Overview

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 1 loft, 2.5 Bathrooms, Sleeps 9

Chandler Riggs' (Carl's) parents invite you to their beautiful 2400 square ft home that was originally a church! Built in 1890, the church was converted to a home in the early 2000's. The home is one block from the quaint town of Senoia (which is better known as Woodbury from the show), where you will find dozens of shops and restaurants. You will also be within a few blocks of the Alexandria set, as well as the pudding house, the coma house, and other memorable set locations. The church house was featured in the movie Pet Sematary 2. And as an added bonus, the home has a real grave in the side yard, where a confederate soldier is buried.

When you enter the home, prepare to be in awe of the beautiful stained glass window in the kitchen. The main living space boasts 15 ft. ceilings with an antique chandelier. The kitchen is fully stocked. The kitchen is open to the living/eating area where you'll find the walls adorned with art given to Chandler by his fans. A 65" tv is mounted to the wall and you'll find the furniture to be an interesting mix of both antique and new. The original preacher's chair was saved with the church and sits in one of the two foyers.

With 3 bedrooms, one loft, and 2.5 baths, there's ample space for up to 9 guests to sleep comfortably. The master bedroom sits where the preacher's pulpit was originally located. The king sized bed is flanked by two beautiful stained glass windows, and you will be able to see the markings on the floor where the pulpit platform once was. The room also includes an en suite bathroom with a tub, shower, two vanities, separate WC, and a walk-in closet.

The second bedroom has a queen sized bed with beautiful luxury farmhouse-style bedding and a walk-in closet. The third bedroom has a twin size daybed with a trundle. There is also a small loft in this room with a twin sized mattress. This room has a walk-in closet.

A spiral staircase leads to a bonus loft area where you'll find a twin daybed with a trundle.

There is one full hallway bathroom and one powder room.

For Walking Dead fans in town for tours, or for guests who are just looking for a unique place to get away, this house is one of a kind!

Why Gina-Ann Riggs chose Senoia

We have spent many days in the quaint town of Senoia and have grown to love it. We were so excited the day we saw that the church house was for sale. Senoia is swarming with tourists and there are not many options for places to stay. We are happy to offer our beautiful home for guests to get to know this town that we have grown to love.

What makes this house unique

The home is located in the historic district of Senoia. It was originally the Presbyterian Church of Senoia, built in 1890. There is a grave in the side yard. Captain Thomas Peavy was one of the only confederate soldiers from the area to survive the Civil War. The home was featured in the movie Pet Sematary 2. It is one block from Main St. and two blocks from the set of The Walking Dead. Once you are here, no car is needed!

A special place

  • 5 of 5

The Church is beautifully restored and a comfortable space for our group, which was 3 couples. The owners obviously put a lot of thought and resources into making this a standout experience. One doesn’t have to be a Walking Dead fan to appreciate the home but if you are, it would be a thrill to stay here. The neighborhood is quiet and close to downtown. I would return in a heartbeat.

Perfect home for Walking Dead fans

  • 5 of 5

My dad and I visited Atlanta for the Walker Stalker event. We stayed in the charming town of Senoia for two nights. This house was the perfect addition for our Walking Dead weekend. We booked a walking tour with Gian-Ann, who showed us different filming locations, all about 2 blocks from the church house. The house was cozy, and impeccably decorated. We enjoyed playing many games of pinball during our stay. The restaurants and shops are all close by and within easy walking distance. Thank you Riggs family for opening up your beautiful home to us.

Ms. Riggs was super sweet and the house is lovely!

  • 5 of 5

I fell in love with the house the very first time I visited Senoia. The house was lovely and Ms. Riggs was kind enough to stop and check on us as she passed through the area. The house was very clean, it is beautiful on the interior, and the furnishings were comfortable. We hope to stay at the house again! Thank you Riggs family!!

Great location, beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

This renovated church is beautiful. The house was comfortable with lots of little touches to make it feel like you were at home.

Restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance.

If you're a walking dead fan, the decor is extra fun with fan art and WD themed games.

No Malicious Spirits

  • 5 of 5

We were at the church for an extended stay. I was told by a witch that the place had spirits but only good ones. Witnessed some anomalies but nothing unexplainable for a place that old. Nothing creepy. Slept like a baby. Your mileage may very.

Totally updated and nicely appointed. Very comfortable and homey. Love the chandelier! Good luck beating my score on the pinball machine.

Dish TV. Dishes, soaps, towels, flatware, land-line phone, and most everything you might need are already there. Literally a four minute walk from one of the best restaurants in town.

If you stand on the front porch of the house and look to the right, you'll see the walls of the fictional town of Alexandria. Filming is typically going on from May - November. There are several Walking Dead tours to choose from. If you're there on a Saturday, we'd recommend our tour, Dad's Zombie Road Trip. See riggstours.com for more info.
