en varm antik charm. Lounge på däck medan du grillar. Njut av en kväll runt lägereldet, eller koka upp dagens fångst på en stativgrå över elden. Om kvällen är kallt, hoppa inuti för att värma upp vid eldstaden.
På morgonen gå ut för att njuta av de många underbara aktiviteterna och sevärdheterna som UP erbjuder. Kajak / kanot, eller fisk de många floderna och sjöarna. Vandra skogsvägarna. Ta in så många vattenfall som möjligt. Motorcykel vridning av Porcupine Mountains, belönad med utsikt från Lake of Clouds outlook. ATV och snöskoter de skogsbana spåren.

Nice location for visiting Sylvania Wilderness and Western UP. Place was clean, host responded quickly and were friendly. Check in and check out was simple. I would definitely come back.

Hideout in the woods

This is a perfect place to stay if you want to experience the Northwoods area. The wifi isn't great here but hopefully that's not what you're here for. Awesome well communicative hosts! Easy check in and check out.

Snowmobile trip

Stayed at the home to do a little snowmobiling. A very well kept and clean home. Owners are easy to get a hold of and helpful.

Watersmeet Cottage

Quaint cottage in the woods ... quiet and secluded. Had everything we needed to make this trip up north comfortable. We stayed here while working on my parents house getting it ready to sell. Would have gladly stayed longer, if the dates would have been available for our entire trip. There are not a lot of available restaurants locally, but that is typical for areas in the UP - not a knock, just a heads up if you're not familiar with the area. Great communications with the hosts before and during the stay. Would definitely stay again, when in the area on vacation. One small word of caution on the road leading to the cottage, there are aggregate trucks using the road during normal business hours, so just be aware.

Great little cabin in the woods.

Was going for a week of kayak fishing with a pal of mine and found this little place stay. It’s a great location being just 5 min from town just in case ya forgot something. The place was quiet, privite, clean and comfortable, everything you need when looking for comfort. I will be looking forward to coming here again.

Up North Cabin

Ali & John are great hosts. Notified us of extra traffic on the property road (which was not an issue). Cabin is super clean and quiet. Thankfully she let me take some of her beautiful yellow flowers growing out front home to Tn.

Had a wonderful stay at this house in the woods. Was very comfortable and had everything we needed. If you like to get away to a peaceful stay this definately works. Alison and John were fantastic hosts. We give this entire experience a 10 out of 10

Perfect fishing trip headquarters.

Because the property is located less than a mile from the intersection of 45 and 2 it makes all local fishing easily accessible. The home is clean and well maintained. The owners offer great support, plentiful towels, a good TV channel selection, and complimentary coffee. The driveway has an entrance and exit making boat parking easy. While one can occasionally hear some road noise it is minimal. I could go on but suffice to say, I plan on renting the property again as it suits all of my needs and more.

Perfect Getaway!

Easy communication, check in was great, the place was very clean and perfectly set up, it had everything we needed. The fireplace was amazing as well. Highly recommend!

Alison & John Oliver är värd

Although John and Alison lived in Illinois, they have been coming to the Watersmeet area to camp, snowmobile, and discover the beautiful and rugged sights of the upper peninsula for 25 yrs. During the latter part of that time, they were able to purchase a cottage in Watersmeet as a base camp for their year-round activities.
They have retired and made another location in Watersmeet their permanent home. With so many wonderful memories of activities done with friends and family at their cottage, they decided to open it to others to enjoy the amenities of the region too.

They want to thank their previous guests for maintaining and leaving the house so clean. The respect given to the property is appreciated.

Varför värden valde detta boende

Initially, the woods and nature drew us to camp here in the Ottawa National Forest. We kayaked and canoed the clear lakes. Winters we snowmobiled. After about 18 years driving from Illinois to the UP for weekends, we purchased this Little House as a second home since we already spent so much time here. Additional benefits were the serenity, the quiet, and the friendly people that have settled here. Culturally, residents are involved in arts, crafts, Northwood's interests as making maple syrup, producing plays and music. As we approached retirement, we already knew the UP was where we wanted to be. Finally, we retired and settled into a small home on a lake, and now rent the Little House.

We are still discovering even more places and activities. With the Little House, we hope others can visit this area and enjoy the Northwoods as much as we do.
