Such a great location close to the town of Nelson. Our cabin was cozy and sweet. Great little kitchen and a great deck looking over the lake. They also had smaller bunkies that would be great for glamping!! Definitely work the visit. Thanks Maria for a lovely stay
Had a wonderful stay at the log cabin. The kitchen was well stocked with more than the basics, which was greatly appreciated. Many rentals are filled with mismatched furniture and kitchen essentials but that was not the case in this cabin. The host personalized the space very well, even provided slippers and Doterra defuser for our use. The location is close enough to town with a beautiful view. The cabin getaway was exactly what we needed.
Cool cabin with great character, quiet, close to Nelson
We were impressed with the combination of rustic charm and modern updates in the Morning Star Cabin. The owner/manager has clearly put a lot of thought into providing everything guests may need. Will stay here again the next time we're in Nelson.
Great cabin. Clean, well appointed and quiet. Only a 5 minute drive to town. Beautiful, serene views from the front porch. We had a great 3 day stay. The best part was Maria! Maria could not have been more pleasant and gracious. She is creating a multi dwelling glamping retreat. We will definitely be back.
This cabin was super cozy in a very serene setting. Everything was fully supplied in the kitchen and bathroom. Maria was very responsive and helpful with any questions. I highly recommend staying at this wonderful cabin if you are looking for a quiet setting when visiting Nelson and a 6 min drive to the city center. We had our dog with us and he was even relaxed. We will definitely stay here again at our next visit to Nelson. Thanks again, Maria.
We enjoyed staying at Maria‘s property! She was very responsive and helpful. Comfortable cabin with numerous thoughtful, touches and amenities. Private, relaxing and dog friendly!
We had a wonderful stay. The property was beautiful, clean, and with an amazing view. There was plenty of room. Check in and out were seamless. Our kid was delighted with the loft. Maria anticipated our needs, and was available if needed. She checked in regularly, without being intrusive at all. She even brought us fresh basil and scapes from her garden. Honestly, there was nothing that I would have wanted different. We will be back.
My husband and I had a wonderful relaxing few days. Very clean, warm and inviting. We talked into the night around the raised stone firepit. Enjoyed barbequed suppers and relaxed in the sauna. Just be informed that if you have trouble walking the area around the cabin is uphill and rocky. It's very nice and beautiful but I have knee problems and it's good to be aware ahead of time. There's also a beautiful view of the lake through the day and at night.

Comfy and cozy with a rustic feel. Fully stocked kitchen for all your cooking needs. Large outdoor firepit with wood. We were 2 adults and one dog. Perfect for us!
This well equipped cabin although located on a mountain side with bunkies and.other houses is situated to be completely private. We enjoyed the beautiful views from 2 outside decks, song birds and a large green space to roam. Maria, the host, was only a phone call away but after greeting us left us to enjoy this tranquil beauty. Nelson is only a short drive and if you also bring your dog there is a great off leash walk and swim area for pets along Kootenay lake in downtown Nelson. We loved it all
Overall 5 star stay: absolutely immaculately clean on arrival and incredibly well-stocked kitchen (I sort of wish I realized before the trip was almost over there was a crock pot for meal planning while out skiing! 🥰).Sauna was so lovely, and we really enjoyed the view from the covered deck. Super thoughtful doggy welcome bag that made the cabin feel like home! Watch for deer - we saw so many right at the cabin. Not too isolated, not too far from town. The property is quirky, very Kootenays: it worked really well for us, but walking the dog on the road was not our favourite (I know there are incredible hikes close by, but for that quick morning walk, the road is a bit narrow - it reminded me a bit of being on the Sunshine Coast). Other than that, absolutely awesome spot, and genuinely pet-friendly!Your host at this location will be one of the best you’ve ever met. Just a lovely person, and great communication.Wonderful time!
The property was great. Awesome view of the Kootenay River and Nelson. The host was very nice, and we had several interactions with her. My only small complaint is the way that the rates are advertised. The place sleeps 4, but they rate is for 2 people. You will be charged an extra $30 per night per person extra. Also, you will be charged $25 if you do not wash and put away any dishes. It is these sorts of hidden fees with VRBO that annoy me compared to a hotel.
Great stay, Maria is super friendly and knows all the ins and outs of Nelson and the cabin itself is amazing with a little fire pit outside and some very cozy spots inside and out. We didn’t want to leave!
