The house is filled with light and very open, with high ceilings and a 1000sq. ft. kitchen/great room with floor to ceiling windows. The original 1873 Farmhouse is connected to the great room via a wood-paneled design room. The main downstairs living area has three bedrooms which are all on the same floor and sleeps 8 in beds. The front bedroom has two queens along with an en suite, the middle bedroom has a queen and the third bedroom has a king sleigh bed. The design room can be transformed into another sleeping quarter with an air mattress and the reading room has a twin pull out couch. We have extra bedding for those who'd like to crash on the couches. You are more than welcome to bring the whole family and set up camp as you see fit. The base nightly rate includes two guests, each additional guest is $25/person/night. We chose this pricing structure to accommodate parties of all sizes.
Our newly renovated 1873 farmhouse is spacious yet cozy and ready to be enjoyed!

We fell in love with the Hudson River Valley and everything it has to offer including the abundance of wineries, farms, orchards, hiking trails and museums. We love the artistic community in this area and often frequent Dia Beacon, Storm King Art Center, and local galleries and festivals. We have lived across the United States from California, Chicago, Florida, North Carolina, New York City and have now decided to make the Hudson Valley our home. This area provides a coziness and certain slowness that we indulge in as city transplants.
Mark&Whitney purchased this House in 2016
Why Mark&Whitney chose Marlboro
When we found the farmhouse we instantly felt a connection and a duty to restore her to her former glory. The house and property were in quite disarray and we have/are slowly and methodically renovating our way through the house. The house boasts over 7,000 square feet of unique spaces and the grounds have an abundance of cypress trees, meandering grape vines, two ponds and a beautiful stream. The former pool was filled in by the previous owner but we have plans on restoring it soon!
What makes this House unique
When this house was built in 1873 as the farmhouse for a 1000 acre farm they took their time positioning it in the perfect spot, it sits on top of a little knoll, faces east for beautiful morning light and has a large back deck for watching the sunsets. We have restored many of the Italianate details and have kept the color scheme and decor to rustic farmhouse. The house is perfectly situated between Highland, Newburgh, Poughkeepsie, Beacon and Middletown and is a stones through away from some of the best and oldest wineries in the country. The Walkway Over The Hudson has some of the most stunning views of the Hudson River and hiking trails are everywhere. Kingston and Rhinebeck are only about a 45 minute drive north and have an array of farm to table concept restaurants, and the Culinary institute is just across the river.

Excellent wonderful experience owner was amazing we had the best time
The house was warm clean and comfortable
Beautiful home in Marlboro, NY!
We had a fabulous time at Mark & Whitney’s home. The home is close to many wineries & cideries. The cute little town of Milton is close by. Our only regret was not being able to spend more time at the house to enjoy the amenities. It was the perfect location for us! The leaves in the fall are amazing!
Beautiful Old Home
This was a wonderful property with a history and the owner Whitney was amazing. She did not hover, but she was available and she was very warm and welcoming! She even picked fresh peppers from her garden with us! The property is beautiful and it is perfectly decorated :) The only thing I did not like was that I didn't know that this house has multiple units. We had the bottom level while there was another group in the upstairs. This was not an issue and we only shared a driveway, I just wish I had realized this sooner (could have been my fault so I'm not blaming anyone!)
An eclectic, welcoming place to stay.
We were in town for a nearby wedding. We stayed with another couple and there was plenty of room. The home is well kept and a mix of old and newer styles with interesting items well placed throughout. We slept well, the kitchen is well appointed and we appreciated the coffee beans and grinder already there! We had the opportunity to chat with Whitney and appreciated her friendliness and attention.
We would definitely recommend a stay here if you are looking for room, comfort and a very responsive owner.
Very comfortable home
Six of us stayed so comfortably at the farm house and really enjoyed our stay there. It was very clean and well stocked with plenty of room for all of us. The owner, Whitney was very helpful.
My best friend and I had a lovely time, the house is really spacious and so comfortable, and everything was super super clean. We loved the huge lounge and open kitchen, and enjoyed the garden at sunset. Location is good, lots of hiking trails near by and wineries, and a few miles from Poughkeepsie and some nice restaurants. I will definitely come back when i am in the area. Whitney and Mark were very welcoming and great hosts.
