ALL Pets Welcome, Private Beach, Tiki Hut, Fenced Yard

Cozy, quiet home with a privacy fenced backyard for you to enjoy. You can relax in the hammock & listen to the sound of the ocean or BBQ your catch of the day. We are across the street from the public beach (lifeguards, restrooms) or you can use our adjoining private beach and enjoy the view from the 2-story tiki hut. I love to watch pelicans skydiving in to the water for their dinner.

For your pets, not only is the backyard fully fenced but we also have pet beds, bowls, towels, toys and crates to welcome the furry members of your family. Size, type, breed and number of pets is not an issue and there is no pet fee. The WHOLE family is welcome.
10% of profits are donated to local animal rescue groups (my husband is laughing and says "as if" we could keep it down to that amount. haha.)

ur little neighborhood has a dog park at the end of our street and there is an off-leash dog beach 4 miles north of us. Little dogs may prefer the river side where it is shallow for 8-10' out. Local pet-friendly restaurants are listed in our House Book.

We recently finished remodeling the home and think the kitchen is gorgeous. What people rave about, though, is the rainforest showers in the bathrooms!
The home is fully furnished with linens, pillows, cookware, beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, BBQ grill, as well as spices, condiments, FAST internet, WIFI and cable TV.

The back of our neighborhood is on the river and provides a pleasant view for watching the sunset. For daytime activities, you can use the boat ramp to put in your boat or fish from the adjacent dock.

One mile down the road is livelier Jensen Beach with restaurants, surf rentals and music. Dogs are allowed on one end of this beach and surfers are on the far end of this beach. Walton Rocks is a more secluded off-leash dog beach 4 miles north which offers scooper bags, water and restrooms.

May - September is Sea Turtle egg-laying season. Talks and night walks are given by the Oceanographic Society here on the island., so you can watch as they come up out of the surf and lay their eggs on the beach!! If you're here in other months, you can enjoy a tour of the House of Refuge and see the rescue work that they do with the giant turtles.

We had a wonderful time, would have booked for next year but unfortunately booked. Only CC complaint is need to have hooks in bathroom for more towels hooks to hang up towels, we had 6 of them.

Cozy Vacation Home Near the Ocean

We are so glad we selected this property for our weekend getaway with our dog. We loved the hammock and the two-story tiki hut right on the ocean, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Our dog loved the fenced backyard and the many places to lounge inside.

Beach House

This was such a nice place to stay... perfect for vacation and our dogs loved it. Lots of lizards to keep the dogs busy. Definitely would stay here again. Everything you need was already in the home.

Comfortable pet friendly beach house

The house was clean and in a great neighborhood within walking distance to the beach. Beds were comfortable and the shower was fantastic! Great backyard to bbq and bump the volleyball around. So pet friendly - loved the pet beds, toys and treats the owner provided. Our family (including the dog) had a fabulous time enjoying uncrowded beaches in the area. Convenient and quiet. Host provided lots of area information and was responsive.

Vacation with Molly

We had a great time, especially our dog Molly. She loved the dog treats and toys waiting for her when we arrived. Molly loved the backyard and chasing the geckos around the yard. The house was fully equipped so all you need are your clothes and food.

The area and the property itself was beautiful. Jan made sure the house is ready for your vacation. She kept in contact with me continually since they had a storm the day before we arrived. Pet friendly beach cottage within walking distance to private tiki hut

Spent the month of March at Jan's beach cottage. Everything you would need is provided. Dog beds, beach chairs, towels and umbrella. Plenty of room in fenced in yard for our 2 greyhounds to stretch their legs. Backyard also has large outdoor table, grill and hammock. Kitchen is completely stocked and the house can easily accommodate a family of 6. The community also has it's own dog park and private tiki hut to enjoy the beach & ocean. If you want to enjoy Jensen Beach/Hutchinson Island, we highly recommend Jan's cottage at Beach Club Colony Tony & Tricia😎

