Luxury Sheldon Cottage is the perfect hideaway for four. With amazing Peak District views, there’s an open-plan living area and two large bedrooms - super-king or twins. There are two bathrooms– a fully accessible wet room for less mobile guests and an ensuite shower room. All on one level it’s wheelchair accessible. It’s set in one of Derbyshire's most breathtaking valleys. Sheldon Cottage is part of the Wheeldon Trees retreat which is located in one of Derbyshire's most stunning valleys, nestled under High Wheeldon. Breathtaking, with space to breathe, we guarantee vistas with every visit, along with an honesty shop, general store containing anything you may or may not have forgotten, The White Company toiletries, linens with the highest of thread counts and the fluffiest towels, EV charging, our own roasted High Wheeldon Rising fresh coffee, super-fast zooming and delicious food and drink deliveries straight to your cottage from our partnership with Sauced Here. New for 2022 are upgrade electric bikes which are free to use and a new games room.

Everything was perfect with the cottage. There was information about how things work and some great ideas for local walks. The beds and sofas/chairs were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of room for 4 people. It is a good location for easily getting around the peaks.

The communication with the hosts were excellent. The information given was detailed and easy to follow. I loved the additional touches to the information which gave you a sense of character of the hosts. The welcome basket was appreciated and used. What you didn't find in the cottage you could find in the honesty shop or the general store area. I am a full time wheelchair user and have never stayed in such accessible accomodation! The wetroom was perfect and I was able to be as independant as I could be, which meant an awful lot to me. There were detailed walking paths which we didn't do this time, but we saw plenty of people enjoying them. Wifi was provided which was a godsend for keeping in touch with my teenagers at home. The views in a morning were beautiful and just melted all the stress away.

Sheer perfection, wonderful, bliss, best accommodation ever!!!

Where to begin, think I may run out of superlatives! Our Sheldon Cottage was the most wonderful place to spend 4 days. The view alone was priceless. Steve and Hazel have designed the cottage to the highest possible standard and it has everything one could possibly need. It is wonderfully equipped for anyone with a disability, a wheelchair can easily whizz around all the accommodation. We loved the wonderful notices in the cottage, all suggestions rather than orders, all so gentle. Very luxurious toiletries, smell divine, we wish we could have bought some to bring a wee bit of Wheeldon Trees home. The kitchen equipment is top notch and very generous. Super furnishings throughout and oh those wooden beams!!The honesty shop is a shining example of the quality of the thoughtfulness of the hosts. The setting of the cottages is perfect, silent except for bird song. We had no mobile phone signal which was great !! I searched for a down side!! Found none, we loved it and would love to return.. Just a bit of paradise nestled in the valley.

We gave up corporate life in 2021 for a more wholesome outdoors adventure. Steve was in housebuilding and Hazel owned a PR and advertising agency. We live just down the road in Ashbourne but are a phone call away if you need us.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We’ve tried our best to ensure all you need to do is turn up. Our sheets are Egyptian cotton, our towels are fluffy and white. From olive oil in the kitchen to luxury toiletries hand-made locally for us, we have tried to think of everything. We love travelling ourselves, so all we have done is try to cover everything we would need. Add in historic chocolate-box cottages and stunning scenery – we think we have the perfect Peak District spot.
