De nuestra familia a la tuya, ofrecemos una cabaña rústica con cocina completa, sala de estar y 4 dormitorios. También hay una litera con 2 camas individuales disponibles para que pueda extenderse un poco si lo desea. El paseo marítimo tiene una hermosa playa de arena para los niños con una suave caída de fondo arenoso. El lago Whalley es lo suficientemente grande para una lancha a motor, pero no demasiado grande para que te pierdas. La exposición occidental maravillosa hace que los mejores atardeceres sean visibles desde la cubierta o el muelle. Una gran cabaña familiar y una verdadera joya del norte!

Wonderful vacation

What an incredible stay. The property is perfect, the beds are comfy and the beach is so ideal for little kids. We had a fantastic holiday and enjoyed the area very much. Would love to return :)

It is a beautiful location and the cottage was as advertised. The beds are quite high but once in them they were comfortable. There are lots of seating areas outside. Our favourite spot was down by the water. We enjoyed swimming a few times but unfortunately the weather wasn't very cooperative.

Beautiful little space of heaven on Earth!! Wonderful place to make memories with family!

A wonderful cottage kitted out with everything you could possibly want! Greg and Amanda have done a great job setting the cottage up and very responsive to any questions you may have! The watercraft and beach area were excellent and so relaxing!

Great Cottage!

This was our first time staying at Greg's cottage and in this area; and everything lived up to expectations. The cottage was very well equipped with everything needed to enjoy the week. The outdoor amenities were great; beautiful dock for fishing and swimming, and a nice beach area for kids. Definitely recommended!

Bigger than it looks

We stayed for 2 weeks our first week was with younger kids they loved the beach area The water is nice and shallow Second week older adults we also loved the sandy beach and the night time fires Would definitely recommend this cottage

The location, outdoor amenities, indoor amenities and overall cleanliness were great and exactly what our group needed for our cottage vacation. The only things I would reconsider, were entirely my own choosing/fault, but in retrospect choosing a two storey place without air condition with our recent heat waves and a place with only one washroom for the 7 of us were things we would consider when booking for next year. However it might be challenging to find a cottage with those ameneties.

Great Family Vaca

Greg and Amanda were amazing hosts! The cottage had everything our family needed to make our week comfortable and enjoyable. The beach is wonderful for kids with lots of chairs and toys to enjoy. The covered porch and deck were great to get out of the sun or relax when raining. The fire pit was large with a great view and lots of fire wood. Overall, the cottage was great and we are definitely thinking about returning next summer!! Thanks again Greg and Amanda!!

Good week at Whalley lake

Good except the cleanliness of the cottage. I am not sure it was even cleaned between guests. Also the cottage is dated for the price per week. Torn screens, very old stove, no toaster.

I guess you can’t please everyone. We have a perfect 5 star track record. There is a hole on the bathroom screen however the toaster(oven) was brand new this year. The old stove is an antique and a part of the decor, the fully functioning glass top oven/stove isn’t a new shiny stainless steel version though ;) No comment on the amazing sandy beach or new covered porch? When you consider 10 peoples accommodations, the price I believe is fair. After re reading previous very satisfied guest comments, I won’t take these things to heart. Best of luck elsewhere next year.

Great property

Everything was as advertised. It was a beautiful property and kept well maintained. Lots of options for outdoor seating - near the water, up at the cottage, in the sun, in the shade, etc. The water was excellent with a great temperature. Sandy bottom and no weeds - walk-in or jump from the end of the dock. Some grassy areas for games too. There was lots of room inside even with 8 of us, and the bedrooms were a generous size too. The hosts provided us with all of the necessary info at the right time to receive it. Great experience all around.

Family Time

This was our first time at Sunsets and Campfires. It is truly a great family getaway. There was 9 of us from age 2 to 18, 20, 25 and up. The pictures on the site do not do this cozy cottage justice. It is so nice. There are great modern updates but the owners were still able to keep it quaint and unique. The sandy entrance was great for all but our 2year old granddaughter loved it. We did canoeing, kayaking, boating, peddle boating and explored the lake. We were able to fish from the dock and caught various fish. Our week was not long enough, family time is the best time and this cottage easily accommodated all our needs.

