About Denise Steele
Hello, I am an author and painter. I recently published my first historical fiction adventure called The Mystery of the Magna Carta, which has interactive apps! I paint in a soft realistic style favoring dancers and the early Jazz era.
Denise Steele purchased this House in 1990
Why Denise Steele chose Southeast Eugene
As soon as I walked into Le Petit Louvre, I was cheered by its many windows, hardwood floors and vintage architecture. Since purchasing LPL I have added many touches to bring out its character and renovate its beauty. I especially love the huge wisteria that cools the porch in the summer and provides privacy from the street! For many years it was my home and art studioI, so I named it "Le Petit Louvre" after a gallery in Sweden I showed at. I have created many favorite paintings here - I hope you will love being here as much as I have.
What makes this House unique
Le Petit Louvre is vintage-cozy, with a light, cheery feel from all the windows that surround it, as well as the fireplace, hard wood floors, clawfoot tub, and glass door knobs. Also I love its location - easy access to everywhere.

Great time at Le Petit Louvre! Central, spacious, hospitable. Denise was a terrific host.
Eugene is a great choice for seeing the sights in Oregon. And LPL is a great choice for a stay in Eugene. This property is actually prettier and larger than the pictures indicate. The kitchen is well stocked, and Denise is a marvelous host. We loved our month there; it felt like home. We recommend it without reservation.
Cute and Cozy
I enjoyed staying at LePetit Lourve. Host was terrific and in touch with us to be sure all was OK.
Clean, cozy and cute!
Great Little oasis
We came back to our birthplace for a celebration of life and spent 3 wonderful nights in this charming house. Our hostess was the mostess and very caring. I can't say enough about Denise. She was all about us being comfortable and happy and it worked. Thanks Denise for sharing your little piece of heaven.
Charming, Loved, Comfortable, Gorgeous
Denise made it quite easy to book and ask questions and was so friendly. We filled every space on every bed and it still felt roomy. Nice neighborhood. Great guidance. Very clear instructions to take care of the place. Love the house and the host.
Good location near trails and the best coffee shop and bagel shop in town. Would think twice about trying to sleep any more people than are comfortable in the 2 double beds. The convertible bed just did not work well for the person using it during our stay.
Apart from this comment we have had nothing but rave reviews for Le Petit Louvre, the beds specifically, and the amenities. These visitors came over Christmas during the coldest weather I have personally seen in Eugene reaching into the single digit temperatures at night. Given this extreme weather and that the futon was in the livingroom, I imagine it was colder than the other bedrooms which have their own wall heaters. We are very sorry the futon did not work out on this occasion, we did situate it right next to a base board heater... perhaps it was not turned on at night? Le Petit Louvre has so much charm, not to mention the cozy clawfoot tub and wood fireplace to delight in. We are ideally located near organic markets, parks, restaurants, cafes, coffee bars, pubs, outdoor music, running trails, and the best city pool. We are with in walking distance to the U of O, and a few minutes drive to downtown. Please check out our other rave reviews above from our very happy guests by clicking the + buttons, enjoy!
Wineries: we are very close to many local wineries, packages available!
We are an hour from the mountains and the beach.
