We pride ourselves in being thoughtful and ensuring that you have all you require to make your trip confortable and memorable!
Blending History with Modernity. Originally a 19th Century Printing House built by Gustave Eiffel (later used by the Resistance to print their papers in secret), the Luxury Designer Loft combines modern, luminous, open space with original Parisian architectural design elements.
Guests' favorite features include: - Gustave Eiffel wrought iron beams - floating passageways - 8m (26 ft) ceilings - a double-height cathedral window flooding the property with natural daylight - artist murals paying tribute to the original printing house and its artistic signature - a gym & relaxation room featuring an original 1st Century Roman wall (identified to be the original perimeter wall of 'Lutetia', later to become 'Paris', built by the first Roman settlers).
In the Heart of Paris. The Luxury Designer Loft is located in Quartier Montorgueil, a surprisingly calm haven right in centre of Paris and only a short walk from the Louvre, the Marais and many other popular sites. Guests love Montorgueil for its authentic Parisian charm and architecture; its diverse restaurants, cafés and bars; its wonderful range of fresh produce, patisseries, wine merchants and chocolate houses; its warm and friendly atmosphere where visitors are welcomed and find their place like local Parisians!

The Loftfactory is also adaptable for a wide range of commercial and event rentals such as weddings, showrooms, cocktails, dinners, press events, seminars, photo-shoots and work-shops (please enquire for further details and rates).

What some of our guests say:
Tim, Los Angeles: "I was sitting here reminiscing about what a lovely time we had at your place. I have stayed at many rentals in Mexico and throughout the US, and your place was not only lovely and comfortable, but it lived up to what you advertise on the web. Most places I have stayed in do not. You are to be commended for that! Hope your holiday's are great!
Jennifer, Sydney: Our stay in Paris has been remarkable! The location of the Loft in Montorgueil, so close to Le Marais and to the Louvre gave us easy access to what felt like the whole of central Paris! The comforts of the beautifully designed property made the whole trip a complete delight. We're coming back!
Stephane, France: Thank you very much!!! We were so happy to have a wonderful place to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday with all our family and kids. It's wonderful! You did a great job! We loved the decoration and the architecture. Very much like home. Very cosy. Very warm. Very nice. Hope to see you again soon!
Jessica, US: Just to let you know that everything went very well at the Loft during Christmas. It was a fabulous place and very well equipped. The owner couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. Many thanks as well for the beautiful Xmas tree. Everything was perfect and we all had a wonderful Christmas, especially our kids who loved all the video/music features of the Loft! Thanks again!

Amazing! Plenty of room for the family to spread out and have their own space. Close to many shops, cafes, metro, etc. Julie was amazing! Met us at the location, gave us a tour and was very responsive for questions and recommendations. I wish we stayed longer!

Thank you so much Michael for your wonderful review! It was a pleasure welcoming you and your family to the Loftfactory. I’m delighted you enjoyed the space and the Montorgueil neighbourhood - it’s especially lovely at this time of year. Thank you for your kind words, time really does fly by in Paris with so much to see and do! You’d be most welcome back anytime.
We loved our stay here! The loft is such a gem in Paris! surprisingly big, full of character, and perfect for entertaining. tons of space, which is hard to find in the city.Only thing we missed were a few little extras like soap, shampoo, or bathroom essentials, which would’ve been handy. But overall, it was fantastic and we’d definitely stay again. Highly recommend!

Thank you so much, Jo, for your wonderful review! We’re delighted that you enjoyed your stay at The Loftfactory and found it full of character and a great place to gather. It’s true that the Loft has exceptional space and volumes that are rare in Paris, and our guests really love this feature! We also appreciate your feedback about the little extras — we always provide shower gel as well as hair dryers and straighteners, but can supply other products on request. Following your suggestion, we’ll now ask future guests if they’d like shampoo or other bath products prepared in advance. It was such a pleasure hosting you, and we’d be thrilled to welcome you back anytime!
Simply could not be better. The pictures are utterly accurate. The place is marvelous. Highly, highly recommend it.

