Excellent Host & Property!

Everything went perfect! Massiel is an awesome host! The apartment had everything we needed. Massiel was so helpful with recommendations and pointing us in the right direction! Please not that the water park is only open on the weekends and there is a small fee to use. Next time we are in Bayahibe we will be back! Gracias Massiel por todo su ayuda!

Renters beware. Do not stay here

Our stay at Massiel's apartment left us scarred, swollen-ankle, and disappointed. Please do not rent from this place. It's a scam. She contacted us a day before our stay to tell us of a problem with the apartment. I immediately tried to reach her, but could not get ahold of her for two hours. Finally, she told us there was an issue with the electricity in the unit. She would accommodate us in another apartment for one day before we could enter the property we rented. Communication with Massiel then stopped until after 2 days. We couldn't reach her. Staff at the complex, not Massiel, told us our apartment was ready. Our apartment was not as described. We had no AC in the living room. We had no WiFi. The second bedroom, as mentioned in the listing, can only be reached by climbing a ladder. A ladder that is not mentioned anywhere in the listing. This ladder is a hazard. My husband slipped and rolled his ankle, climbing up. As soon as we had this emergency, we called Massiel. No response. We didn't hear from her again. When telling staff what happened in the apartment, they scoffed at us. Other staff agreed with us that Massiel scammed us. We contacted Vrbo, and not even they could get ahold of Massiel. I write this review so others don't experience what we went through. We had sleepless nights, waited over two days since the start of our stay to have internet, and the owner was nowhere to be found.
