Beyond expectations! A wonderful cottage.
We had a brilliant holiday at this cottage. Kids were in heaven on the bunk beds and we told stories and stargazed in the lovely sunroom.
The area was fantastic for hiking. We loved the beach, the rope bridge and the causeway but could not wait to return to this cottage every night. What a find. Everything we needed was on site.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the cottage. We love walking, taking photographs, and watching the sea, and the location of the cottage gave us lots of scope for all three. We were able to walk from the cottage to the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge and the Giant's Causeway, and walk within the Glens of Antrim. Each day it was wonderful to come back to the cottage, and wander/scramble along the sea shore. The summer house is fantastic, and in August was perfectly heated by the sun during the day to be just right in the evening. The cottage was everything we hoped it would be. Thank you so much to Lisa and Turlough for making our holiday possible.
Location, location, location!
We loved our holiday at this fisherman's cottage on the Antrim coast. It was a great base to explore the Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede, walk the coastal path, and the small towns and villages along the coast. The view from the garden cannot be described. You have to see it to believe it. We could have sat there for hours in the evening just watching the changing light on the sea, the tide coming in, the birds and the green hills rolling down to the sea. We almost wanted a storm so that we could watch the waves crash on the rocks from the garden room - but all we got was sunny weather! Great walk outside the door to White Park Bay. A beautiful beach to explore with mysterious rock formations on the way. Must also mention the butchers in Ballycastle - fab beef sausages. All the people we met were very friendly. Thanks for letting us stay.
Incredible location, stunning views, lovely garden
What a gem! My three children loved exploring the beach and back garden and sun house. Can’t beat the location for everything you might want to see on the Causeway Coast. We had lovely walks to the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge and the spectacular White Park Bay. Sunsets were amazing. I would recommend this charming cottage to anyone.
Amazing stay! Thank you for everything and already many of our friends and family want to stay here!
The setting is beautiful and sunroom has phenomenal view of the coastline and ocean. My wife and I were in constant awe with the setting. The cottage was very nice and modest with all of the essentials. Highly recommended and my wife and I both agreed this was the best place we have ever stayed at, and we have traveled to different countries quite a bit.
The Owners have Thought of Everything
We spent a week between Belfast, the Causeway Coastal Route, and Derry/Londonderry. This cottage in Ballintoy harbour was our favourite spot.
From the warmth of the greenhouse in the back you can see points North and West. We checked in after 3 days of 30+ MPH winds. From inside the greenhouse at sunset on the last windy day, we were able to watch 8-10 foot waves crashing against all of the rock formations in the harbour. By the third day of our stay the wind had mostly blown through and shore was calm.
The cottage is nicely decorated and packed with kid's toys, movies, firewood, books, and just about anything you would need for days when the weather is un-cooperative. Our kids loved seeing the sheep grazing just on the other side of the fence.