Family Fun

All was as advertised. Beds are comfortable and the entire family slept well. Dark Night sky’s enabled amazing view of stars and Milky Way. The young children enjoyed the beach and shallow, clean sandy entry. Water is deep enough for adult swimming off end of dock. The lake has areas of undeveloped shore to invite exploration and good fishing spots. The dock is big enough for all to lounge and the shaded seating was a hit. Local hummingbirds provided lots of entertainment. The town is close providing good food and friendly service. Enjoyed the area’s local trails and the Screaming Heads impressive sculptures and gardens. Don’t hesitate to book this Cottage for Sunsets and Campfires.

Perfect vacation

This cottage is exactly as advertised. Clean, beautiful property, enough space for a large family and all the fun stuff you need to make your stay a memorable one (movies, board games, canoe, kayaks etc.) Communication with the owners was quick and they seemed like really nice people who want renters to enjoy their cottage as much as they do. The cottage has a sandy beach and very shallow water (great for kids). You can jump off the dock (no seaweed/ rocks) but if you are tall be sure to tuck your legs so you don’t hit the bottom. Very quiet lake with few boats and no waves. Limited ‘things to do’ away from the cottage - very small town with a LCBO, small grocery store and a couple restaurants. That did not bother us because we chose to stay by the water every day. Highly recommend this place if you want a true cottage experience with all the amenities you need to make it a fun stay.

2nd time and not our last -- we loved it again!

Our second year, this time for two weeks. The cottage was super clean as we expected from the prior year. We appreciated the new covered porch area with lighting and fan, as well as the new pedal boat. We enjoyed the great swimming, two kayaks and lawn for games of bocce and frisbee. So nice that wood is provided for the campfire pit. To comment on the previous review which broke the 5-star record (which is still fully deserving in my opinion), the white stove/oven worked perfectly and the new toaster oven was a great addition. Screens take a beating from renters so I think this point should have been forgiven or mentioned directly to the owners who are very accommodating and kind - we were late to leave as van wouldn't start but no problem as they boosted our battery when they arrived! Thank you Greg and Amanda! We will be back!

A little piece of Paradise

The cottage was very clean, cozy and comfortable. The sandy beach area was so relaxing and the shallow sand entrance into the water was perfect for all ages. The owner was excellent to respond to any questions. Would definitely recommend this cottage. We will be booking again for next year!

Perfect spot for families

A beautiful spot on a quiet lake! So many spots to take in the beautiful view. Cottage was very clean and spacious - exactly as pictured. Greg was a very responsive and excellent host. Perfect spot for young kids to play on the sandy beach! We’d love to return!

Beautiful week away

The property was great. We spent a lot of time in the lake. Nice sandy beach and shallow entry was great for our small children. The water was also really nice and warm! The children spent a lot of time jumping off the dock and my husband enjoyed the kayaks. I know others mentioned the water - we found it just fine and didn't use the bottled water we brought at all! Everyone loved watching the chipmunks and hummingbirds! We have also never seen so many dragonflies! Overall a great week!

What an excellent experience!

We could not be happier with our stay at this lovely, well equipped and appointed cottage. 5 star clean! The beds were comfy. Loved the deck, the stretch of grass for the family gatherings around the fire pit and games and the beach for swimming. Kayaks were great and permitted exploration of the lake. Clean and warm water. Lastly, Greg was super with communicating on a timely basis. Best testimonial is fact we already booked for next year! Thank you Greg and Amanda!

Amanda and Greg purchased this beautiful cottage in the spring of 2018. We have invested a lot of time and energy into making this vacation property a memorable one. We have both lived in the area for our entire lives and now have 2 teenage daughters whom also adore this spot.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Whalley Lake is located at the intersection of Hwy 124 and 520. 2 hours north of Toronto up the 400 to Parry Sound and across the 124.
Full sun all day long and the Westerly exposure makes for the most beautiful sunsets.
Close to the town of Magnetewan with amenities such as LCBO and the general store for all those things you forgot. Every Saturday there is a wonderful local farmers market for all your fresh fruits and veggies among many other things.

Beautiful sandy beach and dock for boats and fishing. Fantastic campfire pit with plenty of seating. Flat level grassy lawn for sports and beach volley ball.