Hi Michael,
It was lovely to have your family stay and I'm glad that you loved the Loft. You were perfect guests.
Sorry for this late reply, I didn't see your review at the time you left it.
We did have an exceptional heatwave during your stay this summer - the hottest and driest ever recorded apparently. It turned out that our A/C was not performing optimally. I do apologise for this. We fixed the issue and the unit is now functioning effectively. I would be delighted to offer your family an extra night on us next time you come to Paris to make up for this.
Our family of six had an extraordinary most recent trip to Paris thanks to our host Julie and the Loft!Julie is wonderful! From the moment we booked the Loft, she booked everything from our transportation to our Loft dinner with Chef Olivier.Lovely private courtyard. So peaceful and quiet.Three minute walk to awesome rue Montorgueil.A pedestrian market street with such an authentic French vibe. Lively fun from morning til night!
Perfect location in Paris. Unique design. Great for parties and gathering..Best landlord.
This is like a private home in the very heart of Paris. and 3000 sq feet !! No need for car, all is walking distance, from monuments to best restaurants etc.. The owner is very accommodating and will make you feel like n your own home. Only good things to say about this place. Just hope you can find availability = Jonathan Los Angeles

Hi Jonathan,
I realise that I missed responding to your review. It was a pleasure to have your family to stay and a real delight to meet you all.
I do hope that we'll have the pleasure of seeing you again in Paris!
Loved this modern yet historical treasure in the heart of Paris
Stay was very nice in the perfect location. Loft is on a quiet street but just down each end of the street, many cafes and shops with a lively atmosphere. Loft was spacious and beautiful with an old world feel and modern flare— if you’re into history but love the modern look. Host was incredible, helped with any questions the entire stay! Louvre/Siene River is a 10 min. walk with many shops and restaurants on the way. Eiffel Tower/ Arc de Triumph is about a 25 min. drive. Definitely would stay here again if I get the chance!

Thank you Mallory, we are delighted that you had such a great stay and that we could be of assistance to make the most of your visit. We would be delighted to welcome you and your family back another time and hope to see you all again!
It's not easy to find a place for our family of five in Paris. This space was wonderful. We each had not only our own sleeping space, but to have hang out space and a large stocked kitchen, a place to sit together for dinner, having a washer and dryer, etc. The neighborhood felt safe at any hour. The food options nearby on Rue Montorgueil were amazing.
Julie was very easy to communicate with and was very attentive. The building and its history are incredible. So fun and charming and quiet.
Would happily stay again.

Thank you Scott, the Loftfactory is indeed perfect for families or groups of friends for this reason. I personally love this neighbourhood and have adored living here with my family. It still amazes me that not more people know about Montorgueil! We would be delighted to have you and your family back to stay any time - you were perfect guests!
We had an incredible stay at the Loft a couple of weeks ago - to the point where we keep saying, was that a dream?! My husband and I traveled to Paris with two other couples from different parts of the US and we were looking for a place with enough space where we didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. The Loft was perfect. It was quiet, but in the heart of everything, and was comfortable while having more than enough room for all of us. The neighborhood was the cherry on top, with more cafes and shops than you can count, just a block away. We joked that we could have stayed in our neighborhood and never left. Julie was an incredible host from the start. Her communication was superb and she went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. We really hope to go back some day!

Dear Rebecca, Thank you for such a stellar review! I am delighted that your group had such a fabulous trip. I knew how much this meant to you as it had been a while since you had all been together now that you live in different parts of the US.
I'm glad you all loved the Loftfactory and that you also fell in love with Montorgueil, as I have done!
It would be a real delight to have you back again sometime and help you to discover other wonderful parts of Paris that you didn't have time to see this trip! Keep us posted :)
What a wonderful property! A true gem in the heart of Paris. It is literally a few steps from Rue Montorgueil and Les Halles. We stayed a week with our two teenage daughters and our parents. The space is absolutely stunning. The kitchen is well equipped and everything is in pristine condition. The access to the loft is very easy as it is on the ground floor. It is very quiet, despite the central location.
The owner was very responsive, especially when we had question on the entertainment system. There is a huge screen to watch movies.
Since all restaurants were closed, we had some dinners delivered by private chef Olivier. It was delicious.
I would highly recommend this property for a truly unique experience!

