Lovely cottage

We had a lovely long weekend at Primrose Cottage with family. Beautiful setting and lots of walks over Minchinhampton and Rodborough Commons. Very well equipped and comfortable cottage but please update the information and photos about the sofas in the sitting room as we were expecting 2 three-seater sofas and there was one 4-5 seater plus an armchair, which we felt was an unusual combination for somewhere that probably often hosts two couples.

A perfect venue for our 40th birthday family celebration

A very pretty typical Cotswold cottage overlooking horses grazing and visiting deer in the morning! Very comfortable beds, plenty of space for our party of 5 adults but the upstairs bathroom would benefit from a hand held shower. The kitchen facilities were more than adequate- a good sized fridge freezer and range cooker. The welcome folder was very useful and the various snippets about the history of the cottage were very interesting. We would definitely stay again.

Perfect holiday cottage.

Such a cute cottage. Primroses everywhere in the garden, it was easy to see where it got its name. Very well equipped with everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and plenty of towels. Convenient location to the local pub and lots of walks. Loved the area too. Was worried about car parking but shouldn't have there was plenty of street parking

Beautiful location

My parents and I, stayed in this beautiful Primorose cottage. It’s location is amazing, we enjoyed long walks. I would however don’t recommend this cottage for elderly people as the beams that are located in the bedrooms are extremely low, not too safe. But overall we did enjoyed!

A beautiful cottage in a lovely location

We had a lovely time at Primrose Cottage which we booked for a pre-Christmas and birthday get together. The cottage was lovely and comfortable.wihich was decorated for Christmas, It was well equiped with everything required to enjoy our stay. There were good walks from the cottage and we walked down Bear Hill into Stroud. There are nice pubs nearby and we enjoyed a meal at the Bear of Rodborough. We would definitley stay again and recommend the cottage to family and friends.

The cottage was great just a couple of issue. Window in bedroom needs a curtain to prevent light from bathroom.

perfect stay in the cotswolds

Our stay at Primrose was without any complains. They provided us with a cot, a highchair and even a stairgate for our children. The cottage was very clean, well decorated, the front yard was beautifully set with different flowers. The instructions and location of the cottage were well explained so we had no problems finding it. It was a charming, well located, quiet and unique picturesque cottage in the heart of the cotswolds. We would definitely recommend Primrose cottage, especially for families with children.

Primrose Cottage 8-11 December

Overall, a lovely area and very attractive property. The cottage was well equipped, comfortable and full of character. With 5 adults from the same family, the shower facilities were OK but the larger upstairs bathroom wasn't used much because it only has a bath with no shower attachment. Beds all comfortable, kitchen and living room fine for 5 adults but 6 would be a squeeze. We would definitely return to Primrose Cottage. Pubs within walking distance were all great.

What a stay!

Communication from the start was very good and they answered all the questions I had in a phone call The picture box looking cottage was divine. Very quaint including the lovely tended front and back garden. The cottage had everything needed for our 5 nights stay with our dog. There are three ample sized bedrooms but downstairs would be be a bit of a tight squeeze for 6 adults! The Rodborough common was 4 minutes walk and Minchinhampton common about 10 mins walk. Plenty of places to walk from the doorstep! Would definitely recommend and also return in a heartbeat!

5 days at Primrose Cottage

Primrose Cottage was very clean and well equipped. Being an older property means it is a bit quirky, with beams and internal steps, but all part of its charm. The front garden was sheltered and a pleasant place to sit. We didn’t use the back garden as it contains a small pond. This was sadly full of stagnant smelly water which we didn’t want our dog to drink or wade in! There was plenty of room as there were only two of us. Four adults could stay in comfort but six adults might be a bit of a squeeze. Parking is on a roughly made up road at the front but there was always a space. The location of the cottage and surrounding area is very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed walking on the common, visits to Painswick, including the Rococco Gardens, and Cerney House Gardens. Primrose Cottage gave us a good base from which to explore this area of The Cotswolds.

One of the best cottages we've stayed in

We were 6 adults staying in Primrose Cottage and we all felt like we were in paradise! Because it's grade 2 listed, it has been v sensitively updated. The location was so beautiful and peaceful yet near anywhere we needed to go. Overlooking a meadow. I would say it surpassed the advert. I found it reasonably priced with Stay Cotswold. It was spotlessly clean. Comfy beds. Only slight problem was that it sleeps 6 but only seats 4-5 in the front room. Any dealings we needed to make with Siobhan the manager were quickly and politely dealt with so no problems. We are nearly always disappointed by cottages but this one was the opposite. Not many we would return to but this, we would.

Cute cottage in a beautiful location

Primrose cottage is perfectly located between Rodbourough and Minchinhampton Common. Perfect for long dog walks. There are at least three pubs withing walking distance and for any food shopping either drop down to Stroud or Nailsworth. Having horses on the field opposite just adds to the charm of this cottage. The cottage itself is a proper Cotswolds cottage with exposed beams, odd angles, low ceilings. Very cute. However, it needs a bit of TLC. The paintwork is peeling in places and the garden which could be very nice is neglected, overgown. We stayed with our dog and unfortunately the garden is not fully closed off as our dog regularly popped next door through the hedge. Whilst the kitchen was well equipped, a capsule coffee machine would be a great addition. We know this area very well having lived there for over ten years and even with these minor flaws, we would consider staying at Primrose cottage again as its location is perfect.

Primrose Cottage

We enjoyed a relaxed Spring break at Primrose Cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and was clean, cosy and welcoming. Conveniently situated on Rodborough Common , carpeted in Spring flowers, we were able to walk from the door in all directions to explore the area.
