About this property
In the very HEART of old town, a serene and sophisticated Provençal appartement
L'Isle sur la Sorgue is a story-book, open-hearted village in the heart of sunny Provence. Lovingly called 'The Venice of Provence', with five pristine canal waterways, filled with ducks, geese, and swans, flowing throughout the village. L'Isle sur la Sorgue has many ancient water wheels, secret gardens, and a lively bi-weekly outdoor market. The weekly antique market is an astonishing stroll, especially with a pastry in hand, from one of the half-dozen nearby bakeries.
Our spacious, air-conditioned apartment is located on the first floor of a building constructed in the year 1700, and a few steps away from a 12th Century church. Several of the church's fifteen sublime gargoyles face our living room and bedroom windows. We call our apartment 'Coeur de l'Arquet', honoring the Arquet canal, which flows between our apartment and the Notre Dame des Anges Church, which is home to 222 angels.
'Coeur de l'Arquet' apartment has soaring ceilings, a sophisticated and charming Provencal ambiance, a newly installed state-of-the-art kitchen, a resort-quality luxurious bathroom, and a serene bedroom dedicated to sweet dreams.
***A SECOND BED, A LUXURIOUS QUEEN INFLATABLE, IS AVAILABLE FOR ANOTHER COUPLE, OR CHILDREN, FOR THE SPACIOUS LIVING ROOM***.
Within the intimate center of our village, are exuberant wine, cheese, pastry shops, galleries, museums, cozy restaurants and playful bars. The best is Florian Courreau's 3rd generation hand-made chocolatier, called La Cour aux Saveurs, blocks away. Close by are 300 showrooms featuring authentic period antiques and fine art.
A few blocks away are alluring and extensive hiking trails and also kayaking destinations, and also a bus stop, taking you to numerous iconic nearby villages and markets, including Fontaine de Vaucluse, Carpentras, and Roussillon. We also have a train station, opening opportunities to visit enchanting Avignon, the Cote d' Azur, Paris, Spain, or Italy.
Minimum reservation two nights. So many hand-crafted cheeses, pastries, antiques, and chocolates, so little time. Long-term rental available.

The kitchen is contemporary and new, and full service. We have prepared full dinner party meals and love entertaining in the large living space.
