For viewers and potential renters, this is our experience with these guests. 1. The NEST is a smart-home thermostat system. This is an AI learning product that automatically turns-off AC when it detects no one in the unit and turns-on when it detects presence. The guests were unfamiliar with NEST and kept adjusting causing the thermostat to go into learning mode and delay the turn-on AC longer than the usual time it would take. This additional delay frustrated the guests and they requested us to put the NEST system at a fixed temperature that we obliged to. All the bedrooms in the unit have ceiling fans that helps with the air-circulation. We instruct our guests that we are happy to have them set their comfortable temperature on the NEST, but not make frequent adjustments to the NEST. We feel the lack of familiarity of NEST appears to have frustrated the guests in giving us a bad review. 2. Coffee Pot:- Upon communication by the guest that they were having trouble with the coffee pot in the unit, our property manager shipped a brand new coffeepot and courtesy bag of Kona Coffee through AMAZON PRIME. 3. Fridge:- Yes, wear and tear happens. As we understood from the guests, there was ice buildup in the ice maker that is not uncommon with fridges. This is easily addressable with some warm water and was suggested. The guests did not bring it up when the PM checked back in with them, so the PM thought it was resolved. 4. Washer:- A previous guest had damaged the washer door. The washer is fully functional and needs a little lift to close the door. We are in the process of getting a new door, but it takes time to get parts from mainland to do repairs. 5. Toiletries:- The starter kit is to get the guests started while they get settled into the unit. The guest is responsible for any remaining toiletries needed for their stay once the starter kit is completed, and this has been communicated in the house rules. The PM talked to the reviewer’s husband on the phone about this and let know that she’d be happy to have the cleaning crew drop off extra items. He said he was fine and would be happy to go to the store. Not sure why the misunderstanding occurred. We are the kind of owners that like to give renters space and privacy. After all, people are on vacation and don't want to bothered. Our goal is to have our guests a comfortable stay in our unit.
