Beautiful place with so many comfortable amenities. Loved the front view of the pastoral setting and the back view of a little pond. Great place to get away. David and Cheryl were excellent hosts, very responsive.

We enjoyed our stay at this quaint cottage. Everything was sparkling clean and the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry rooms were well stocked with necessary supplies. The view of the horse farm across the road is absolutely beautiful every time. We had a relaxing escape and used the location to do day trips to Walkway over the Hudson, Cloverbrook Farm and West Point. The interior has been updated to suite the farmhouse style of the home. The exterior could use a little sprucing up. Overall an excellent country stay and we would definitely recommend this property and the hosts.

Peaceful weekend getaway

We had a great stay. The house was clean and cozy. The hosts were also very available and accommodating when arrived there early. The property is close to hiking and 15 mins from New Paltz with great restaurants and shopping Would recommend!

We had a wonderful time and the house was lovely. The house is situated in a very peaceful area surrounded by woods, a pond, and pastures and it is very quiet. There are three very comfortable bedrooms and two bathrooms, one with a tub and the other with a shower. There is a living room on the front of the house, and in the rear is the kitchen, dining area, and laundry room.The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking for a group. We have stayed in many vacation rentals, and the kitchen was one of the best equipped we have seen. There is a grill outside along with an outside dining area on the patio in the rear.The house was very clean and comfortable. The view of The Gunks is beautiful and it is a short drive up to the Mohonk Preserve park. Communication with the hosts was excellent and they were helpful with answering questions and providing local recommendations.This was one of the most enjoyable places we have ever rented, and we will be back.

Peaceful Getaway

Beautiful fall trip!

Extremely comfortable home in a peaceful rural setting. Close to some excellent hiking trails, biking trails, wineries, breweries and orchards. We’d never visited the area before, when we return we hope this home is again available!

Perfect spot for family to celebrate my son's graduation from SUNY New Paltz! The location is 15 minutes from town. Beautiful setting with all the accommodations of home!

Owners were very responsive to our requests. Cottage is nice and it backs up to a very nice riparian area that our kids loved exploring. Very quiet.

Peaceful and comfortable

Beautiful scenery surrounding this quiet, clean home thoughtfully stocked with everything you might need and a welcome bottle of wine. Owners are very responsive. We enjoyed our stay so much last year, we returned this year. Highly recommend this rental.

Girls birthday weekend

Very nice house. The property is stunning. The house was well outfitted and we had everything we needed. Went for a hike in Minnewaska preserve and that was gorgeous. Lombardi’s Restaurant was also great and only 1 mile from the house. Would absolutely stay here again.

Lovely get away home

This home is very well set up for couples or groups with children. The master bedroom is private with its own bathroom and the other two bedrooms are very nice as well. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked. The grounds are beautiful. The house is convenient for all the activities you would wish to do in this area or you can just sit in the yard and enjoy the beautiful view.

Had a great weekend. House was perfect. Setting was beautiful. Owners highly responsive and vested in our enjoying our time. The weather was fantastic making for wonderful hiking. Spectacular Views

Truly enjoyed our week long visit to this lovely home. Everything was provided including a welcome bottle of wine. The view from the house is truly stunning with the rising cliffs of the “Gunks” nearby. Plenty of places to hike yet close to the restaurants and shops of New Palz. The hosts are very receptive if you should need help. I highly recommend a visit

Charming and Beautiful property

My friends and I had a wonderful weekend in this charming Gardiner house. The inside of the house is prettier than the pictures. It was very clean and neat. The owners were always responsive and helpful. The property is very nice and faces a horse farm with beautiful views of the mountains. We had such a nice time.

Leave your troubles behind as soon as you turn onto Shaft Road. Enter the home of David and Cheryl...and YOU are home. Loved the experience. Close enough to New Paltz. Mattresses made to keep you resting for hours. Thank you for a wonderful family retreat.

Family weekend with our West Point cadet

We had a wonderful weekend with our son who is a West Point cadet. House is an hour from West Point. We relaxed, enjoyed local restaurants, a distillery is 2 miles from the house, and the fairgrounds had a craft show which was 5 miles away. The mountain and horse farm are amazing views! House was clean, beds comfortable, and hosts are very nice and easy to contact if needed.
