Authentic driftwood queen-size bed with a canopy of lights overhead, cave walls that look like they came right out of Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland, a ship deck that creaks like the real thing when you walk on it, a cabin porthole door, and much more makes Castaway Cove AN ADVENTURE instead of just another place to stay! 540 sq ft of fun, with everything you might need for your stay.

Note: Both our listings are on our property in different buildings. Each has its own private entrance, and is completely separate from our home. If you have family coming for a reunion or a group for some other event, booking both places would be a great way to go!

In addition to the queen driftwood bed, there is an ultra-comfortable fold-down memory foam sofa bed, two plush, double-decker ship's berth single beds with individual lights, fans and privacy curtains, as well as a tri-fold memory foam floor mattresses for additional family or guests.

Castaway Cove is in picturesque Waldport, located where the forest and our tidal inlet off the Alsea River meet the Alsea Bay. We have installed a keypad lock which opens with a pin number you choose yourself for safety and convenience.

Our SEVEN FREE KAYAKS -two tandems, four singles & a youth kayak, & a 15 1/2 FT CANOE (for seasoned canoers), and life jackets in all sizes are available to take out every day at high tide right from our bank. The design of the kayaks provides great stability, making them extremely safe and easy to use for even novice kayakers, whether fishing or kayaking. The canoe maneuvers easily and you can launch right from our property when the tide is in!

When the tide is out, wildlife visitors can often be seen, depending on the time of year. Most common are blue herons, egrets, grebes, mallards, eagles and we have had many pairs of mated Canada geese nesting right by our property.

You also are welcome to use our crab traps and clamming gear. Or you can borrow our beach chairs, beach towels, large beach umbrella, and portable propane barbecue, and take in the beauty of any of the gorgeous, unspoiled beaches minutes away that stretch for miles. Go explore the tide pools or go beachcombing for seashells and agates. Or take in some amazing storm watching, depending on the weather. Both the sea wall and the whale observation deck in nearby Depoe Bay offer spectacular views! You might even be surprised by the sight of a whale passing through any time of year!

We are easy to find with Hwy 101 a mile and a half away, and there is ample room for parking.

INSIDE: Well-equipped small galley kitchen has a countertop oven that will cook a 12" pizza or 9"x13" pan, 2 cooktop burners, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, coffee grinder, French press & a 7.5 cu ft fridge. 12 other appliances for your use are on shelves in the laundry room -a large air fryer, blender, electric skillet, big electric griddle, 2 crock pots, Instant Pot, waffle irons (inclosing a Mickey Mouse one), rice cooker, pizzelle maker, breadmaker & hand mixer.

There are three flat screen TVs with Dish & Netflix that operate separately so different programs can be watched, Blu-ray DVD players for movies, Wi-Fi, 4-drawer dresser, luggage rack, hangers, plush spa robes, blow dryer and more... Outlets throughout the apartment suite have USB outlets for your various devices.

The laundry room is free to use at your convenience, and includes basic laundry supplies, iron and ironing board. We will refresh your sheets and towels as you wish!

LOCATION: Perfect for vacation, right in the middle of everything on the beautiful Oregon Coast with Newport and its historic Bayfront on one side, and Yachats (listed by travel guru Arthur Frommer as one of his Top Ten favorite travel destinations in the world) on the other.

Waldport "where the forest meets the sea" as Alsea Bay greets the Pacific Ocean, is home to unique shops and some great restaurants. You can clam in the bay, crab off the dock, fish in the river, and walk the many gorgeous beaches.

The towns north and south offer great restaurants, shops, museums, lighthouses, charter fishing, whale watching boat tours, and more.

The famous Sea Lion Cave is 30 minutes south, and Depoe Bay, with its spectacular whale watching (right from the sea wall or out on a tour boat) is 40 minutes north.

Waldport is in the middle of it all!
