Southern Star Ranch - Luxury Paradise in the Country

Southern Star Ranch is a beautiful ranch home surrounded by 15 acres high on top of a hill. The house is made of limestone rock that was brought in from Austin during construction. The home has 3 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths and an executive office. The backyard is a country oasis that includes a large pool with rocks and waterfall and an outdoor covered entertainment and cooking pavilion. Covered porches with scenic views wrap around all sides of the house. The property also has a large fire pit near the pool and house. Kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, silverware, pots and pans. The property is fenced and has an automatic entrance gate. Gas and charcoal grills available for guests to use. Direct TV, outdoor TV, large TV's inside. Washer and dryer. This home is the perfect getaway from the city. Come enjoy peace of mind and country life at its finest.

Beautiful and tranquil

The home is on a beautiful piece of land. It sits back off of the road like an estate. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed early mornings drinking coffee on the pool deck. We even seen a deer! Would definitely recommend. The host was so kind and accommodating. 5 out of 5 stars

Absolutely Wonderful!

We had a great stay. The property is absolutely beautiful, and just secluded enough to be extraordinarily peaceful. The host was an absolute pleasure, very easy to communicate with. Her mother met us to show us around, and she was a total sweetheart. The home was immaculate! The home, the property and even every single dish and utensil. We’ve stayed at a lot of B-n-B properties, this was the cleanest by far. We would absolutely stay here again! We can’t wait until our travels bring us back to the Houston area!

Leadership Retreat

We love this place! This home is absolutely beautiful. We were met by the Owner's mom who was the absolute sweetest. She gave us a tour of the property and how everything works. We held a Leadership Retreat for our Leadership Team for the Black Heritage Committee of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.The amenities and space were perfect. We will definitely be back with our family. The home was clean and if you forgot anything, trust me they have it! Thank you for an amazing weekend!

Grandma trip

This is our third visit to this amazing property. Have traveled here with friends in past but this time brought 11 year old grand daughter. We had a great time. Wonderful views great pool and lots of fun. Great host and hostess . This is a great place to stay and we travel allot.

What an amazing property. My brother and I flew in for a family function. We were greeted by Madeline, who was great and gave us a quick tour of the property and made us feel welcome. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything you may need for your stay. We found ourselves spending most of the time we were at the property in the outdoor space, the pool and outdoor kitchen are amazing.

Great, easy stay less than an hour from Houston.

Booked the property last minute for a short spring break trip. Owner's mother met us on site for a quick tour, learned a few tips. House was comfortable, spacious and clean. We enjoyed the pool (wish the heater worked, would be willing to pay a fuel charge for that, but we made do with floats and wetsuits), grounds, and games. The stock tank has lots of perch and some largemouth bass and mussels; never got a catfish. The firepit is stocked with wood, and when the kids ran through most of it, the owners supplied more for the last night. The outdoor kitchen is well appointed and easy to use. The owners supplied nearly everything - lighter fluid, foil, paper towels (first ever VRBO that we didn't have to get more), coffee accoutrements, board games, pool towels, etc. Almost no downsides. I would not recommend if you're planning to work while on vacation (yes, oxymoron) - the internet can't support video calls, and cell service (AT&T) was very weak. But if you plan to really be on vacation, this is the spot. Will definitely come again.

We were in town for a baseball tournament and this house was almost exactly right in the middle of the two locations we had to play at. House was a great place to unwind between games.

Wonderful retreat!

We have had our annual girls weekend here several times now and always find it relaxing. The pool is wonderful and the house is great as well !

Fabulous

This is our second stay at Southern Star. We had an amazing time again. The home is spotless. The pool and outdoor kitchen area is spectacular. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to have a fun and relaxing time away from home. It is a five-star property.

Wonderful stay

Our stay was sweet, clean, comfortable, and relaxing! I packed everything I thought I’d need, and whatever I didn’t pack was available to us there. The beds were comfy and the night was breezy and calm. We definitely plan on returning next summer!!!

Annual Friends Vaca!

Every year a group of us get together before school starts and our schedules get so hectic we can't all get together. Our typical trips would be to the Hill Country, Lake or River somewhere in Texas. However, this year we wanted to try something different and it was AWESOME. We drove anywhere from 30 mins - 1 hour to arrive at this property instead of hours like we would for other destinations. Ben and Davon are great hosts and have a beautiful property. The entire house was very well kept, clean and had everything we could want. We spent the majority of our time outside in the pool or cooking at the fantastic outdoor kitchen. The house was equipped with everything we needed to be comfortable and have a great time. We really enjoyed the vintage Arcade game and cornhole board that brought the kid out of us. We all agreed that this house and location was a Winner for us.

Getaway week

This property is a getaway that feels far from the busyness of life-and that is just what my friends and I needed. We spent many hours floating in the pool under the afternoon shade of the pecan tree. I wish I had brought binoculars to peep at the birds flitting through the branches. We had cozy meals and played board games at the long dining table. The kitchen had all the essentials, the beds were comfortable, and the living area had cushy couches for lounging or napping. I am about to book my stay for next summer!

Relaxing get away

This property was awesome for getting some relaxation away from daily stress of work and commuting. The pool was beautiful! I loved the waterfall. It gave the backyard a tranquil feeling. The house was beautiful and stayed cool during the 100+ temps. The kitchen was fully functional and had everything we needed for a 5 day stay. Owners were quick to respond to the questions I had. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Outstanding!!!!

We arrived on Friday. We were met and given all the information we needed for a wonderful weekend. The house was spotless. The outdoor area, pool, pond, and kitchen were fabulous. Unless we were sleeping; or putting together a meal; we were outside the whole time. The house had everything you could possibly need. We have already planned our next trip back. Southern Star Ranch is truly a 5 star experience.

BBQ Pitmasters Outdoor Kitchen Paradise

This well-maintained property is truly a sight to behold. The outdoor kitchen was perfect for those anyone looking to grill or smoke some delicious meals. The side by side Oklahoma Joes smoker/gas grill/side burner combo was well maintained and worked perfectly. Everything down to the last detail was taken care of by the gracious owners, with top-end furniture and pristinely clean surroundings ensuring a pleasant stay. The fire pit was amazing well stocked and ready to use. There was even a little produce stand about a mile East on 290 with cheap firewood for sale after we used what was on site. The pool, even though the heater was broken at the time, was warm and extremely clean. We were excited about every day we spent here and it was difficult leaving at checkout time. We look forward to coming back soon!

Mothers Day Weekend Surprise!

Surprise Mother’s Day getaway & birthday celebration for my five sisters! Fantastic! Fabulous! Fun! Fulfilling! Faithful & Blessed! What you see is what you get. This property was everything we hoped for & more! Beautiful property & home. We were greeted & given a brief tour. The positive reviews of this place are true. Many household items provided…comfortable beds… bring basic cookware (skillet, pot) otherwise kitchen has what you need. There is a gate to secure the property…be careful not to lock yourself in. We called the owners to let us out & they arrived within just a few minutes. Highly recommended! Peaceful & pleasant…relax in the rocking chairs on the wrap around porch & by the water fall pool. We plan to stay again.

Roundtop trip!

What a wonderful vacation we had at this home. The area is quiet and beautiful, the house was big enough for 4 adults and 3 teenagers. The property is close enough to Roundtop that you can shop all day then come relax at the house. If we ever come back to the area, we would for sure stay at this property again.
