Great view

  • 5 of 5

This location was a good fit for our group. The view was superb. The home was outfitted nicely, particularly in the kitchen. I would definitely stay again. Thanks for offering a lovely place.

I appreciated the prompt communication from the owners when VRBO boggled the reservation.

Great rental

  • 4 of 5

Amazing view!!!! My kids had so much fun. Everything was pretty much provided, as far as kitchen utensils. On our last night, we saw a whale from the living room! I would stay here again. I wish there had been a BBQ to move some of the cooking outside.

A wonderful time at a great price

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful time at a great price. I took a friend from Texas. Who had never seen a whale or a seal in her life. We saw seals daily from the patio and even saw a whale in the bay channel.

They were excellent accommodations and a priceless view for the minimal daily rental fee. The Beachhouse reminded me of the ones we used to use when I was a kid. For those looking for five-star accommodations expect to pay five-star prices. My friend that I spent most of our time outside on the beach or in the mountains hiking and the cabin was a lovely rest spot in the evenings. The hilltop Café is about a walking block away and the sandwiches were excellent and a coffee shop was a 1/4 away.

The little town was nice and quiet with not a lot of tourist hustle. Being only 15 to 20 minutes from Newport and 10 to 15 minutes from numerous state parks made it a perfect location to rest and enjoy the sights.

I enjoyed it so much that we will be back again in August and for future trips to Oregon this will be first on our list.

Thank you again to the owner for being such a gracious host.

Beautiful view!

  • 5 of 5

You know how when you see some wonderful photos of the view of a beach house you kinda have to think if this is for real? .Well, the photos of this place is real, in fact the photos doesn't even do justice to the nice ambience, the high windows that allows you to see a full view of the ocean. It was so gorgeous, the kitchen was well stocked with the the necessities you might need, the bed was so comfortable. Everything was beautiful. We will certainly stay here again.

This house is all about the view

  • 4 of 5

This is an odd looking house, but it met our needs pretty well, provided us with an incredible view, and the price was right.

The breakdown of good and not-so-good:

1) There is tinted film on the large picture windows in the living room; this is nice because there are times of day that you would need sunglasses without this film. I would've like to see some privacy shades though; neighbors are close on both sides and able to see you, especially at night. I realize a lot of people would be fine with this; we're just a bit more private.

2) The kitchen is well-stocked with all manner of supplies and helpful tools.

The microwave completely lost power during a five-minute use; we checked the electrical panel and everything appeared fine. About 10 minutes later, the microwave beeped and was functional once again. The pots and pans are badly in need of replacement. It's likely been quite some time since they were non-stick.

3) If you're sensitive to chemicals & scents, the sheets and towels have been washed with scented detergent. All of the hand soaps are scented. There are scented candles (with lids) sitting out. I appreciated that this is a smoke-free and pet-free rental; they just need to add fragrance-free to the list.

4) There is an exterior door that is not very secure and could benefit from a more solid door and deadbolt. This was kind of an issue for us and probably the biggest thing we'll consider before deciding whether to return on another trip.

5) The house is also well-stocked with books, games, puzzles, and some movies. It has a nice little stereo system too. The owner has done a nice job of making visitors feel at home.

6) The instructions for renters are detailed clearly and it took no time at all to accomplish the cleaning up tasks required before check-out.

7) This is a great location for taking off in either direction to see the best of the central Oregon coast.

8) The view: this is the best reason to choose this house over the others. You have about a 180-degree view of beautiful ocean, bay, and bridge to look at. We saw many sun-bathing seals and even a whale swimming in front of us. We were treated to a glorious sunset. Watching the changes between high and low tides was very interesting too. Who needs other forms of entertainment when you have all this going on?

We had a very good time here and will consider returning.
