Good Reunion Location

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a great time there. We would go back.

The host was helpful and considerate. The hosts home is close but we hardly knew they were there.

It is a treed island in the middle of a working farm. We could spread out but everyone was forced to stay close together.

The kids really enjoyed the hammock lane. I recommend bringing hammocks. The whole place is on a slight hill. Be aware if planning to tent camp.

Lack of WiFi kept the tweens off tablets and talking to each other.

Lots of beds and bathrooms...just not in the same place. There is a short walk between the beach house and the bathrooms. Not a real problem just be ready to walk your toothbrush up the hill.

The kitchen water has a slight phosphate taste it is safe just not tasty. Bring a filter or a few gallons of water for drinking.

The reservoir had awesome cliffs but was 20 minutes away and you have to swim across to get to them. Bring a few kayaks or be ready to rent them.

The great price point and value for big families. You won't be unhappy.

Beautiful Property

  • 4 of 5

My family and I stayed here for a family reunion. We had 32 people in our group. Many of the teens/ young adults chose to camp/hammock on the beautiful areas around the property. Regarding sleeping arrangements, it is helpful to understand that the sleeping area is the guesthouse (with beds for 14) and the beach house, which is attached to the guesthouse (with beds for 10 - which are all single beds). But for all 24 people sleeping in these two structures, there is only one bathroom. It is a Jack-n-Jill bathroom that can only be accessed by the two bedrooms, so the people sleeping on the sofa couch, daybed, and all the people in the beach house have to enter one of the two bedrooms to access the bathroom (which is a little awkward at night). There are, however, more bathrooms up at the clubhouse which has 3 toilet rooms, 2 shower rooms, and 1 full bath. There is a total of 4 showers available between all the structures. Also, there is no WiFi but there is cell phone service. The clubhouse was perfect for family dinners and gatherings and extremely well-stocked with multiple crock pots, large serving dishes, knives, cutting boards, etc, - all you need to feed a large group. Highly recommend bringing your own bottled water as the well water does have a distinct taste. There were plenty of chairs and tables for everyone to sit together and for us to have a program honoring my parent's 60th wedding anniversary. The beach house is adorable and the property in general is very peaceful and beautiful.

The property is amazing, so much to do and Jennifer was so accommodating. We had our wedding there and Jennifer put up with my million questions and multiple trips to look at things but was kind and welcoming every time. Truly paradise! Our wedding guests were awed by the views and sunset.

It really was a little piece of paradise!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 50+ members held a family reunion here from Mon - Sat in July and it was just wonderful. My entire family kept commenting on what a gem of a place it was and how perfect it was for our extended family. The club house is very large and accommodated not only our meals, but was big enough for us to play some family games, hold a dance, and lip sync competition. There was enough seating and tables for all kinds of configurations. The cooking facilities were excellent for large meals and there was enough fridge, freezer, and oven space for everything we cooked.

The grounds and scenery/backdrop were beautiful and we loved the daily sunsets. We held a family olympics with multiple events on the various lawns and green spaces. The children loved the water slide, the playhouse, and the sandbox and no one was ever without something fun to do. We had tons of hammocks set up in the hammock paradise for relaxing and sleeping and the campsites offered privacy if wanted or lots of space for multiple tents if desired.

The hosts were kind and accommodating and helped us with things as we needed them. We went swimming at the reservoir one day which was fun and refreshing. Since I was the one who booked this place, I felt some pressure for finding a good spot and everyone agreed that it was just perfect. The rooms were all tastefully decorated and in very good condition. The place is even cuter than the pictures would have you believe. I never heard any complaints about the place the whole time we were there and I'm sure we will consider the place again when we plan another reunion. Definitely a great place.
