Aiolos Glaros | Seafront Retreat near Agios Nikolaos
Aiolos Glaros is perched on a dramatic cliffside just above the sea, within the boundaries of Agios Nikolaos. Surrounded by panoramic sea and mountain views, the villa offers a rare sense of privacy and calm while remaining only a 4-minute drive from the town’s restaurants, cafés, and shops.
Designed as a series of indoor and outdoor living spaces immersed in the landscape, the property accommodates up to 8 guests across 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms arranged over two levels.
The upper level features a fully equipped kitchen, an open living area with expansive sea views, smart TV, two bedrooms, and one bathroom. Large openings connect the interior directly to the infinity pool, sun terraces, shaded lounge areas, and outdoor dining spaces overlooking the Mediterranean.
The lower level includes two additional bedrooms with private bathrooms, a secondary kitchen, fitness space, sauna, and access to the outdoor jacuzzi and lower terraces closer to the sea.
One of the villa’s most distinctive spaces is the separate stone-built Pool House — a quiet retreat set even lower on the cliffside. With its whitewashed interiors, circular architecture, and uninterrupted sea views, it offers a peaceful space for reading, resting, or watching the changing light over the water.
Although Villa Aiolos Glaros feels completely secluded, it is located among some of the area’s most exclusive five-star resorts and enjoys its own independent private entrance.

I’m Greek-Spanish and grew up between Greece and Spain. I studied architecture and Fine Arts, so I’ve always been interested in houses, interiors, art and, more generally, the way places make you feel.
Aiolos Glaros is our family home in Crete and I’m very personally involved with it. I love finding things for the house, changing little details and slowly making it better each year. At the same time, I never want it to feel too perfect or like a hotel. I like houses that feel lived in, where things have been collected over time and there is always something to discover.
One of the things I enjoy most about hosting is sharing the Crete that we know with our guests: the places we like to eat, where to swim or where to spend an afternoon. I want people staying here to feel at home and experience this part of the island a little less like visitors.

What I love most about this location is that you really get both worlds.
The house sits on a rocky stretch of coastline overlooking the sea and feels very private, but at the same time Agios Nikolaos is only a few minutes away. You can spend the whole day at home, swimming, reading or having lunch outside, and then decide at the last minute to go into town for dinner or a drink.
The landscape here is quite wild: rocks, sea, wind and very little between you and the horizon. The light and colors change constantly and the sea is visible from almost everywhere in the house.
For me, that combination of feeling slightly removed from everything while still being so close to town is what makes this particular spot so special.
この宿泊施設の特徴
I think what makes Aiolos Glaros special is difficult to explain through a list of amenities. It is really the setting and the way you live in the house.
The house is built into a dramatic rocky hillside directly above the sea and unfolds across different levels, terraces and little corners. Most of the day naturally happens between indoors and outdoors: breakfast overlooking the water, afternoons around the pool, reading somewhere in the shade and long dinners outside.
There are spaces where everyone can be together, but also plenty of places where you can disappear on your own with a book or a coffee. And despite being so close to Agios Nikolaos, once you’re at the house you feel remarkably removed from everything.
Aiolos Glaros has also evolved over many years rather than being designed all at once as a rental property. We keep changing things, adding pieces we find and making it more our own. I think that’s part of its character. It isn’t meant to feel like a perfect luxury villa. I want it to feel like a beautiful Mediterranean home that you get to make your own for a little while.
