The house is filled with light and very open, with high ceilings and a 1000sq. ft. kitchen/great room with floor to ceiling windows. The original 1873 Farmhouse is connected to the great room via a wood-paneled design room. The main downstairs living area has three bedrooms which are all on the same floor and sleeps 8 in beds. The front bedroom has two queens along with an en suite, the middle bedroom has a queen and the third bedroom has a king sleigh bed. The design room can be transformed into another sleeping quarter with an air mattress and the reading room has a twin pull out couch. We have extra bedding for those who'd like to crash on the couches. You are more than welcome to bring the whole family and set up camp as you see fit. The base nightly rate includes two guests, each additional guest is $35/person/night. We chose this pricing structure to accommodate parties of all sizes.

We fell in love with the Hudson River Valley and everything it has to offer from the abundance of wineries, farms, orchards, hiking trails.. We love the artistic community in this area and often frequent Dia Beacon, Storm King Art Center, and local galleries and festivals. We have lived across the United States from California, Chicago, Florida, North Carolina and have now decided to make the Hudson Valley our home. This area provides a coziness and certain slowness that we indulge in as city transplants.
Mark&Whitney purchased this House in 2016
Why Mark&Whitney chose Town of Marlborough
When we found the farmhouse we instantly felt a connection and a duty to restore her to her former glory. The house and property were in quite disarray and we have/are slowly and methodically renovating our way through the house. The house boasts over 7,000 square feet of unique spaces and the grounds have an abundance of cypress trees, meandering grape vines, two ponds and a beautiful stream. The former pool was filled in by the previous owner but we have plans on restoring it soon!
What makes this House unique
When this house was built in 1873 as the farmhouse for a 1000 acre farm they took their time positioning it in the perfect spot, it sits on top of a little knoll, faces east for beautiful morning light and has a large back deck for watching the sunsets. We have restored many of the Italianate details and have kept the color scheme and decor to rustic farmhouse. The house is perfectly situated between Highland, Newburgh, Poughkeepsie, Beacon and Middletown and is a stones through away from some of the best and oldest wineries in the country. The Walkway Over The Hudson has some of the most stunning views of the Hudson River and hiking trails are everywhere. Kingston and Rhinebeck are only about a 45 minute drive north and have an array of farm to table concept restaurants, and the Culinary institute is just across the river.

Lovely Weekend Getaway
This charming historic Hudson Valley farmhouse is, in fact, so charming! My boyfriend and I stayed for a short weekend getaway. Whitney and Mark have something really special for their guests. Part of the home was built in the late 1800's. It has a special, cozy feel to it. The kitchen is amazing for home cooks and chefs. The house is actually huge and great for a bigger crowd or perfect for a couple who want a giant space to themselves! Whitney kept in touch all weekend and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. I can't wait to come back and enjoy the house again when it's warmer out. It's very close to wineries and cider breweries in the area. There's no TV-- but get over it! Turn off your phones and don't sit on the couch staring at the tube-- get out and enjoy what this area has to offer.... you won't be disappointed.
Such a lovely couple! Josh and Nanda came to the area to go hiking and explore the nearby breweries. They were very respectful of our home, were clear in communication and were a joy to host. Highly recommend as guests and can't wait for them to stay with us again! Cheers
Beautifully restored/renovated country farmhouse.
We rented this property for our daughter,son-in-law and 7 grandchildren to make their stay in our area a more comfortable experience. We all fell in love with this beautiful property.
The house is spacious, beautifully decorated, mixing modern convenience with an old country home charm. The large kitchen/family room was perfect for sharing meals, playing board games or just "vegging" on the very comfortable couches. The back yard provided more than ample space for safe outdoor play. Mark and Whitney were excellent hosts, on call if there was a need, but never intrusive. From oldest to youngest the vote was unanimous...we'll be booking another week next summer.
Great place to stay!!
My family and friends rented this place for the weekend to do a winery tour and celebrate my future wedding. It was great for a small group with plenty of space for everyone. We loved it. Whitney was so helpful. I would rent again in a heartbeat.
Great Stay at the Marlboro Farmhouse
A charming home and couple in a beautiful setting. Would enjoy staying at Mark & Whitney's farmhouse again in the future. Very welcoming and a pleasure to stay at the Marlboro Farmhouse.
Lots of space to spread out
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marlboro Farmhouse. It accommodated our party of seven perfectly, and could hold more. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and neat and comfortable and the house stayed cool (we were on the first floor) without the use of A/C. The kitchen/dining/living room area is super spacious, and there are a couple other cozy sitting areas for anyone wanting quiet time. We also enjoyed the fire pit while stargazing two nights. Trips to Hyde Park and West Point are easily accomplished from this property, with a quaint little town center about 5 minutes away. House and property still have a few rough edges from years of neglect but nothing to negatively impact your stay. Will stay again if visiting the area. I gave 5 stars because its exactly as advertised and accommodating.
Perfect for our (extended) family stay!!
We had several family members from all over the country in the Beacon area for a family memorial. Not only was this house perfect for accommodating a large group that was staying at this house, it was also perfect for hosting a dinner and post dinner events for all the other family members staying nearby. The large open indoor area and the spacious outdoor area, including gathering at the fire pit, was ideal. Our host Whitney was more than accommodating making sure we had everything we needed. While the house is in a beautiful rural setting, it is still close to nearby sites and activities. Highly recommend!!
