Centrally located, most everything is either a quick walk, bike or car ride away. The house is located a mere 15 minute walk to Easton Beach. If it's Gooseberry Beach or a quieter “3rd” Beach you prefer both are a 5 minute car ride. Visit the mansion on Bellevue located only 2.5 blocks from the house or walk to the Cliff Walk and take-in the view. And of course for the more adventurous, you can ride your bikes to any or all beaches and attractions.

Great place in a great location!

This is a very nice condo, with great finishes and loads of space. We had a family gathering and the extra living space upstairs was great once we put the kids down. Location was great easy drives to beaches and walks to coffee, restaurants, parks and ice cream. Would happily stay again next season

Amazing property and location!

The house was impeccable and very nicely newly renovated. Right down town so an easy walk or Uber wherever you need to go. Tomas and Eileen were both very nice and quickly responded to any questions we had before and during our stay! Would definitely go back and rent this house again!

Wonderful experience at Santo Mar

We had a wonderful stay at Santo Mar. The house and grounds were immaculate. The beds were extremely comfortable. We appreciated every detail Eileen and Tomas put into their house that made our week there feel like home. Cannot wait to stay again. Awesome location!!

Great way to start the summer

Wonderful weekend. We parked the car and walked everywhere. Spacious rooms with very comfortable king bed. Living/kitchen area perfect for relaxing with close friends and an outdoor deck with new grill. Can’t wait to go back

Acerca del anfitrión

Anfitrión: Tomas and Eileen Esteves

After digging a little deeper we discovered, it was owned by the same family for multiple generations, a Portuguese family who had owned the property since 1762. The house was in disrepair and the last permit pulled to complete work was in 1952. We bought it and lived through a huge learning curve of what it meant to rebuild a house in Newport. Three years to the day after we purchased the property was the first night we spent in the house.

Surprisingly, through all the building and construction Jesus remained untouched in the yard. He now has a place in the back garden and helped us name the property Santo Mar which translates in Portuguese to Saint Sea. My husband immigrated from Guimaraes, Portugal as a teenager and later moved back to run his family’s bed and breakfast in the Algarve. Creating a comfortable vacation property is in his blood.

The location is amazing. You can walk to all the restaurants and mansions. We love to walk the cliff walk. This beautiful house in the heart of it all, has modern features with a backyard made for relaxing and grilling with family. Parking is hard to find in Newport but here you will have two coveted spots.
