Great location, comfortable cottage and friendly owner.
We enjoyed our four nights at the Bothy. It needed some cleaning, but there was a lovely Henry available to do the job. The location is fantastic, we would book for a longer stay next time.

We arrived fairly late to this property but had received no access instructions and spent some time tracking down first Travelnest and then the owner. On entering the property it was clear it hadn't been occupied for a little while and was not the cleanest as a result. The garden and patio area surrounding the property is shared and appeared neglected. None of this created the best of first impressions. But the cottage is a charmingly adapted original outbuilding and everything is basically functional. A few utensils and sharp knives missing from the kitchen and no towel rails in the bathroom.
We truly enjoyed this adorable cottage. It is well hidden, and not an easy walk to any eateries or stores. The only two difficult things were the distance we had to walk, pulling our suitcase to the front door. And the second was a step down into the kitchen from the living room. We both trip down that at least once. Difficult to remember, especially at night when going to the bathroom. Bedroom was adorable and there was plenty room. The shower is quite small, but there is a bathtub. A television in the bedroom would be nice too.
This was, by far the worst place we have ever rented and we have rented a lot of places. It was filthy. There were mouse droppings in the kitchen cupboards and in the one small pot and one small pan we were to used for cooking (believe me there was no cooking done in them!) there was a dirty pizza encrusted pan in the oven. Dust and cobwebs hung everywhere. The yard was totally unkempt and nothing like the photos. Sad too, because underneath the neglect, were the bones of a beautiful garden. Rotten fruit was all over the sidewalk. Bags of dog excrement were here and there. The view out the living room window was marred by laundry hanging in the rain. Dirty cups were on the table outside. And there was no hot water. The son came over and got the taps in the kitchen to work but the showers were ice cold, even after running them for a long while. I feel sorry for anyone who rents the place and if you do mind how you step.
