About this property

Blacktail Inn & Stations

Our 20 acres of farm land is centered in the Beaverhead Valley, approximately 5 miles north of Dillon, MT. It offers spectacular views in every direction of 5 different mountain ranges.

We designed the 1,700 sq. ft. Inn to cater to needs of Fisherman, Hunters and Tourists alike. With 2 master suites and a bunk room, we can accommodate up to 7 guests.

Beautifully styled, the Inn is furnished in a rustic western decor, with many of the furnishings produced from materials reclaimed from this very property and valley.

The Inn has two common areas with luxurious couches for relaxing and socializing, a large and well-equipped kitchen, and a spacious dining area.

The master suites offer 2 beautiful and private, custom-tiled full bathrooms, while the bunk room shares a common full bathroom space.

In the mornings and evenings, the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets can be experienced from our spacious second story wrap-around deck. This area is perfect for outdoor hosting and BBQs, and offers a tranquil view of the horses and livestock grazing the surrounding valley and mountainous backdrop.

The Inn is uniquely situated above a modern horse stable, and operates seamlessly with our horse boarding operation. Guests will enjoy a peaceful and private stay with all the charm of country life.

HUNTING TRIP
My son, husband, cousin, and two hunting friends (5) stayed for a 10 day elk hunt. They LOVED this place! The countryside was beautiful and the property was immaculate. It’s only 3mi into Dillon for groceries or a meal. The accommodations look GREAT online, and are even NICER in person. The top of a horse barn has been converted and is warm and cozy with a gas fireplace and handsome leather sofas. Full kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of towels and blankets. There are horses in the stables below, so be prepared for a bonafide ranch experience, smells and all! (We loved it.) The hosts, Cory and Nikki, live on the property about 75yds away, available only if we needed them. Very nice and personable couple. This group of 5 hunters each found the Blacktail Lodge to be quite special! They would definitely recommend it and can’t wait to return!

Nice but problems
The place is very nice looking. Location is okay. The problems are; there were hundreds of dead flies on arrival with doors closed they kept coming in. The master had lots of flies and moths. No screen door. Flies in sink and tub every day. This is due to the place being over a horse barn. You must climb 17 stairs every time you come in. Not a problem if you are in good shape. Driveway is not graded and has little gravel. Secure your teeth. The plumbing in master sink is unacceptable. You can’t use it without getting wet. The faucet handles are backwards. The internet service does not work most of the time. It just keeps shutting down and says “no internet” When it works it is dial up speed. I called with no response. If you have work to do, you will e using your hotspot. The place is well equipped with towels, cookware, etc. Nice fridge and appliances, good barbecue. It is a mixed bag. I wouldn’t stay again.
