Cliff View Inn, Escapada en el río Jackson

Cliff View Inn está ubicado en el corazón de las montañas Alleghany de Virginia, y es la escapada soñada de los amantes de la naturaleza. Tenemos acceso privado al río Jackson, un tesoro de pesca con mosca, junto con caminatas y ciclismo en el sendero escénico del río Jackson. También hay un campo de golf de 18 hoyos en las instalaciones con excelentes vistas a las montañas y al río.

Cliff View era originalmente una cabaña de troncos anterior a 1900. Sufrimos una gran renovación en 2000 para brindarle la experiencia de alojamiento única de hoy. Con 9 habitaciones individuales (con baños privados), comedor comunitario, áreas de estar y porche, y una gran cocina de uso completo, su estadía puede ser tan personal o compartida como prefiera. Cliff View es ideal para grupos grandes que desean un lugar íntimo para reunirse, o para una estancia acogedora para familias y
parejas!

Los huéspedes tienen acceso a toda la propiedad. Esto incluye una hermosa cocina completamente equipada, comedor, sala de estar (TV y reproductor de DVD), salas de estar, porches, balcones y espacios de terraza al aire libre. Espere excelentes vistas !! No vivimos en la propiedad, pero siempre hay alguien disponible por teléfono / mensaje de texto para responder cualquier pregunta que nuestros huéspedes puedan tener.

College friends and family

We stayed at the inn with college friends and their families, a mixed group of adults, kids, and teens. There was plenty of space to gather and with most of the bedrooms separated from the kitchen/living spaces, it was easy to manage a variety of sleep schedules. The area was quiet and Covington was close enough that it was easy to go pick up groceries or takeout.

Scott family reunion

We had 15 adults and 1 child stay for 3 nights and we had plenty of room for everyone. The Inn was clean and the beds comfortable though 2 of them "squeaked" when you got in or turned over. The kitchen area is a little small but was furnished enough for our needs. We had seating for all 16 in the dining room where the view is outstanding. The manager Jen was very helpful. When asked to turn the AC up as many of us were too cold someone was there promptly to change it for us. We are already making plans to go back again next year.

This Inn was our base camp for a short golf trip. We were playing at The Old Course at the Omni Homestead resort, but didn't want to spend the 4 figure rate for rooms and the associated extra expenses. Only a 25 minute drive away... The Inn is on Cliff View golf course, so we had a bonus round there. The course is not fancy, but challenging with beautiful scenery.Our host, Jen, was fantastic! Outgoing, friendly and fun. The restaurant at the course was closed (seasonal), so she offered to cook us dinner and serve it to us in the Inn, so that we could relax after golf (as well as enjoy our own spirits). The meals were great, home cooked style. The kitchen is well stocked and had we decided to cook our own, would have been a breeze. There was a nice grill, with plenty of fuel as well. Bonus, a fire pit with plenty of wood...we used it!The Inn itself has very cozy, with a bedroom w/bath for each person in our group. Not a 5-star hotel, but perfect for our group, at a fraction of what it would have cost us to stay at the resort.Sadly we were rained out of our last planned round at Homestead. But Jen, in her can do spirit, offered to allow us to make it up at Cliff View, by moving things around with scheduled tee times. The rain was coming our way so we had to pass. But given the location, the great host and fun course, we promised to do the same trip again in the fall, if Jen will have us.We were there for a golf crash pad, but this was so much more.

Relaxing

I highly recommend this property. Perfect retreat for small groups and family reunions or couples looking to reconnect with the great outdoors. The food at the Cliff View restaurant was delicious.

If you have a large family this place is perfect. There was more than enough room for my family of 20. The house is set in a quiet location with beautiful view.

Weekend with friends

The Cliff View Inn was the perfect space for our group of friends to spend the weekend! Plenty of rooms with different bed options, and it was great that each room has it’s own bathroom. It was very clean, and very well stocked. Thanks for a great stay!

