About Penny and Greg Bane

Lake Anna has been a gathering place for our family and friends for 20 years. We enjoy the beautiful sunsets, outdoor firepit by the water, swimming in the lake and boat rides at sunset. Nothing is more beautiful than the early morning peacefulness of the water and nature at Lake Anna.

Penny and Greg Bane purchased this house in 1997

Why Penny and Greg Bane chose Central Virginia

You can't beat the full beach with shallow water for kids (1-2 fee) and deeper water for boats. The 300 ft sandy beach is one of the only large beaches on a private property. Great sunsets to watch as you sit on the beach. Best for 2-4 families with kids!

What makes this house unique

300 ft beach with shallow water on one side for small children and a deeper side to the left with a dock for a boat.

We have a fabulous firepit and face the beautiful sunsets over the lake.

New floors and new management

  • 5 of 5

Great weekend of swimming and volleyball. Penny,Greg and Tom are very helpful with all of our needs and even had wood for an outdoor fire.

Floors were brand new and a new refrigerator too!

Can't wait to go back with or friends and family.

Awesome Family Getaway

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I enjoyed a week at Lady of the Lake with our two daughters and their families in early August 2016. The layout nicely accommodated two families upstairs and we grandparents in the main level master bedroom. The lawn and landscaping are well maintained. The grand-kids enjoyed the sandy beach and splashing in the warm lake water. Two fridges (one brand new) kept the food and drinks for the ten of us well chilled. The ceiling fans and central air kept us comfortable in the record summer heat. We enjoyed the deck and grill during the few cooler spells. Even had a large gathering of extended family and friends from neighboring counties. The extra folding tables and chairs were well utilized as was the afore-mentioned grill. While a considerable drive (15-20 minutes) by Northern VA standards, the Food Lion in Mineral was well-stocked and clean. We stopped there on the way in and went back once during the week. A trip to Anna Cabana lakefront restaurant was well worth the drive. Lastly, the next-door neighbor was very hospitable and the caretakers and owner were very helpful and responsive to our needs. Will consider this place again if its availability matches our 2017 summer schedules.

Beautiful retreat for the international Women's group

  • 5 of 5

I trust all is well. I am writing this letter on behalf of the Women's International Fellowship(WIF) to thank you for your generosity. A few weeks ago, you made your beautiful lake house available for us to use for our 3rd annual prayer retreat. We are happy to report that we had a wonderful time of fellowship in the Lord. It is our prayer that the love of God will continue to bind us together as we continue to labor in his vineyard.

Once again, thank you for your kindness and we pray that the Lord will show you kindness as you have shown kindness unto us.

Attached are some of our pictures during our time of fellowship at the retreat. May heaven smile on you and your loved ones.

Sincere Appreciation,

We loved the porch and new bathroom!

Loved the Beautiful Home and Private Sunset Beach!!

  • 5 of 5

We had three families stay at Lady of the Lake for the second year in a row and can't wait to get back. The home is beautiful and has a large open kitchen and den area. There was plenty of room for three families and children. What is unique and relaxing is the large, private sand beach that faces the lake and incredible sunsets. With an almost unlimited amount of firewood, our families sat for hours every night from sunset to late evening--talking, relaxing and savoring first the gorgeous sunsets and then the Milky Way stars in a way we never see them in the DC area. Even our teenage sons enjoyed the fireside evenings, not to mention the S'mores and camfire cooking.

After evenings (and days) of relaxing on the beach, we had fun exploring Lake Anna on our waverunners. It's a beautiful lake with lots of coves, and we enjoyed the water warmed by the nearby nuclear plant. To swim in a lake in northern Virginia in October is something we couldn't do anywhere else, and, yes, the water is safe.

Hiking through the rural roads was also a popular past-time for us. The bottom line is Lady of the Lake is a beautiful home on a tree-lined lot, but the backyard beach and Lake were an R&R magnet that will bring us back again...and again.

Ladies Retreat at Lake Anna

  • 5 of 5

I had the pleasure of spending the weekend at Lady of the Lake in early November. It such a relaxing weekend with an amazing view of the lake. The size was perfect for our group of about 10 ladies. The most amazing part of the stay was the fire on the beach down by the lake. (Private beach may I add?) Even though we stayed in November, the cool air did not keep up from enjoying the lake. This home is a beautiful place to just get away and enjoy some relaxation time! I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who loves the lake!