Thank you Emma, you were the perfect guests. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again some time soon!
Julie was easy to deal with. Instructions were not super clear on how to work certain things, the lights were difficult to manage but Julie helped as needed. The only item is there is cameras all over the loft and I do not recall those being disclosed. It felt a little uncomfortable - Julie said they were off but it still felt a little invasive and a lot less privacy. Hooks in the entry for hanging coats and storing shoes would be helpful.

Thanks for your feedback Mishan, it was lovely to meet your family and I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay and also the Montorgeuil area, which is right in the heart of Paris and great for families & groups of friends. I hope you enjoyed your trip in the south after Paris and that my suggestions were helpful for you to make the most of Arles and the beautiful Camargue region.
To clarify other points for readers of this review - as we also host luxury showrooms from time to time (designers presenting high value clothing and jewelry collections), we have 2 security cameras in place that can be switched on at request & connected to an alarm system if desired. (Their insurance requires this). These cameras are not activated during other rentals and are only switched on if specifically requested by professional rentals. (Our rental contract does mention this.)
Also, for readers of this review, we do have a cloakroom off the entrance to hang coats and to store shoes. We designed the Loft this way so that these stay tucked away and the entrance itself doesn't get cluttered! :) The Loft is designed to be adaptable to all your needs - we're always happy to hear your suggestions!
What an incredible place to stay!!! Julie provided us with all the information we needed to plan our time in Paris. She introduced us by email to Irene, her concierge, who also assisted us with VIP arrival and departure services and a one day tour of Paris…all very worth booking in advance!Julie met us upon arrival to show us her beautiful home, share some of its fascinating history and make sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The loft is exquisite and Julie’s attention to detail was top notch! We had a group of 6 for part of our stay and had more than enough room to spread out and relax. The location is excellent and we enjoyed just strolling down the street for coffee, pastries, cheese and fresh fruit. Julie also had a beautiful arrangement of fresh fruit, champagne and kitchen essentials waiting for us upon arrival.I honestly can’t say enough about this place! Our only regret is that we could not stay longer (we spent five nights). Thank you, Julie. It was wonderful to meet you. We will definitely be returning!

Dear Kelly,
Thank you so much for your incredibly kind and thoughtful review. Your appreciation and warmth are a wonderful reminder of why I love hosting! It was such a pleasure to welcome you and your lovely family to the Loft, and I’m thrilled to hear that you enjoyed both the space and the Montorgueil neighbourhood so much.
I’m especially happy that the little touches and support from Irene helped make your trip even more special. We’d be absolutely delighted to welcome you back again—there’s always so much more to discover in Paris. If time allows, Irene can also help plan some fabulous excursions to nearby regions that I'm sure you would enjoy. Just let us know!
Lovely stay at The Loft.
We were a group of 7 (including two small children) traveling to visit family so specifically looking for a space that would allow us to stretch out as well as room to host family.
The Loft absolutely delivered on space, we never felt like we didn’t have enough room to take time to ourselves or host additional family which is a luxury in most French apartments.
The space was clean, provided all the amenities expected and thoughtfully laid out. Julie was an exceptional host who was always available and had many recommendations. Although we did not take advantage, she offered concierge services such as transportation and private chef catered meals which was appreciated.
As a parent of a small child (10 months at the time) I will say some aspects of the home were a little difficult to navigate (staircases and varying levels of the floor such as stepping up to get into kitchen) and do not think I would stay again with children of that age however this had nothing to do with the home itself as it was wonderful.
We would absolutely stay again (especially now that the kids are older) and highly recommend Julie and her property.
This was the perfect location for my family for an 11 day stay in Paris! It more than adequately accommodated the seven of us. My mom has Parkinson’s so there was a perfect room on the first floor for her and her husband. We had two teenagers, both 16 years old, 22-year-old son and me and my husband. The large open floor plan plus four bedrooms provided plenty of space for the seven of us.
Location was amazing, about two blocks from a wonderful street with markets and cafés. We enjoy walking and the location was about a 15 minute walk to the Louvre. We also walked to the Seine, Saint-Germain-des-Prés and Latin Quarter. On a separate day, we walked to Palace Garnier. My mom was able to do the walk to the Louvre.
The property was extremely clean and had at least two cleaning services while we were there. Kitchen was very well stocked with coffee and for cooking. We even had chef Oliver come cook for us one evening, which was amazing! Julie and her family who offer the property were so kind and helpful with planning some of our experiences, we did a day trip to London and another to Mont St. Michel. I would definitely stay here again. It felt like a home in Paris. ❤️🇫🇷