Quaint and secluded

We had a bit of trouble to locate the check-in place since we arrived to the location late in the darkness. But, once we checked in, staff were very friendly and nice, showing us all the facility and surrounding area. It is a great place for those who seek "do not disturb" for few days.

Awesome Hiking, Biking, Golf Trip!

Stayed 4 nights at the Cliff View Inn and we had a spectacular mini vacation. There were 14 of us and the Inn was plenty big and gave all couples there own room and bathroom. The deck has a gorgeous view of the 2nd green on the golf course, with the cliffs and mountains in the background! You have direct access to the Jackson River Scenic trail which has crushed rock trail for excellent biking (an easy ride) pretty flat. Saved us having to pack the bikes up and drive to a trail. We played some golf and found the golf course one of the most unique courses we have ever played. Beautiful views and in good shape. Hole 14 one of the coolest holes you'll ever play!. The owners and their team were super helpful and catered to all our needs. We loved going up to their pub and hanging out with them! Great food at a great price and also the Full Nelson was a great IPA brewed in a neighboring county. Lot's of big TVs to watch football! Fabulous accommodations with excellent service and warm hospitality. Well done!

Very nice property

We visited with 4 families and had a very good time. The property is spacious and is in a very picturesque location. It is near lot of walking trials and we spent considerable time in the nearby state and national forests. We would definitely plan to come back whenever we feel a need to unwind and enjoy nature.

Comfortable Golf Course Living

Very nice property; private and quiet, yet in the middle of the golf course. Very large kitchen / dining area, and well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms. Was larger than we expected. River is beautiful and close by. Golf carts are a real convenient way for getting around the property.

Memorial Day Weekend Reunion

We were 3 families meeting up for some outdoor fun over Memorial Day weekend. 6 adults and 9 kids ranging from 5-14yrs. There was plenty of space for everyone! The inn was clean upon arrival and Lisa the host was very easy to work with. We did have two minor issues during our stay but both were fixed promptly upon request. There’s plenty of fun activities to keep the kids busy and active within 10-40min of the inn. But the inn itself is right on the Jackson River scenic trail for biking and also fishing on the river as well as golf of course. Would highly recommend the inn for a large group!

Fun, spacious vacation

There were 10 adults and 8 children and we stayed for 6 days it was clean, comfortable, with lots of space for all. We swam and fished about a half mile away. We were able to drive to areas for hiking, mountain biking, swimming, tubing--all from 15-50 minutes away. It was a perfect get-away, especially during the pandemic!

Great spot for our family of 15! Good gathering spots, but also space to be alone. Fireplace IS functioning despite Home Away saying it wasn't. Wish we could communicate with the managers more personally as the time draws near for rental

Absolutely Fantastic

This was an absolutely incredible property, perfect for our large family, and larger extended family who came by for brunch. Lisa and Susan were wonderful hosts, very responsive, and even kind enough to drop off some grocery essentials our first night! I would 100% recommend this place, and will keep in bookmarked for the future!

Perfect place for a reunion!

I can't speak highly enough about our stay at Cliff View Inn! The area is beautiful, and the inn itself was a perfect place to get family and friends together for a long weekend. The inn combines the privacy of a hotel (nine individual bedrooms with their own baths) with the shared intimacy of a cabin (great common areas - inside and outside - to hang out and a fully stocked kitchen that could handle us cooking/eating as a group of 16). Leading up to check-in and once at the inn, Lisa and her family did a great job of making sure we had all the info we needed and that we felt at home. Hope to return soon!

Great Property - perfect for our family reunion!

The proprietor, Lisa, was informative and responsive. The lodge was lovely - tasteful decor and interesting history. We were able to comfortably seat and feed 16 at the large table with a view of the beautiful cliff side. Too cold for golf, but the this did not stop us from exploring numerous hiking trails. Overall, the Cliff View exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend - especially for groups.
