I’m so happy you and your family enjoyed your time at our home and appreciated the space, pool, hot tub, and beautiful nearby beach. I’m very sorry for the hiccups you experienced during your stay. We were happy to accommodate your early check-in, and I apologize that the location of the key wasn’t clear. The pool is normally cleaned on Fridays since most of our rentals begin on Saturdays, but we were able to have it cleaned right away. Regarding the hot water, the water heater was replaced just two years ago and appears to have tripped, possibly due to the weather. We were able to get it working again as quickly as possible, and when the issue briefly occurred again later in your stay, we addressed it within a few hours. Since your visit, we have had the system professionally serviced and confirmed that it is in excellent working condition. With a home that is rented continuously throughout the season, an unexpected maintenance issue can occasionally arise. We always do everything possible to respond quickly and minimize the inconvenience to our guests. During the hot-water issue, we also offered the use of our other private property less than a mile away for showers. We truly appreciate your patience and are glad that, despite these issues, you had a great family vacation. We would love to welcome you back and would be happy to offer you a discount on a future stay.

Thank you for your review. We’re disappointed to read comments that do not accurately reflect the property or our communication during your stay. I want to clarify a few points regarding the concerns you raised. Our records show that we responded promptly to all messages and addressed concerns as they were brought to our attention. We have been renting the house continuously since January of this year without any complaints, and for the past 19 years we have never experienced anything like this. I take great pride in how we maintain the house, and I have always taken recommendations and concerns seriously and addressed them promptly. The refrigerator is new, and it was your responsibility to make sure the freezer drawer was closed properly. The renters immediately before and after you have had no problems with it. You also rented the house for two people but had eight people staying there, which raises concerns about whether the rental agreement was being followed and about the accuracy of the information provided to us. Regarding the air conditioner, there was a leak, but it has been addressed and repaired. There was never any danger to anyone; only a small piece of sheetrock fell in the garage. Finally, there are no broken beds, and the pots and pans are in good condition. We have worked hard to maintain the property properly and respond to issues when they arise, and we expect the property to be treated with the same level of care and respect.

Happy you liked the house. The pool heater does work, it just needs to be turned on using the control panel near the pool filter system. I wish I knew you were having a problem with it. Please come again and I will make sure it is working for you.

I take all reviews very seriously and have never had the concerns that this tenant had. Unfortunately the property manager had a family situation and had to leave town before the tenants arrived. This was very unfortunate and was the root of the problems. This has never happened before and will never happen again. The pool filter is on a timer and goes on every day, the pool was also cleaned right before their arrival. There was a tropical storm that week which caused there to be a lot of debris and bugs around. We immediately had the pool cleaned again after hearing form the tenants. There are three propane tanks for the grill and we do fill them on a regular basis. I also gave this tenant a $500 refund for their troubles. Up to this point all of the information about the house has been given verbally. I have taken the advice on a notebook with house information, pool operation, internet, restaurants and local attractions and it is now available upon arrival. I am very sorry this happened and I can assure you this will never happen again. I take great pride in renting our home and want everyone to enjoy it as much as we do. My apologies for what happened and know we will take great care of you if you come again. Best, Dave
