About this property

Large 18th century Basque house restored 16 to 20 people

Our house is located in the Basque Country 2km from St Jean Pied de Port. It dates from the 18th century. Its decoration is neat (restoration in 2009). The environment is calm and there is a beautiful view of the Pyrenees (Iparla peaks). With an area of 400 m2 with 8 bedrooms it can accommodate between 16 and 18 people. The living room and the dining room are very spacious and will allow you to spend good convivial moments. An open carbet of 70 m2 with plancha and many tables allows to take full advantage of the garden (4000 m2).
It is available all year round. Possibility of renting for weekends and bridges.
Ideal for family or friendly holidays, the Basque country is full of sports and cultural activities for all tastes (walking, pelota, Basque songs, rafting, proximity to Spain and the Basque coast). Shops within 2km.

Séjour anniversaire 1 an et baptême en famille

Nous avons séjourné 2 nuits dans cette magnifique maison. Celle ci est pour beaucoup de chambre réhabilitée en plus moderne avec beaucoup des salles de bain (photos pas forcément à jour car encore mieux en vrai). Très fonctionnel et grande pour les groupes avec tous les équipements possibles. La vue, le carbet est magnifique. La maison a un cachet extraordinaire, on a adoré le concept. Pièces immenses y compris les chambres. Rien a redire. Merci de nous avoir permis de fêter le premier anniversaire et le baptême de notre petit bout comme il se doit avec notre famille et nos amis.

Grande maison traditionnelle du pays Basque intérieur

La maison qui a près de 300 ans est située au bord d’une rivière et est entourée de champs à mi chemin entre St Jean pied de port et St Jean le vieux. Calme parfait : idéal pour y séjourner 3 semaines et profiter des innombrables balades aux alentours. Elle est vaste et les 8 chambres permettent d’accueillir de grandes familles avec tout le confort et l’espace nécessaire. Le point fort de la propriété est l’espace extérieur couvert avec plancha/évier/frigo qui permet d’y prendre tous les repas tout en profitant de la vue sur les crêtes d’Iparla : magnifique à toute heure. Toute équipée depuis sa rénovation de 2009, la maison mériterait des petits travaux complémentaires et quelques investissements (la peinture des volets est passée, les joints autour des éviers/lavabos sont dégradés, La vaisselle, abondante, est franchement dépareillée, la plancha a mal vieilli et il n’y a plus que 2 chaises longues fonctionnelles...). Autre petit bémol : le ménage très approximatif notamment dans la cuisine. Très bon contact avec la propriétaire. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir. Un peu agacé par Homelidays qui perçoit la caution 1 mois avant et qui ne la rembourse que 2-3 semaines après...

Belle maison basque au bord de la riviére, avec belle vue sur les contreforts des Pyrénées

Maison familiale au belle proportion pour laisser assez de place à tous les membres de la famille : dortoir pour les enfants, chambre rez de chaussée pour les mobilités réduites...Grand jardin avec auvent et grandes tables pour les grandes tablées. Entre marche à la montagne baignade en mer, marché à Saint jean pied de port, accrobranche, partie de pala au trinquet et balade urbaine dans les beaux villages alentours, l emplacement est central. De belles vacances... masquées!

Muy difícil contactar con la dueña. Tuve que pagar por transferencia y ha sido todo complicadísimo porque la dueña no respondía, no me daba un número de cuenta, le dije que no funcionaba el microondas y tampoco me respondió y para terminar le ha costado un mes devolverme la fianza tras insistirle en repetidas ocasiones... Mejor paguen con tarjeta.

Juste génial. La maison est magnifique, décorée avec goût et très propre. L'environnement est génial, au calme absolu, avec même une rivière privée, et que dire de la dépendance couverte, idéal pour les grandes tablées ou les apéritifs prolongés entre amis. Nous avons été très bien accueillis et conseillés, dans ce lieu qui a sa petite histoire pour ne rien gâcher... Je recommande chaudement, et me ferai plaisir d'y retourner à la première occasion venue.

Charming Basque home

Christian and Briand made it feel like we were staying with family. Christian answered our emails promptly. Other home owners on VRBO were very slow, or not at all, in responding to our reservation questions. The house easily fit our party of 15 people with plenty of room in the 8 bedrooms. There were enough plates, flatware, glasses, pots/pans, and a large table to have our meals altogether. The stream and stone bridge added to the tranquil scenery of the home.
