Near the Fort of San Mattia- Arena- lies about 5 km to the villa.
The Villa was a convent in the 14th century. The the old historic elements sono stati maintained and combined with a modern refurnishing to create a tipical Italian Style Villa. The villa is located in a quiet garden with a large pool. Please also visit our website www. villalegrotte.it

 If you are looking for a family or a large group, this villa is ideally suited as a lot of space distributed over three floors.
You enter the Villa from the ground floor.
In the ground floor, you will find the special bedroom and the ground bedroom.
On the first floor there is a large living room and a bedroom with two single beds and two sofa beds.
On the first floor you find a living room, a well equipped kitchen and a dining area. To complete this floor, a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower.

On the second floor, there is:
 - A spacious lounge, with a magnficent view on the garden and the pool.
- The doublebeds Granparent's Room with bathroom with shower,
 - A bedroom with two beds.
- Doublebedroom with a view on the pool with ensuit bathroom with shower
 - A single bedroom with bathroom with access from the doubleroom.

An amazing garden surrounds the Villa, furnished with tables and sunchairs.

From the pool with massage jets, you can enjoy a wonderful view of Verona. Pool is shared with the neighbours.
The hills, covered with green meadows, thick hardwood forests and grape-vines, are perfect for walking, cycling and hiking. Hiking trails starts near the villa.

Perfect multi family location

Perfect location for multi generation family holiday. Beautiful setting and walkable (c 25min) into Verona. Short taxi to rail station to access trains to Venice, Milan, Lake Garda and many more places.

Very special property

A truly magical place, Villa Grotte was the perfect villa for our time with friends. Giorgio was very helpful, the house had air-conditioning in every room and location is simply incredible. Especially good for beating the heat in Verona, I can't wait to come back!

Beautiful home with a spectacular view

We had 10 people - 4 adults and 6 kids. We had enough bedrooms, baths, dining space, gathering space and outdoor space for the kids to play. The pool is beautiful with stairs for the little ones to sit on and play in the water. The view of Verona was beautiful. The hosts were gracious and made us feel welcome. Would highly recommend this charming home.

2nd visit and still wonderful!

We stayed at Villa Le Grotte in 2015 and it was so great we planned our 2019 return trip to Italy around staying here again. Villa Le Grotte lived up to everything we remembered. The owners are amazing and so welcoming, they make you feel like you are at home (away from home)! With trips to the Arena, Juliet's balcony, the Roman Theatre, Lake Garda and Venice, our days were packed, but it was always comforting to return "home" for a late night swim and some dessert. We have raved about this Villa for 4 years and hope to make a return trip again soon!

Christmas in Villa Grotte

Lovely villa sitting above Verona was the perfect size for our family of 10. Welcomed by our host and “introduced “ to the incredible home of his family. Located over three floors were the bedrooms. At our request Georgio put up a beautiful Christmas tree which we all enjoyed! The site is a bit out of the way so maybe you might want some transportation. That was our main issue.

We really enjoyed our stay in the house. Plenty of room for 13 people. It had Italian charm and lots of living space to enjoy each other’s company. It is an old house and we had issues with the sewer. The upstairs bathrooms smelled so bad that one bedroom we could not even use. The owners were made aware so hopefully they can fix the issue.

During your stay we tried to do our best using special products in order to avoid the problem but this was not successful. Unfortunately the days before your arrival we had big rains in Verona. We think that there has been a problem with public sewers which couldn’t work as usual and take effluents from our private pipe. We are still investigating the issue in order to find a definitive solution to the problem. We really apologize for the inconvenience. Our commitment is to satisfy our guests. A relaxing week with friend

We were a group of 14 friend (30+) staying at Villa le Grotte for a week, and we were all happy and satisfied with our stay. The house is spacious and was no problem for a large group, the kitchen is large and well equipped, the "grotto" is perfect for a relaxing lunch during the day reducing the summer heat, or for the dinners during the evening, and the pool and view is great. There are some restaurants within short walking distance, and quite easy to walk to town (ca. 30 min) but also not to far to the closest bus stop, and taking the bus to/from town was very easy. Giorgio was great, and the few smaller issues that arouse during our stay were fixed quickly for us. Overall, we were all happy with our stay and would warmley recommend Villa Le Grotte!

Gorgeous hilltop Verona Villa

A group of five friends stayed two nights at the villa after a week of working the Venice Film Festival and it was just what we needed. It offered the perfect place to relax, plenty of space to spread out yet easy to get to town. Comms with the owner and property manager was very easy and they helped organize a lovely wine tasting at the property. Highly recommend doing this as the gentleman who handled it for our group was amazing! The one piece of advice to the owners or visitors is either provide some bathroom amenities (hand soap, mini shampoo) or be sure to bring your own. In each bathroom there wasn’t even hand soap. Luckily I brought a bar from the previous hotel that we all shared. Otherwise the rooms were comfortable and the views breathtaking. Would definitely go back.

