A Peaceful And Picturesque 4 Bed Island Home With Stunning Sea Views
The house is a large, 4 bedroom family home incorporating 2 king rooms (one en-suite), a double bedroom and a large room with two single beds.
The grand lounge has a wood burning stove, reading corner and stunning views of the moor, ocean and village.
The dining room has a large, solid wood, 10 seater dining table made from the reclaimed railway sleepers from St. Pancras station when it was renovated to make room for the EuroStar terminal.
The kitchen is large and modern and there is a utility area and internal drying space for clothes or wet walkers/fisherman/adventurers.
The large, gallery hallway, is also a great space to grab a book and read in silence.
All our bedrooms and our dining room and snug are equipped with digital HD televisions.
There is a large bathroom with a walk in shower and slipper bath which also looks out over the ocean and loch.
There is a toilet located on the ground floor as well.
Outside the property there are 4 distinct garden zones. There is the large lawn suitable for a whole host of your own sports adventures or relaxing in the sun and breathing in the refreshing sea air.
There is a fenced area which acts as a sun trap on warm days. It includes a rare example of a Monkey Puzzle tree, our kennels and wood store and the designated smoking area (our property is non-smoking throughout including e-cigarettes).
Then there is our vegetable patch. Here we grow our own potatoes, carrots, herbs and rhubarb. Finally there is the old croft. This area, uniquely preserved, has the ruins of old croft buildings that you can explore and also, usually, has a friendly sheep or two that would enjoy a slide of toast in the morning or, their favourite, a donut (plain!).
Please note that we welcome guests of all ages but we are unable to provide a cot, baby safety gates or plug covers. Please consider this when booking with babies/infants.
We do allow dogs but we do restrict them to certain parts of the property eg the kennels, garage, utility area, kitchen and dining area.

Lovely spacious property, perfectly situated for exploring Lewis and Harris.
Lovely, spacious, well kept property which was a perfect base for our stay on Lewis and Harris. We were fortunate to have great weather so we spent most of our time out and about but the property was a very comfortable place to stay and we found the kitchen great for rustling up hearty breakfasts each morning.

Thanks for coming to visit with us! Always great to have you stay and spend some time on the Island, especially when the weather is with you! Safe travels.
Very comfortable 4 bedroom home. Excellent supply of kitchen utensils and SO Many wine glasses! Lots of space for quiet time on those rainy days. Highly recommend this accommodation.
The West-coast location of this property is ideal for easily accessing and enjoying the many delights of the island. In our many holidays on the Inner and Outer Hebrides over the past 60 years, this is the most comfortable and best-equipped property we have stayed in. Just perfect for our family of seven and the dog. Thank you!

The house was kitted out with everything we could possibly have needed. Wonderful views and great location for visiting all parts of the island. Would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay on Lewis.
Beautiful location and very well equipped property
We had a lovely few days in Brue, the scenery is beautiful and great location for quiet dog walks. The house had everything we needed for cooking and just generally having a relaxing visit to Lewis and Harris. Would definitely stay again.

A brilliant stay in beautiful Lewis. The house has everything you could ever wish for and is very comfortable and has lovely beach views. Only 20 minutes from Stornaway and easy access to many of the must see tourist sites. Would definitely stay again.

Thanks Emily. Very glad you enjoyed your stay and was great to have you with us. We hope you come back, the island always has more up it's sleeve throughout the year.
Safe travels.
We had a fabulous stay at Mac‘s house. We were warmly welcomed by Steven, Mac‘s Dad who took time to give us helpful tips and places to visit. Unfortunately, our stay was far too short.
perfect stay! House is amazing - so comfortable and well equipped. Great base for Lewis and Harris exploring and really handy to be so close to Stornoway on a good road. Loads of space and things to do in the house, and wonderful view over the loch and sea.

Thanks for staying with us and glad you enjoyed the home but more so the island! Welcome back anytime of course! Safe travels.
A lovely big property with stunning views and plenty space. This has got to be one of the best stocked holiday rentals, it felt like a home from home.
We were 4 friends travelling together and it was perfect for our weekend together and to enjoy some individual time out. The location was great.
The welcome gift was a lovely touch.
This was an outstanding property with plenty of space, with an extensive kitchen/dining room which could seat 10. A Tv lounge separate from an additional large lounge with no tv suited all guests wishes. Four large bedrooms (one en suite) including one with two single beds on a half landing which our twins loved! The location in Brue overlooked a salmon loch with sea views adjacent. Walking access through the Croft to the loch was possible and permitted. The preparation of the property was also excellent, including individual toiletries packs for each guest. Wi-Fi was adequate for signal. This property is worthy of more than five stars!
Loved this property and location. Very comfortable home away from home, well equipped, lots of space and lovely views to the Atlantic. We enjoyed exploring this north-west corner of Lewis from cliff top walks with nesting birds at the lighthouse at Butt of Lewis with waves crashing over the rocks, to the Callanish standing stones, to the black house at Arnol, and many more ancient sites. We made day trips to Harris and enjoyed the spectacular mountain, sea and beach views at Luskentyre and Scarista, and had a windy and awesome 9 holes of golf at the fabulous Isle of Harris golf club. Highly recommend this holiday rental!

We are so pleased you had a great time and thanks for the kinds words regarding both our home and the island! It was a pleasure to be your host and glad you packed so much in. Can't wait to welcome you back. Safe travels!
Arrived at Ullapool.
Sent home as the wild weather meant all sailings were cancelled.
was told we could not sail until the Wednesday. We were due home on the Friday. Unfortunately the weather was against us!
Near the end of an unassuming lane is a little treasure. Acutely, not so little. Despite the initial confusion of there being 3 number 7's in Bru, the property photo is taken from the point of view at arrival, so it was clear to me, if not everyone else in the car. All the other reviews tell you about the property, my lasting impression was the views looking out. We had quite a mixed bag of weather so looking out over sea, loch, standing stones, green fields, moors while the weather changed was sick/awesome/beautiful (delete none age group relevant adjective). Loved it.

Thanks so much for coming to stay with us. Pleasure to have you and we feel the same about that view! Safe travels.
The house was attractive and had everything that was needed and more. The house was very clean and well maintained. The owners were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for the things we wanted to do. It was a pleasure to stay there.
The house was home from home . Everyone agreed. We appreciated the dog friendly garden.
The weather wasn’t great but when the sun shone the island became more attractive.
It’s a pity places still suffered from COVID restrictions.
We had to leave early as we had an unexpected funeral to attend which hung over us and added stress highlighted by the difficulty of getting off in time to attend.

We were very happy that you chose to stay with us and, whilst the weather on the edge of the Atlantic, is always unpredictable we do hope you will come back and see us again. We would love to see you and the pooch anytime of year. Safe travels and thanks for staying with us.
