Unique home custom built for vacation accomodation. Mountain Style Log design with over 3000 square feet of living space on Lake Norman's Main Channel. Furnished and styled for cozy vacation retreat feel and relaxation. Located just west of bustling Mooresville off of HWY 150 with easy access to local attractions such as Concord (NASCAR and Concord Mills Mall), downtown Charlotte, Hickory (Furniture Central) and shopping and restaurants.

Canoe, Peddle Boat, Stand Up Boards and a variety of Kayaks available for rent right on the property. Contact owner for listing of equipment and rates. Also focusing on wedding guest accommodations (property is available for smaller weddings on the lake!) and family reunion events. Movie and music library available upon request.

Interior of this home boasts beautiful woodwork, stone accented walls and fireplaces, and warm ambience throughout. Natural exterior surroundings with special touches such as solar lighting, maintained grounds, extensive patios and fire pit, and wide-open water views.

When we arrived at the property we knew we were in for a great stay. The property was well kept inside and out. Everything we needed for the stay was there. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms well stocked and all the kitchen items we could have asked for. It was the perfect location to host our youngest son’s wedding. The addition of the lake amenities was a huge hit. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway this is the place with plenty of rustic charm. We will return in the future.

We came down to NC for a wedding and stays in this beautiful mountain cabin by the lake. The cabin was cozy and the view was spectacular. Beds were very comfortable. The atmosphere was very relaxing. Will definitely stay again next time we travel to NC.

Peaceful Beauty

Such a nice cabin located near many conveniences but far enough that the night isn't disturbed by bright lights and big city sounds. Lots of fun games to play and plenty of room for groups to come enjoy time together. The dogs enjoyed running around the huge back yard. Comfortable beds and very clean.

Peaceful retreat

We rented to celebrate 5 birthdays. It was a wonderful stay in a peaceful location. There was lots to do on the lake. One small problem was that there were no food items like salt and pepper or cooking spray there. Other than that, it was a wonderful week.

Family from 3 states gathered for 80th birthday

We chose Lake Norman as a central location for relatives gathering from SC, GA, & MD. This property was perfect! The neighborhood and neighbors were great, there were stores close by, and the lake was beautiful. The home was clean and well-stocked. We had a wonderful time and the owner was wonderful. The only differences were that it really sleeps 10, not 12 (the one room is 2 twins and there is no futon), and the lower level gas fireplace is not hooked up. The shower heads need replacing, but honestly not the biggest deal. Really the property was even better in person than we expected. Highly recommend!!

The host was a very accommodating individual that was easily reached whenever we had a question. There was an initial fumble on the cleaning crew so we spent our first few hours with them as they went through the house getting it into order from previous renters. The kitchen is more of a galley kitchen but did have most everything needed to produce meals. The best part about the property is the backyard leading to the lake as there is a really nice fire pit and the big dock. The dock was great for fishing and the covered horseshoes worked out well when we had a massive thunderstorm on Saturday evening. But there are some quirks With this property Like the main floor Is somewhat dark because of the porches. Finding all the right light switches to brighten up the room was difficult enough we had to contact the host to discover where all the switches were. The parking was really good since we were having a family reunion and had quite a few carThe dock was great for fishing and the covered horseshoes worked out well when we had a massive thunderstorm on Saturday evening . But there are some parts works with this property such as the main floor like the is somewhat dark because of the porches . Stormy Easter Weekend

Easter 2023 had high winds and pouring rain all weekend so we were not able to use the water front. The house has a well stocked kitchen for cooking, tv and internet worked well, comfy beds and lots of games to entertain us. Be sure to bring some water because house in on a well. Publix supermarket is only 5 minutes away and a very nice store. Home has lots of character, finding the right light switch was fun exercise for us. Wish we had nicer weather to fish and play in the cove, but maybe next time. Owner was easy to reach and work with. We did day trips to local sights and shops. We ate at Lineberger's while were there as well.

Great location on Lake Norman

I recently returned from my vacation with my children and grandchildren on Lake Norman. There were a total of ten of us. We rented this property because of its unique look, lake location, and that it could accommodate a large group such as ours. The property location is great and good for swimming, boating, and fishing. The area is surrounded with beautiful homes, and we took walks and met some of the neighbors which were very friendly. This home sits on a nice part of the lake with a quiet cove on one side, and open water on the other. The view from the kitchen window is outstanding, however the house needs a good cleaning, and maintenance and we also found the dock to be in need of repair.

Cozy, unique property

This is a unique property in that it is a true log cabin. The space is a little tight in places with the upstairs bedrooms being attic rooms and the furniture being a bit oversized, but there is a cozy feel about it. If your expecting something brand new and boujee, this house is not for you. This is more of a down-home cozy place where you can relax and feel at home. It appears to have been built in the 90's and still has the original bathrooms and kitchen. The countertops have been upgraded and the finished basement with a bar seems newer and is pretty nice. Our main thing is boating and fishing so this house was perfect for us. Our rented pontoon was easy to park on the dock, and the fishing from the upper deck of the dock was incredible. Big catfish, blue gill, and a couple bass right there. All of our kids caught several fish and they had the best time. On the last day we had a fire in the fire pit and did a fish fry on the grill. It was a great time.