Hi Lisa, thank you for this lovely review. It was such a pleasure to have your family to stay at the Loft and to be able to make the trip work for you. It is so rewarding to know that our guests have had a memorable time during their stay.
I'm glad that you were able to have Olivier prepare a special meal for you one evening so that you could enjoy dining in the Loft.
You managed to fit so many things into your trip, I was very inspired by your energy, organisation and enthusiasm!
We would love to have you back to stay - you are most welcome to come any time! Do stay in touch :)
We enjoyed our month staying in Julie's gorgeous Loftfactory and it was beyond fabulous. We had different groups of friends coming for a week at a time and every guest was blown away by the beauty of the flat and wonderful location. As an introvert, I was worried folks would be on top of each other but there was ample room for everyone to have their own space when needed and plenty of room for all 8 of us to gather together comfortably.
Julie was the most fabulous host we have ever experienced. Once she learned our guest rotation, she offered to have her cleaning crew come in to change sheets and linens which was great. Anytime I had a question including the nearest Post Office, she responded right away. My husband wanted to join a gym and she recommended the one across the street which was great for him. She was very attentive to our needs and communication was great. She arranged for Chef Olivier to cook a few fabulous meals at the flat which was wonderful. Highly recommend.
The flat location was on a quiet street with fabulous restaurants just a 5 minute walk away. We had the best of all worlds. Easy walk to the Monoprix, bakeries, cheese shops, etc. Easy walk to the sights as well as multiple metro stops.
Checking in was easy, Julie was waiting for us at the flat and went over the appliances, lights and movie screen with us. She provided great directions from Gare de Lyon and to the location.
Awesome host and flat, can't recommend highly enough!

Anne, thank you for such a heart warming review. I get so much joy from hearing feedback from my guests, knowing that they have had the best experience during their stay with us. This is what gets me out of bed in the morning :) Living just around the corner, I have come to know and love the Loft's Montorgueil neighbourhood inside out and always look forward to introducing guests to the local wonders and its hidden treasures.
I'm so glad that you and your family, as well as your different groups of friends who came over for the Rugby World Cup, had such a good time and loved the Loft. It was lovely to meet you all and I hope that we will have the pleasure of hosting you again some time in Paris!

The loft is gorgeous; located in a part of Paris we’ve not stayed at in the past but great location for restaurants and amenities; able to get food delivery and Uber readily; apartment is as pictured and listed - charming and beautiful; fantastic neighborhood
Julie could not have been more helpful, responsive and welcoming; beautiful flowers, fruit, champagne to greet; she can assist with any accommodations you may desire while staying in Paris
I would highly recommend The Loft for a visit to Paris and hope I can stay again in the future
Thank you so much for your hospitality
We absolutely loved our stay in this extraordinary, beautiful, historical apartment. If you have the opportunity to stay here, TAKE IT!! It was comfortable, clean, and within easy walking distance to many restaurants. Easy to communicate with the property owner. Thanks Julie

