There's no shelter, though, so slap on the sunscreen and wear a hat. In the Knights' Quarter, you'll find the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes, whose collections include sculptures from the Classical, Hellenistic, and Roman periods, as well as burial finds from as early as the 9th century BC.

Swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving are just some of the water activities you can do in Rhodes. The island's pebbly western coast is the go-to for surfing and kitesurfing, but if family fun in the sun is what you're after, pick a spot along the eastern side's 30 miles of sandy and shallow beaches. Rhodes—summertime breaks mean sun, sea, and sand
Rhodes has a mild climate year-round, with temperatures generally ranging from the 50s to the 80s, although they don't fluctuate much within the day. Summer temps fall between 73 and 84 degrees in July and August, and the warm sea waters make for lovely dips. Winter sees temperatures from 50 to 59 degrees in January and February. Expect wet days in the winter, especially in December and January.
