About Martin Lee
I lived in the Charlotte area for over 6 years and consider it my second home now as I still visit there frequently from my current residence in Houston TX. I purchased this home as a Vacation Home on Lake Norman and found its combination of mountain log with main channel lake view appeal unique and like nothing else I had found in over a year of searching for the ideal retreat. Unlike most vacation rentals on the lake this home was built specifically to be a Vacation Home and this is immediately obvious as your walk through the doors. Enjoy your stay. I want you to return!!
Martin Lee purchased this House in 2006
Why Martin Lee chose Lake Norman of Catawba
I consider myself fortunate to have lived in the Lake Norman area for a number of years and I always look forward to return visits there. As one of the largest lakes in the south east Lake Norman is truly a wonderful place to vacation and as some of my previous guests have discovered a compelling place to consider returning to again and again! In fact I have a couple guests who have now retired to the area as a result of their experience staying in my Log Home and soaking up the atmosphere of Lake Norman and the surrounding areas.
What makes this House unique
- The intemate Master Suite. You have to discover for yourself! - Breakfast on the upper level balcony. - Sunset drinks on the elevated boat deck. - The warmth of natural Log surroundings and the cozy fireplaces. - Evening walks in the surrounding neighborhood which is private and full of interesting homes. - Looking forward to the next visit!

Charming log home on Lake Norman
My family felt welcome and cozy in this charming cabin on Lake Norman. The interior is done in casual "Adirondack" style, but also it has the modern conveniences of Wi-Fi and large screen televisions on two levels. We cooked a delicious Thanksgiving dinner and relaxed with beautiful views of the lake. The cabin was both easy to find and it was simple to get to nearby grocery stores and restaurants. The owner was very responsive when I emailed with a few questions. I would definitely recommend this home to others and would book it again if we come to the area in the future.
Beautiful home with fabulous views!! Breathtaking sunrises!
We had a wonderful week at this property! We had a small intimate wedding lakeside and the grounds and home were just perfect for our beautiful ceremony. Such great memories!! The home is an authentic rustic log cabin that is spacious and has lots of amenities. The furniture and accessories are gorgeous and complement the setting. Bedrooms and bathrooms on all three floors.. plenty of room for any gathering. Our favorite part had to be the sunrise in the morning. We rented a pontoon boat from a local marina and enjoyed the sunrise out on the water with our morning coffee. The boat dock was the perfect setting for evening fishing or dining on the top deck. We definitely want to come back and vacation at this home again in the future.
Thanks to Martin & Randy!
The property is located in a beautiful neighborhood in a quiet spot overlooking the lake. The porches facing the lake are great for relaxing. The house is situated under large shade trees which is lovely, but in turn, it makes the indoors during daylight hours dark. We found the house accomodating and had an enjoyable family vacation week. Recommend.
Perfect, Beautiful, Amazing and Relaxing Home on the Lake
First off the owner and the landlord were amazing. They accommodated our every need (since we had our wedding at this house) they made sure the property was clean, grass mowed, landscape up to par, even layed out fresh pine needles for the week of the wedding. They helped us find local necessities for our wedding (i.e., pest control with a discount personally with the owner). the house was so beautiful. Old style log cabin felt like you were in the mountains until you walk out on the back porch and watch the sunrise over the lake. Everything in the house was clean and smelled great. We have no complaints whatsoever about this property. The lake and dock were awesome for fishing and or swimming. A lot of our family is wanting to rent this home again for a family reunion vacation. Needless to say best place to rent for vacation, anniversary, family reunion, or a back yard wedding.
Thank you again Martin and Randy for all you did for us. You made our dream wedding come true!

Great location. It's a log home so naturally pretty dark inside but cozy. Upstairs is pretty warm, main floor perfect temp and basement pretty cold. All floors very livable. Tap water in kitchen is kind of brown so bottled water is recommended for drinking. Boat house with kayaks is a must! Terrific cove for paddling about. Very nice stay!
Loved the rustic cabin style accouterments. The yard was spacious and the fire pit was well used!!!!
The house had an inviting feel and all of our guests loved it. It is great for large crowds with a spacious back yard and large fire pit. It is very convenient by land or water to everything and we will definitely be back. Marty the owner was a wonderful host and we the house is outfitted with everything you need.