Hi Joan,
Thank you for your lovely review, it's greatly appreciated.
I hope we'll have the pleasure of hosting you another time in Paris, you are welcome any time. Julie
Spacious flat in central Paris halfway between Opera and Le Marais, walking distance to both. The loft itself is on a quiet one-way street just 2 blocks away from Rue Montorguiel and one block away from the infamous Rue St. Denis. Marche Montorguiel is a lovely and lively pedestrian street with patisseries and cafe galore, plus fruit/veg shops, butcher, cheese shops, wine shops, etc. if you want to experience living Parisian life, this is a great area.
The loft itself has very spacious shared spaces - plenty of living/entertaining area. However, the bedroom situation should come with some caveats. The fourth "bedroom" is in the basement (which our kids called "the dungeon") down a precarious flight of twisty stairs and wedged between the staircase and gym equipment. We ended up not using it at all and never stepped into the basement after the tour. So in reality you have 3 bedrooms - 2 upstairs and 1 on the main floor. Only one bedroom has an attached bathroom, which has the only "bathtub" - not really usable as a bathtub because the tile grout is coming apart. The second bedroom on the second floor has to share the master bathroom or the half bathroom down the hallway, while the bedroom on the main floor has use of a full bathroom with shower on the floor (but not attached). I feel like this was not clearly indicated in any of the marketing materials, but an important point for families/friends intending to share the house, especially with kids, because it will require some logistics. We found that most of the plates and utensils had food particles or even butter/grease stuck on them and had to wash everything before using, and the master bathroom has a bit of a weird smell.
Overall, I would rate the shared living space of this flat as five star, but the sleeping/bedroom situation comparable to a 3 star hotel. If you're looking for true luxury accommodations, you're better off at a 5-star hotel, but if you want tons of shared entertaining space in a great local neighborhood, this is a great choice.

Thank you for your feedback Deborah. I'm glad that your family enjoyed your stay and discovering the diversity and authenticity of the Montorgueil neighbourhood. Our family also lives in this area as it is simply fabulous and there is nowhere else like it in Paris!
I am personally always available to respond to any questions or requirements that our guests may have, you only have to ask! It is important to us that our guests' experience exceeds expectations, so we remain highly involved and available from pre-booking to departure, to assure that each stay is perfect and a memorable one. Although I reached out to you and sent you a lot of information about the property, I feel that you may not have had time to read through this? This would have clarified some of the points you mention ahead of your stay.
Due to being a converted Printing House, as explained in our e-brochure, the Loftfactory doesn't have a conventional hotel layout. We offer unique volumes and architecture, with floating passageways in an artistic decor, including many spacious common areas connected to the overall space. This works well for families and groups of friends and we get great feedback on it. As the conversion aimed to preserve the original Eiffel architecture, our bedroom and bathroom configurations have been adapted to fit within this. They are not all en suite, but guests tell us they are spacious and well designed.
We don't recommend the gym and relaxation room for unsupervised toddlers, as Roger Talon's spiral staircase (which is pictured in the Loftfactory's VRBO photo page) is really not adapted for infants. I can vouch for its safety and solid structure, as the designer engineered the Channel Tunnel! This room is a firm favorite with older children of all ages as it functions as a private studio or den, where they can watch TV or listen to music in an area with its own privacy.
I am a little surprised at some of your other feedback however, and would like to respond.
We have never had any previous commentary about the property not being in perfect condition for our guests. We impose a rigorous cleaning procedure between rentals, involving a team of up to 4 professionals, and put all of our cutlery and porcelain systematically through the dishwasher. This is checked by our housekeeper. If you had let us know you perceived an issue, we would have addressed any concerns for you. I apologise if you perceived anything to be less than perfect.
Regarding the bathtub in the master bathroom, I can assure you that this is fully functional and that there is no missing grout. As the grout becomes darker when it is wet, you may have misinterpreted this.
When you requested daily cleaning on arrival, we managed to arrange it for you, but you finally decided not to use this service. I feel that with 3 young children, this would have given you a more restful stay.
Julie made everything as convenient and as easy as possibly. She took care of every single thing we needed instantly.
The apartment is large and airy with large bathrooms and a great kitchen and dining area.
Best of all, the location and neighborhood. The Loft is on a very quiet street 2 blocks from a walking street that has every shop you could ever want on it. And literally next door was the best coffee we found in Paris.
Because if the location we could walk everywhere or use the subway which we did.
We spent a month at the Loft and loved it. Perfect for kids who need space.