Lake Norman mountain style cabin

My family spent five days over Thanksgiving weekend & enjoyed the house very much. The sunrise over the lake was beautiful. My grandson fished off of the dock & caught & released a large bass. I fell in love with the rustic style furniture...there's a book with pictures & information on it. The kitchen & dining area is roomy & we were able to seat everyone together. The downstairs bar with ice-maker was really nice. Unfortunately, we were unable to get the fireplace to work. My only criticism is the carpet.....fortunately, there's mostly hardwood & slate floors...., was stained & a couple of cooking appliances previous renters had been negligent in cleaning. I addressed these issues with the owner & he was going to correct them. Overall, it's a wonderful house & the location is great. Plenty of parking & close to lots of stores....including my personal favorite; The Fresh Market. The house offers lots of good things & very few negatives. It would be helpful to have a notebook of how fireplaces, wifi, TV's, etc, work.

1. No welcome letter, no instructions, no wifi password. 2. Note in the kitchen drawer said boats were unlocked but canoe was locked. 3. Signs said to only use filtered water in kitchen appliances but there was no water filter in the kitchen. 4. Top floor showerhead didn't work. Main floor shower didn't drain. Basement shower barely trickeld out. So we had one barely workable shower for 6 people. 5. Basement sliding door latch won't open. 6. Several ceiling fans didn't work. 7. Nice location, nice dock, but this home definitely needs some love--maintenance and attention to detail.

Nice cottage but well water issues

This is a lovely place, great location and nicely decorated. It's rustic but in a comfortable and tasteful way. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the dinnerware and cookware needed. Lots of stores and restaurants a short drive away. The place did seem as though it hadn't been used in a while (burned out light bulbs, dusty porches and porch furniture) but it was early in the seaon (Easter weekend). Our only complaint was the tap water. It was orange - not just when you first turned on the faucet but always, and I do mean orange. No one in their right mind would drink this water. We had to buy big jugs of drinking water and had no choice but to shower in the orange water. The day we arrived we hadn't had any rain and the water was still orange. The next day it rained, and yes, still orange. It's a shame, because it's a lovely property otherwise. Oh, and no firewood. We decided to bring our dog at the last minute and notified the owner who o.k'd it. Our security desposit was not returned and i assume this is why. However, we should have complained about the water.

Lovely Log Cabin on the Lake

Our group of four adults and three children enjoyed the house so much! I have an eclectic decorating style, and I absolutely loved the "mountain theme" found throughout, from the rustic bedsteads, chairs, dressers and tables to the twig chandeliers and the large wicker moose head The lake is right out the back door, and the upper and lower porches make the most of the view. Two large living spaces on separate floors (each with a cable tv) mean groups can visit separately as well as together. There are enough china and cooking implements to serve 30-40 people, although the silverware for that number might be lacking. Beds are comfortable, even the bunk beds. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked, from condiments to paper towels, to cleaning products, etc. Here is the arrangement of the beds: two bunk beds (sleeping four) with a full bath in the downstairs/basement area. One king bed and one full bath on the main floor. One queen bed with a full bath on the upper floor, across from a bedroom with two twin beds. I had expected the twin bedroom to be by itself on one level, but that was not the case. Instead, the room with two bunk beds is by itself on the basement level. Our only quibbles would be that the showerheads need cleaning or replacing, as the spray is iffy on all three. The refrigerator could be replaced, as the freezer has broken shelves. The dishwasher also has broken racks, making it difficult to wash a very large load of plates. With log walls, the interiors are dark and could use a few more standing lamps for reading or working puzzles. Those concerns are pretty minor for a short stay, as we did manage to take showers, work puzzles and wash dishes : ) I highly recommend this home if you are looking for space and access to the lake. Shopping is located within minutes (very large grocery stores and excellent restaurants), as is I-77.

On the Lake

We visited the Lake Norman area for a family wedding. The location is great being right on the lake with a large yard. Both our three-year-old grandson and our two Labrador retrievers enjoyed the yard and the neighborhood is great for walks. Plenty of beds and separate areas to hang out when you need a break. The house could use a lighting update. We would definitely stay with Martin again!

We purchased this home as a Vacation Home on Lake Norman and found its combination of mountain log with main channel lake view appeal unique and like nothing else I had found in over a year of searching for the ideal retreat. Unlike most vacation rentals on the lake this home was built specifically to be a Vacation Home and this is immediately obvious as your walk through the doors. Enjoy your stay. I consider myself fortunate to have lived in the Lake Norman area for a number of years and I always look forward to return visits there. As one of the largest lakes in the south east Lake Norman is truly a wonderful place to vacation and as some of my previous guests have discovered a compelling place to consider returning to again and again! In fact I have a couple guests who have now retired to the area as a result of their experience staying in my Log Home and soaking up the atmosphere of Lake Norman and the surrounding areas.
