The Dancing Bear Lodge is our largest Washington vacation rental. The open beam vacation home is a spacious, custom built 2,400 square foot home. It is located on a quiet road, about 4 miles from the Park entrance, and is comprised of 2 buildings: the main house and the bonus area. The main house is included with every reservation and features four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms have king-size beds (which can be split into twins), the fourth has a twin loft bunkbed set. The large upstairs family room has a foosball table, TV, DVD player, and Xbox360 as well as three queen-size futons (with memory foam mattresses). We can prepare these as beds upon request. Also on the first level in the main house is a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, and living room with TV/DVD player and woodstove (firewood provided).
The second building is what we call the Bonus Room. It’s separated from the main house by a breezeway and adds another 1100 sq feet of space. This is where the pool table is located and there is a great room with a TV/DVD entertainment center and a kitchenette, as well as 2 more bedrooms (both with king-size beds that can be split) and a 3/4 bathroom with rain shower. The bonus area is included in the nightly rate for groups of 12 or more and is just $100 for smaller groups who want to spread out.
With the bonus area included, this home can comfortably accommodate up to 18 people in beds and a maximum of 22 people (we provide 2 queen-size blow-up mattresses and the necessary bedding for those additional guests).
The Dancing Bear Lodge sits on 2 acres and is bordered by national forest. Outside there is an 8' hot tub and a large outdoor fire pit for roasting marshmallows at night. There's also a wooden play structure for kids to enjoy and a grassy lawn for yard games.
The Dancing Bear Lodge is perfect for company retreats, family reunions, or just relaxing with friends. Discover the bliss of our Mount Rainier Cabins, your new favorite mountain retreats!

Great house in Ashford!!
This is an excellent house for large groups. It only missed an excellent rating because the living room was rather small and it had a "somewhat inaccessible" bedroom upstairs. The dining area and table were great, but the living room was too small for a large group to congregate. The upstairs bedroom is only accessible through the upstairs bathroom. If someone is in the bathroom you are stuck in the bedroom until they are finished.
All in all, this is a great house and we would rent it again in a heartbeat.
p.s., no pets, even well behaved pets.
Rented 10 VRBOs and have been happy with every rental. That being said this was the most amazing place of them all. The Lodge was supplied beyond belief and everything was in great condition. 17 of us had a fabulous time and not once did we find ourselves saying we didn't have enough space. Everything is as advertised and more! If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. Thanks to the owner it couldn't have been better!
Awesome cabin for a large group
We stayed here November 2013 with 4 families with kids from 4 yrs to 12 yrs old and loved it. Plenty of room for everyone, super clean, and the kitchen was as good as home. The best part was the dining room table sat 18, so we could all eat together. The kids loved the hot tub! Mt Rainier park entrance was 5 minutes away, so there was tons of options for adventure and sightseeing. We would highly recommend, and plan on staying again.
Amazing time at an amazing property.
Dancing Bears is huge and hugely fabulous. Plenty of space perfectly laid out, LOVE the gigantic separate dining room, and really appreciated all the helpful info we received beforehand. It's quaint without being kitchy, just spacious enough, equipped perfectly, and the setting can't be beat. Even being there in early January with no snow, we were totally entertained - walks in the woods, silliness in the hottub, joyous and easy meal prep with all the high-quality kitchen gear provided. An amazing property for large groups. Hole up, play games, deal with the lack of cell phone reception, and enjoy friends and family in the perfect spot!
Great weekend with friends and family!
Our large group (21 adults & kids) had a great time at Dancing Bear Lodge! The kids loved the foosball table, play structure and exploring the large private lot, and the grownups loved the hot tub, pool table, and awesome kitchen!
We had plenty of room to play and relax - the separation of space was well thought out, and the furnishings were all very clean and comfortable. There were so many small details that made the lodge feel like a home away from home, like toys and games to keep the kids entertained, extra supplies in the bathroom, and everything we needed to prepare meals.
I can't wait to go back!
Just got home, wish we didn't have to leave!
We enjoyed our family trip - just got back this morning. Your place was perfect for our family. We enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings and the hot tub was so relaxing.
We mostly enjoyed each other and the peace and quiet. Wish we could have stayed longer and seen more of the national park. We went to Paradise and did a hike over to the glaciers, which the kids couldn't believe. Thanks so much - would highly reccommend.