Great time

Wish weather had been better. But this place is fabulous. Rode bikes everywhere, even over bridge to Jans. There is so much to do and Jan and Van have a book with it all laid out. After we found the tiki across the street it was our favorite place for a cocktail at night. Van suggested we watch the full moon rise and it was amazing. Relax and enjoy is all you have to do. And our dogs were in heaven. Be careful if the have man of war? Warnings. That is a jellyfish type thing and our beagle ended up in urgent care. We think it was from one of those. Just an allergic reaction but of course Jan and Van were there to help with that. Great place

Return to Paradise

First of all, I can’t thank Jan and Van enough for opening this home as a beach rental. It’s gorgeous with open spaces, clean surfaces and new fixtures and appliances. The rain showers are amazing. There are three great size bedrooms for adults and an extra room with bed for your pup. The private backyard is a tropical dream. The pictures do not do this listing justice and you will be pleasantly surprised and excited to spend a few days just across the street from the beach. I spent summers in this neighborhood growing up in the 80’s and 90’s visiting my grandmother. Nothing has changed and it’s still the peaceful island oasis I have always dreamed of retiring in. From here you have access to restaurants, shopping, a neighborhood dog park, and a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. The beach is across the street and access to the river is in the neighborhood. I have been wanting to bring my dog to my favorite beach on my favorite island and my stay did not disappoint at all, even in October. This house is geared toward people with pets and you will have a great time while here. I can’t wait to book again. FYI, the owners have provided every convenience. There’s also a book of things to do and places to eat that captures literally everything you can and should do when it town. It’s like having the local expert at your fingertips. I’ve been to a lot of beaches and that’s just Nowhere like Hutchinson Island.

We just returned home from stay at this property, and I can tell you we will be returning! The house was perfect for our family, including our fur baby. It was stocked with all the essentials, and had LOADS of toys and amenities for our dog. We went to Jensen Beach for the fishing, but the weather for the majority of the weekend prevented us from taking our boat out, but there are parks under the bridges in the area to fish from and get out of the rain. Our daughter caught a 65 lb tarpon from the park the first night! Because of the weather, we were only able to visit the beach once and it was still very rough so we didn’t get to stay too long, but our dog had a blast playing in the waves. The information and instructions the owners put together, were very informative and detailed which we appreciated.This was our first time renting a vacation home and I can say, after this experience , it won’t be the last. A huge thank you to Jan and Van for making our weekend enjoyable!

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how incredibly clean and well-kept everything was. The home had every accommodation you could think of—from kitchen essentials to beach gear—it was all there, which made our stay super easy and comfortable.The location was absolutely perfect: just a short walk or drive to gorgeous, peaceful beaches that weren’t overly crowded at all. Beach Rental

Great location when visiting the treasure coast area. Lots of good restaurants close by and the beach is right across. The house is well maintained and we had plenty of room for us and our 4 pets. Would highly recommend if you are visiting this area.

About the host

We do animal rescue and love to bring our dogs here along with the foster dogs. I do NOT like being separated from them and have found that other folks feel the same way. So that others could bring ALL family members on vacation, we've created this pet-friendly environment for them.
We let everyone run their feet off, playing with the waves and enjoying the dog beaches. It's so laid back for them and us to swim in the water, bake in the sun and then lay out in the backyard while we BBQ on the grill. We love our days here!!!

Why they chose this property

My husband and I love the beach and enjoy owning this home in a quiet neighborhood. We like to stay here and wake up 'at the beach'. Although we're only 30 minutes away, it's a different feeling to wake up at the ocean than to commute here. It gives us that 'island feeling' when we stay here and relax. It's also nice to walk the dogs at night and just bop across the street to be with the waves and watch the moonlight on the ocean. sigh.

What makes this property unique

Bringing your pet on vacation!! Smelling the salt air and hearing the waves even while relaxing in the backyard. Enjoy the off-leash dog beach at nearby Walton Rocks.
