Seven days of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

The villa was just as we remembered-comfortable with a stunning ocean view. We love the addition of the beach bench and made use of it both day and night. It makes for fabulous star gazing. The cinnamon rolls and brownies from the bakery are beyond compare. We hated to leave and are saving our pennies for a return visit soon.

The stunning waters of Sea of Abaco at Treasure Cay

  • 5 of 5

After a delay in airline flights and luggage, we were thrilled to arrive at this ocean villa, and how quickly it changed our moods. The villa was absolutely perfect for the two of us, with spacious and beach inspired bedrooms, living room with sliders that looked out to the ocean, and a kitchen that had even more than I have in my kitchen. The patio was well furnished, and we used it early morning and late afternoons. The grounds of the complex were immaculate, the pool area lovely, and the beach just breathtaking. Every day, the colors of the water changed and the hues of turquoise were amazing. The beach was fabulous for walking, and was never crowded. The sand very soft and never hot.

We had a truly relaxing vacation and Treasure Cay is surely the place to go for unwinding. Cheryl was a pleasure to work with and we cannot thank her enough for sharing her home away from home with us.

October Paradise

This Ocean Villa is well located for walking anywhere you need to go, but renting a golfcart makes it easier to explore parts of Treasure Cay you might not see otherwise. Walking distance to Coco Bar, Tipsy Seagull, Marina, Golden Harvest, Bristol Liquors, etc. The kitchen is very well equipped and organized. The icemaker is a beast, once it gets going, it can really crank out the ice! Also the reverse osmosis water spigot saves on the purchase of jugs of water and bags of ice, and the villa has numerous ice trays for filling and freezing. We were there before restaurants re-opened from Storm Season, so we grilled out every night, enjoying cocktails on the patio and watching the sunset. We had the entire complex to ourselves! Well lighted at night, we felt very safe. There are 2 comfortable and spacious bedrooms, each with its own bath. Although the villa can sleep 6 with the pull out sofa in the living room, it is better suited for 2 couples or a family of 4. The living area/dining/kitchen would be a bit cramped With more than four. The sliding glass doors would not open for us, otherwise that would definitely have extended the living area. There was such a nice breeze, it was a shame not to take advantage of it. But the a/c works extremely well. This condo has it's own wifi and local telephone, which was an added bonus. The owner was always just an email away from my iPad. Laundry is available for $8.50 per basket steps away in the clubhouse. We left the basket by the door in the am and by the time we returned from fishing, it was clean and folded nicely for us. The pool is lovely and well maintained. The housekeeper was very attentive and friendly, calling periodically to check on things, helping with the location of whatever we couldn't find and information in general.

We have been coming to Treasure Cay for many years for bonefishing, but you absolutely can't find a prettier sandy beach with crystal clear turquoise water. This villa has quick and easy access to that beach, with common outside hoses and shower for rinsing off. This was important to us for cleaning fly rods, boots, etc. every evening.

This was perhaps the nicest visit we have had in years and plan to return to this villa. Nearly perfect.

Already Planning Our Next Visit!

  • 4 of 5

We've been visiting Treasure Cay for years, but this was our first time staying at the Ocean Villas. It's a small and welcoming community of owners and renters and they made us feel at home immediately.

The villa was exactly what we were looking for: simple and charming and just a few steps from the beach- we enjoyed a nice view of the turquoise waters from the living room, the kitchen and the patio. We found it to be a private and quiet spot, though no one was staying in the villas on either side of us, so that might have added to the secluded feel.

It was such a good feeling to arrive to a perfect little home versus staying in some generic hotel room- and there were fresh flowers in a conch shell waiting to welcome us. The villa was well stocked with everything we could have possibly needed- full kitchen along with dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, blender, (you get the drift), plenty of dish towels, beach towels, coolers, candles, books, playing cards... We only needed to do a quick grocery shop to make the place our own. The tv, DVD player and stereo were a sweet touch, but the weather was so lovely, we we never inside long enough to use them.

It is located close enough to town so that nearly everything is just a five minute walk- bar, restaurant, grocery, bakery. Rental bikes make shopping quick and easy.

The wifi for both the villa and the Ocean Villas complex was a bit undependable. Since I heard complaints from people staying in different parts of the town, the issue seemed to have more to do with the Bahamian Internet provider than a fault of the villas. We've spent time in the islands before, so it was just par for the course and we didn't need to be connected the the Internet 24/7 anyway.

This villa is fantastic. Treasure Cay is as lovely as ever. The Coco Bar and the Spinnaker restaurants are still serving over-priced and under-quality food. I'd skip those. Pizza night at the Tipsy is still one of our favorite spots. Florence's Bakery still makes the most amazing sticky buns on the planet. Chris the Burner's place at the entrance to Treasure Cay is a nice addition for food and entertainment. We visited the newer Treasure Sand for both lunch and dinner- spectacular food, wine, ambiance, service and views.

Looking forward to getting back soon!
