The bach is simple yet modern leading to a relaxing fun holiday for Mum too. Hot water in the main bach-"The Palace" is gas heated so unlimited showers. The second shower and toilet is in the utility outside-great for the sandy or fishy ones!
Bikes are available to explore the area or just walk the many paths of Pauanui- these intertwine between the streets and lead to the many playgrounds and tennis courts, beach spots etc. At Pauanui you have the benefit of being able to swim in either the safe harbour or around at the more exciting ocean beach. Also do visit the Water Fall just out of the township. It is an easy 15 minute walk from the road amid native flora. You then get to have a great fresh water swim in the deep pool- try sitting under the water fall with the water massaging your shoulders.
We are only a 2 minute walk to the garage where you can pick up your morning herald and coffee or food for the fishing trip. There is a good SuperValue store a 5 minute walk away in the shopping centre-prices are reasonable. At the Information Centre which is opposite the shopping centre you can find details of any planned activities, get maps and the latest timetable for the ferry across to the 2 Tairua jetties.
