Historic Old Quebec City Condo, Comfortable and Quiet!

This rustic and comfortable condo is centrally located 500 meters from the Boardwalk near the historical Chateau Frontenac Hotel.

The walls to the fortified Old City are just outside the door of our condo that has thick walls of its own . From this location all the sites of the Old City are at your doorstep. Whether you come to shop, eat, sight see, or just breathe in the ambiance of our beautiful City you will be centrally located to do so from this condo. If you are into skiing, both Stoneham and Mont Ste-Anne are 30 minutes down the highway.

The condo is nicely decorated and naturally decorated by stone walls and wooden beams in the ceiling. Come and enjoy a little piece of history staying in the only fortified city in North America.

Our guestbook boasts positive comments from visitors from China, Korea, Holland, Malta, Belgium, Mexico, Russia, and of course throughout Canada and the USA. Come and see the beauty they found staying in the heart of Historic Old Quebec.

Wonderful apartment right in old town
This apartment has everything a couple would need for a wonderful stay. We stayed for nine nights and did not want for anything. There is a fully stocked kitchen to cook, a TV with multiple stations and a totally renovated bathroom. The pictures online are outdated. There is new living room furniture. We stayed in August, and were not hot the entire time, even though the apartment does not have air conditioning. We will return.

Perfect location; GREAT hosts!!
This was the perfect location for our stay in Quebec city. It was an easy walk (although uphill) to all the shops and restaurants, and enough removed that it was nice and quiet. The views over the wall from outside the front door were amazing. I would recommend staying here! We are a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 teens. It was a good size for us to spread out. The owner was fabulous. Super responsive and they were out of town, so had a friend "check us in" which was very helpful and much appreciated. We'd love to stay again. Note: there is no air conditioning, which we found to be typical in old QC, there is a large fan in the apartment and we brought a couple small fans. So glad we did because we caught a hot hot week in July. We can't wait to go back!

Very clean and conveniently located. Able to walk everywhere and come and go as we pleased. Accommodations were clean and updated. Bed was comfortable and bathroom newly renovated. The owners thought of everything we might need and were very easy to get in touch with. Excellent price. We loved our trip to Quebec City.

Amazing property
Location location location. Ed and Carol (property managers) met us and made the check in process extremely easy. More importantly they gave us detailed directions on how to get to all the major areas that we wanted to visit. All of them were really close. The property had just had some recent renovations and they were great. The property is very cozy. A fantastic respite after long days and many stairs. Full kitchen but we used in mainly for keeping our beer and wine cold. There’s a store very close by for cheese, crackers and virtually anything else you’d need for a short stay. You can literally walk anywhere In upper and lower old Quebec. We’ll be back.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay behind the "little door." The apartment was cozy and more than big enough for the two of us, who really only spent mornings and nights there, as there's so much to do. The location on the Quebec city wall is great, and we spent a number of evenings sitting on a bench looking at the St. Lawrence. Carol is very nice and offered lots of suggestions for places to eat and visit. One small issue: perhaps this is just an August thing, but upon arrival Carol noted we'd need to periodically empty the water tray in a humidifier plugged in to a wall in the living room, which seemed like no big deal. But it beeps five times when it's full, and that happened in the middle of our first night. After that, we made sure to empty it before bed, but it needed emptying more than once most days. Not a huge deal, but maybe there's a workaround? The place is great, though, and we'd be happy to go again.

Unique Place and Experience
QC is a uniquely charming place! The rental property suited our purpose. The bedroom is "cave-like" to quote the owner. Extremely convenient location. Parking available on owner's nearby small lot for a fee. Stunning views from the front of the house once you go to up the steps. Keeping the doors open while at home would be fun as the window cannot be opened. Some cleanliness issues were brought to owner's attention which according to her will be taken care of for future visitors. I was grateful that place was made available to me by noon. Thanks, Carol, for everything.

Excellent location and wonderful condo!
Carol and her husband met us, showed us around the condo and gave us great suggestions of places to go etc. We walked and enjoyed the area for a while but unfortunately we had to leave due to an emergency at home. All I can say we will return and definately want to stay at this condo!!!! It was just amazing, clean and all the amenities you need.

The apartment is within walking distance to most all the sights and restaurants. Didn’t need the car except for an out of town day trip to the waterfall and a winery. Rue St Jean was a short walk, lots of restaurants and shops. Lower Old City was also a short walk also having many restaurants and shops. About 30 yards away from the apartment was a overlook where we enjoyed morning coffee and evening sunsets ( when the weather let us). The apartment was just the right size and comfortable. It had everything that we needed.

Cute & Quaint in Fantastic Location
Overall a great base camp for being able to walk everywhere in this charming historical city. The space itself is small but it does have everything that you need. If you're looking for privacy from the people in your group, that is more challenging as the break off from the bedroom is just a drape. The kitchen is small and has basic quality utensils so if you like to cook, which we do, you might want to bring some other kitchen utensils. Carol is a wonderful host who was super responsive for any needs before and during our stay. The location is the best; you can park your car in the reserved spot and walk everywhere. Definitely recommend!

Quaint, Cozy and Comfortable
We have been to Quebec city before but rented an apartment up towards the Chateau Frontenac area. We wanted a change and we were pleasantly surprised with the location of this condo. Although there is no actual view from the condo itself, the moment you step out of the little door the picturesque view of the water is fantastic, especially at night. We enjoyed sitting out at the benches and just taking in the quiet area. However the best part about this condo is that you are moments away from all of the action: the shops, the restaurants, the port. Best location for sure. We were concerned about no air conditioning as it was the middle of summer but it remained cool enough for sleeping with the fan provided. The condo itself has the basics needed and the hosts were friendly and easy going. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

The opening of "the little door"
We had a delightful stay in Vieux Quebec and the property was within easy access to many of the tourist sites and to the conference I attended. Of particular interest to me was the opportunity to see the Cycle Tour right outside our door, A great location and a wonderful time on Quebec City.

The Best...Everything
The location, the charm, the wonderful little door. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Our time was made magical by our stay at this property. Opening the "little" doors and emerging RIGHT ON THE RAMPARTS, was amazing. The space was perfect for 2 people, and you have everything you need. The kitchen could use a few more cooking implements, a spatula and some extra frying pans would be great, but overall the place was very well equipped. The character of the apartment was perfect, and the location is one that cannot be beat. Walk to everything, and through an area that is as charming as a postcard :) Book this place, you WILL NOT be sorry, and you WILL be dreaming of coming back.

Why they chose this property

The Old City allows you to step back to the year 1608 when Samuel Champlain came and founded what has become a UNESCO World Heritage site. When we first came to Quebec on our honeymoon we decided that this would be the place where we would set down roots and begin our family. Six children later the roots are too deep to pull up so it looks like the Old City is stuck with us!

What makes this property unique

The benefit of a stay at the Little Door is the '5-Factor' Leaving the front door and walking for about 5 minutes puts you in touch with some of the best restaurants in North America. You desire crepes for breakfast? Why not stop at Casse Crepe Breton and watch as they make them before you eyes stuffing them with fresh fruit... chocolate... and whip cream for those have been good boys during their travels! You want to discover antique shopping... no problem... 5 minutes on foot. You desire a lovely stroll along the St. Lawrence River... no problem... 5 minutes on foot. You would like to take in a pub and have a glass of wine or a pint of your choice... you got it ... 5 minutes! So, the '5-factor' is alive an well at the Little Door condo.
