I was born and raised on Maui and come back at least every year. Normally we stay with family, but I wanted to treat the kids to a beachfront condo and this did not disappoint. The lanai and master bedroom are feet from the ocean and the constant wave noise reminded me of my childhood camping on the shore. I loved the sound of waves crashing, but it is fairly loud if you're not used to it. Sunset views are amazing. They have a large conch shell in the condo and I taught my kids how to blow it with everyone else at sundown. The kids loved having easy access to the pool and beach where you'll constantly see sea turtles and possibly a Hawaiian monk seal. The beach itself is okay for wading, but there is a rocky outcropping near the shore that you'll want to avoid if wading. It's not the best location for snorkeling as just past the rocks is mainly sand until you reach a dropoff so you won't see as much wildlife as you would at some other locations with more reef structure. There are also a couple beach chairs, a cooler, and a small boogie board in the condo. The condo itself is dated, but the location more than makes up for it. The kitchen has what you need to cook, but you'll be disappointed if you are a home chef. Knives are cheap and chipped/dull, pots/pans are very worn, and you'll need to supply your own cooking ingredients other than salt and pepper. That being said, I still cooked up great meals. In summary, it's not a perfect condo, but you can't beat the view.
