The lodge on AuTrain Lake is a 3 bedroom, log home overlooking the west shore of beautiful AuTrain Lake within the Hiawatha National Forest. The Lodge is only 2 miles from Lake Superior and just 11 miles west of Munising and the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore!

The top floor bedroom has a Queen bed. The main floor bedroom has a queen bed. The ground floor bedroom has 2 twin bunk beds. The ground floor also has 2 sets of (4 total) full beds and 2 pull-out queen beds. Sleeps up to 12. 3 full bathroom. Jacuzzi tub. Pool table. Gas fireplace. Large deck, grills, bonfire pit. On the a west side of AuTrain Lake! Lots of Privacy! UP living at its finest!

Great house for large group in great location

The lodge exceeded our expectations for a large group near pictured rocks. The view of au train lake was beautiful. The inside was newly renovated in knotty pine, and the open first floor with large windows overlooking the lake was great. The location was a little out of munising, but we found we preferred it. Lake superior and Au train beach was a short drive and was a surprisingly beautiful large sand beach that wasn't crowded and the northwoods ice cream shop across from the beach was a nightly hit. Au train falls and laughing whitefish falls were close by. The only note i would make is that the property's beach access to au train lake is a little aspirational given the steep hill and woods - go to au train beach. Would definitely recommend.

Cabin itself clean and good amenities. There is no lake access which is accessible safely so do not plan to swim or kayak/fish. The tub in the basement was backed up, property management notified and we never got a response or a fix during our stay so had a tubful of water. Multiple portable air conditioners did not work properly or properly cool the basement. A group of men showed up trying to check in the day before we were scheduled to check out as the property was double booked. Would not stay again.

Wonderful and Relaxing

My husband and I spent a few days at this property. We were very comfortable here and enjoyed all the comforts of this home. It is a great location as well. Highly recommend

Great family house

We stayed here for a week and had two families, 4 adults and 8 kids. The room/bed set up was great. The basement sleeping area isn’t an actual bedroom, just two sets of full over full bunks and there is a really small room off to the side that has a twin over twin bunk. The kids loved having their own space, including the pool table. The 3 full bathrooms was great and the kitchen had plenty of appliances for all your cooking needs. The lake is beautiful and the kids had fun fishing right off the shore and dock. There is a pretty steep sand dune you have to go down to get to the beach area, which was the only downfall. However, the owner did mention they have plans to add some stairs. The fire pit area was really nice, as well. There is a ton to do right in the immediate area. Our favorites were the Au Train Falls and the Au Train beach! Close drive to Pictured Rocks, too. Overall we had a wonderful time at this northwoods cabin!

Stunning Place for Pictured Rocks Trip

Highly recommend this cabin when staying with multiple families or a large party. Plenty of space for everyone with lots to do on and off the property. My family had a wonderful weekend here and we're hoping to do it again next year. Only 30 minutes from Pictured Rocks for hiking, even closer if doing a boat tour. The provided kayaks were a lot of fun. The appliances were up to date and worked without any issues. Check in/out process was a breeze and communication was great! If you're looking to stay near Munising, this place is perfect!

Beautiful home and location

The house and location are beautiful and the accommodations were great. The view of the lake from the home is really lovely. We really enjoyed our stay and made wonderful memories. The only drawback I can think of it that because of the steep terrain right by the lake, the dock and beach area was inaccessible to the older people in our group so this might be good to know if you plan to go fishing, boating, etc. Overall though, excellent.

Beautiful home with stunning views

Wonderful location. Clean home with plenty of space. We misread the bedroom situation. There are only 3 actual bed rooms , with one having a set of bunk beds, what is assumed the 4 th bedroom is actually the 2 sets of full size bunk bed and they are a part of the open basement space. This caused sleeping arrangement issues, however; there was still plenty of beds. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed this home.

Excellent house and location!

The house was perfect for a snowmobiling trip. 3 full bathrooms and plenty of sleeping options made it an ideal cottage for 3 families to share. Very "up north" feeling home with modern appliances (2 very nice HD TVs with a ton of channels, 2 sets of washers/dryers, an additional fridge and freezer in the basement), plenty of room to set gear out to dry, enough room to park our 3 trailers, and a great place to relax after hitting the scenic trails in the area (the lake is not directly accessible from the backyard by snowmobile as there is a ledge going to the water, the trails are a short ride away taking the road) I would definitely stay here again! Thanks Erin!

Wonderful updated cabin in the woods

We enjoyed everything about our stay. It has all of the modern comforts of home while nestled in the woods on a beautiful lake. It’s a short drive to a great beach on Lake Superior and also to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The hosts are very responsive and accommodating. We will definitely plan to stay here again.