10 personer fik en yderst dejlig oplevelse ved at bo på dette sted, som absolut levede op til annoncens ordlyd. Ikke mindst “grotten” var populær, da temperaturen hele ugen var over 35 grader. Værten var yderst hjælpsom med praktiske oplysninger - både før og under opholdet. Kan kraftigt anbefales!

Beautiful villa with atmosphere

We had a good stay at the well equipped villa! The grotte was a huge advantage as there is shadow all the time, and cooler than outside. Good to use for meals and for cooling during warm summerdays. The grotte had a refrigerator to cool drinks. The owner has been helpful before and during our stay. He always replies our questions, and had good recommendations on both private winetasting, privat drivers and dinner prepared at the villa. The owner lives in the house next door, but we didnt experienced any problems with that. The shared pool was available almost all the time, so we could use it a lot. We could wish that there were grocery shops a bit nearer, but if you have a car it is no problem. We used taxi to go shopping. Restaurants nearby!

Perfect place for a Weekend with friends

The house as well as the surrounding is very spacious. The highlight for us was the very big garden, the pool area as well as the "Grotto". Of course, the house is very old but at the same time it is very clean. We have been there with a group of 13 friends and had a very good time.

Sehr schöne Lage - Atemberaubende Aussicht

Dieses Haus ist wirklich sehr schön gelegen, mit der Aussicht auf Verona. Das Grundstück ist sehr weitläufig und jeder kann sich woanders verkrümeln. Die Besitzer wohnen nebenan und laufen ab und an übers Grundstück, sie waren sehr nett. Lieben Dank

Lovely Villa in Verona

We enjoyed this villa immensely and felt both the charm and the history of the place. The owners were very accommodating - helping us find and set up reservations at two very distinct Italian restaurants, acquiring and decorating a Christmas tree for us, (which was amazing), and answering questions when we had them. Very professional and very friendly environment. Lovely views as well!

Perfect location and a glorious setting

Beautiful villa with stunning views over Verona which is only a 25 min walk down the hill. Spacious inside and outside with plenty of room to spread out. Check the floor plan as some rooms interconnect. Our hosts couldn’t have been more welcoming. They stocked our fridge and gave us a lift to the restaurant when we were late arriving on our first night. They helped with directions and were on hand if we needed them as they live in an adjacent property. The pool area is a delight. We visited nearby winery at San Mattia which is a short walk and good value. There is an honesty bar at the villa which was helpful for wine and beer. We loved our stay and would love to return.

We had the chance to stay 1 week in villa Le Grotte for our "international" family meeting. The villa is convenient for a huge family, the garden and the view are amazing. Anne is very friendly and helped us a lot so that we had a wonderful stay. We hope to come back soon !

A perfect week in a perfect villa

We were 5 guys staying at this wonderful villa above Verona at the end of May 2017. The booking procedure was easy and very friendly. We've texted Anne about 1 hour prior arrival and she gave us a very warm welcome. Anne is the perfect host! She explained everything in details and very clearly so we had no outstanding questions. The villa is really wonderful! Furnished in the real style and well equipped with everything you could need. The bedrooms are excellent and everything was as clean as one can wish. We also loved the air-condition, which we switched on during night. The kitchen is very practical and it even has a Nespresso machine what we loved and used a lot. We also enjoyed the swimming pool with the right size and the beautiful view over the city of Verona. The best was the cave! In there it was always nice and cool even it was a hot day. As we are cyclists, we discovered the nearer and further area and must say it is perfect for mountain and racing bikes. Also excellent was that three very good restaurants were in walking distance so no car needed in the evening. The nearest shop is about 2 kilometers away in Verona what was easy and you could get there everything you need. We would love to come back one day! Anne, thanks for all!

Amazing views, suits couples with kids but....

We had 4 couples with 5 kids which worked out very well with the room layout of interconnecting rooms and bathrooms. The views are amazing and the Garden is great for kids to run around. We were very disappointed with the owners - they told us on the Wednesday of our stay that there would be a party at their house (100ft away, shared garden) on the Friday at 2:30 of about 15 x 13yr old girls. However it started at 1:30, went on until late (11pm), was at least 20 teenagers for that whole time and then more adults joined in the evening. There was a DJ with loud music and the kids were taking over the entire garden and pool. The owners were inconsiderate and rude when we asked them to try to keep the noise on the other side of their villa and to keep the teenagers slightly away from our rented villa whilst we were trying to put our young children to sleep.

Magnificent is the only right word for this villa

We stayed with a total of 8 people in the villa during the summer of 2015 and had a wonderful time in the spacy and very comfortable villa, garden and swimming pool. Everything was taken care of with great feeling for details. The owners were very friendly and helpful. This is without any doubt one of the most beautiful places to stay during a family vacation in the Verona area. There is more than enough sight seeing to do in the area and daytrips to Venetia and the Garda Lake are easy to undertake. We would love to stay here again in the future and have recommend the villa to our friends.