I traveled to Paris with a group of friends, including one infant and stayed at the Loftfactory. We had an amazing stay and Julie was very responsive in making sure we had everything we needed. The beds were quite comfortable and we had plenty of space. Would highly recommend this loft for a big group!

It is precisely as described and pictured. The location is ideal, with rue Montorgueil, and it’s markets being less than two blocks away. The attention to style is impressive. Julie was a wonderful host. Would stay again.

I am Scottish, born in Edinburgh and have lived in Paris for over 26 years!
I have family far afield in Argentina, Canada and New Zealand & my husband is French Canadian, born in Montreal. I enjoy meeting people from different countries and cultures and sharing with them my love for Paris and its many treasures!
My background in design and luxury marketing gave me a keen eye for detail and helped me to think of the personal touches that could make a real difference to someone’s stay in Paris. I have have tried to think of all the indispensable amenities to make it not only a stylish, but a comfortable home for my guests.
I think that a trip to a destination should be exceptional and hold lasting memories - I try to contribute to this in every way I can.
Why they chose this property
I have lived in Montorgueil - my favorite neighborhood by far in Paris - for the past 13 years.
I love the fact that Montorgueil is a self-contained pedestrian village right in the heart of Paris. It still retains its original signature cobbled marble streets and hosts some of Paris's oldest architecture. It is so full of character and charm, blending modernity with Parisian tradition and history.
The ambiance is lively and there is a great diversity of dining available in Montorgueil - including some Michelin star restaurants. The restaurant on the corner of our street, The Rocher de Cancale, is listed as Paris's first ever restaurant and is preserved today just as when it was first built.
When I first moved to Paris I stumbled across and fell in love with a rare 19th Century Printing House built by Gustave Eiffel which was hidden away in a private courtyard, in need of much love. Although it was a huge undertaking to transform this 300m2 (3300 square feet) into a modern home, giving life to this space once again was one of the most soul warming projects I have ever undertaken.
I love the combination of old and new, and wanted to underline the history infused in this building and bring this to life through the renovation.
During the works, we discovered a hidden room - a basement enclosed by a 1st Century Roman wall, which we later discovered to be the original perimeter wall of Lutece (the Roman settlement later to become Paris)! The Town Hall conducted an archeological dig and found many historical artefacts dating back to this time. A journalist later told us that her grandfather had worked in this building when it was a printing house during the war and that this space had been used by the Resistance at that time to print their newspapers in secret!
This space was transformed into our gym and relaxation room, with the Roman wall preserved and visible.
Paris is filled with historical monuments and stories, waiting to be discovered.
What makes this property unique
The historical and architectural features that are the soul of the Luxury Designer Loft, were a spring board for designing its unique volumes. Inspired by the Cafe Beaubourg beside the Pompidou centre, the Loft incorporates floating passageways so you can experience the space from every perspective.
I deliberately chose a minimalistic, modern architectural style to bring out all the original features of this historical building. The eye is drawn to follow the dramatic wrought iron beams showcasing Gustav Eiffel's identifiable signature that we recognise from the Eiffel tower.
To preserve the dramatic volumes, I created a Loft style space with open living areas benefiting from the dramatic high 8 metre (26 foot) ceilings. A double-height cathedral window dominates the main room flooding it with light. Wherever you are in the Loft, you stay wonderfully connected to these volumes.
I worked with artists to incorporate original art into some of the walls, adding contemporary design features and bringing warmth and touches of colour to the Printing House. The main living room mural tells the story of the original printing house and includes a tribute to the Resistance, the original residents.
Most of all I love the complete calm of the Loft. The property is a rare haven of tranquility. It is hard to imagine that just two minutes walk away is the heart of the bustling Montorgueil village.
I live right around the corner from the Loft so I welcome all my guests personally and can give detailed guidance and recommendations about this wonderful and welcoming neighborhood. My guests always tell me that they feel like they have experience Paris as a Parisian after getting to know Montorgueil.
