My name is Philip, and although I wasn't born here, Barcelona has been my home for over 20 years. Like many people who come to this city, I fell in love with it and I never really left.

What I love most about Barcelona is its incredible balance. In the same day, you can enjoy breakfast in a quiet neighborhood café, wander through streets full of history and stunning architecture, spend the afternoon by the Mediterranean, and finish with dinner at one of the city's amazing restaurants. If you prefer nature, the mountains are just around the corner. There's always something new to discover.

Over the years, I've come to appreciate not only the famous landmarks but also the little things: the local markets, hidden squares, neighborhood bakeries, peaceful walks, and places that don't always appear in travel guides.

Hosting gives me the opportunity to share a city that has given me so much. I will do my best to make you feel at home and help you experience Barcelona beyond the typical tourist attractions. This district exists since 1860, after the demolition of the medieval ramparts. Today it is a vast commercial and residential district. Its perpendicular streets, give the city a new vision.
A small Museum in the open air, the "Golden square" concentrates the biggest number of modernistic buildings in the city. Frontages of wood, glass, iron and ceramics: an architectural delight. This area is famous for its modern architecture. The building frontages are almost never the same. Barcelona’s Eixample district is the result of the city’s expansion project drawn up by the famous architect Ildefons Cerdà and begun in 1860. It is one of the world’s most unusual urban spaces and Barcelona’s personality lies, to a great extent, in the unique layout of this district.
The modernist hallmark is centered around a relatively small area, the central hub of the Passeig de Gràcia, being the most elegant quarter for shopping.
