The Neighborhood:
Make yourself at home in Brighton and enjoy being just moments from the city’s most loved attractions. Take a quick bus ride to The Lanes — a charming maze of narrow streets filled with independent boutiques, vintage finds, and cosy cafés. It’s the perfect place to browse for one-of-a-kind treasures and soak up the creative, bohemian spirit that gives the city its unique character.
For generations, Londoners have escaped here for classic seaside getaways — and it’s easy to see why. From the famous pebble beach and Brighton Palace Pier to the exotic architecture of the Royal Pavilion, Brighton blends coastal fun with history and culture like nowhere else. Along the promenade, you can hop aboard the historic Volk’s Electric Railway, visit SEA LIFE Brighton, explore the atmospheric remains of the West Pier, or take in sweeping views from the Brighton i360 — perhaps with a glass of local Sussex sparkling wine in hand.
The city’s cultural scene is just as vibrant, with theatres, live music, comedy, drag shows, and art galleries around every corner. Whether you prefer major productions or intimate open-mic nights, there’s always something happening. If you love the outdoors, try cycling along the seafront, paddleboarding, zip-lining, beach volleyball, or simply relaxing beside the waves along miles of coastline.
Nature is never far away either. Head into South Downs National Park for scenic walks and stargazing, or enjoy countryside views at Stanmer Park and Devil’s Dyke. For easy day trips, you can explore historic Lewes, picturesque Arundel, or the dramatic white cliffs of Seven Sisters Cliffs.
Whether you’re planning a weekend escape or a longer stay, Brighton offers the perfect mix of seaside charm, lively culture, and beautiful surroundings — all right on your doorstep.
Getting Around:
Getting around Brighton and Hove couldn’t be simpler. The city has an extensive and reliable bus network, with step-free access on all vehicles, making it easy to travel wherever you need to go. From Brighton railway station, you can head out to the countryside at South Downs National Park or Devil’s Dyke, while other routes connect you to Hove Lagoon, Brighton Marina, and everywhere in between.
Travelling between Brighton and Hove is quick and convenient, with several frequent bus services or a direct train that’s just one stop. Taxi ranks and bike hire are available at both Brighton railway station and Hove railway station, and you’ll find additional bike hire points across the city and in local parks. Cycling is a fantastic way to explore, thanks to dedicated cycle lanes and a scenic seafront path that runs from Hove Lagoon all the way to Volk’s Electric Railway.

Gatwick Airport sits roughly halfway between London and Brighton, just a 30-minute train ride away.
For international travel, Newhaven Harbour is around 30 minutes by train or 45 minutes by bus, offering regular ferries to Dieppe. You’re also within easy reach of additional ferry ports at Southampton, Portsmouth, and Dover, making Brighton a convenient base for exploring further afield.
